As i said yesterday, we didnt do too much today, just went briefly to premium outlets where i managed to find some college ncaa crocs. 3 pairs for 30 dollars!!!! usc trojans red, lsu tigers purple and fsu seminoles, deep burgundy and believe me, i have no problem in wearing wild colours!! The only dining we did was at china jade at half-three in the afternoon. Why are these places so good when you know they shouldnt be? Spent a lovely sundown at the pool with a bottle of magners, great lazy day. Friday 30 april brought our "swim with manatees" day with floridadolphintours and id tried not to think about this too much as i was a bit excited about the whole trip. It wasnt until that very morning before we left the room that i decided to actually go in the water so bathers packed, off we went. We met in the sizzler down by pointe orlando and i could tell that the 12 of us were going to get on fine and we all had a laugh together going to kings bay on the crystal river where (for 10 dollars) we picked up our wetsuits and hilarity ensued as i couldnt get mine on. A bigger size later and off we went. The next 2 hours flew by as we just stayed in the bay with a family of manatees and once i got over my panic attacks when one came close, (try it and see what i mean!!!!) i enjoyed it immensely, having a laugh with everyone and playing hell with one guy from boston who was born in the uk. Top sport, and i continued to swim up on him and grab his leg, slap him on the back etc. He had the last laugh mind, when he made me swim across the bay to a non-existent manatee, but the camaredie was special between the whole group and it made the day. After the swim, we drove to the homasassa widlife park for an outdoor meal (packed lunch) and a wander around. This was followed by a spin to the withalacoochee river for an airboat ride and believe me this was the best experience by far and ive been to boggy creek and the everglades. Very knowledgeable and skilful boat captain made this a very unforgettable experience. the day was slightly spoiled by the young (full of hot air) tour guide making a big play for the "not a tip, but a thank-you" hand-out at the end. I think he shot himself in the foot because i think that we all just got off, so unlike the tour-guide on sunday which ill tell you about later. You cant literally ask formoney can you? Anyway after going our separate ways, we went back to the hotel, changed and went to unos for food. I had the steak, chicken and king-prawn skewers and leander had the 3 mini-burgers, very nice and very simple. The day was completed by a very enjoyable walk up to dairy queen, where i filled my boots. What a great time we were having here on i-drive and we hadnt even been here a week yet, theres far more to come before our week in disney and how nice is it when you make friends for life, knowing you all shared in something so simple but it is definitely going to stay in your mind. great people, great people
