Today was mothers day, a day that was predicted to be busy, but after eating a quick breakfast in the room , we went to catch a bus. The first one in was the magic kingdom and we got on and although it was full, you could have fitted more on. The section for the animal kingdom and epcot was reasonably quiet, even at nine-ish in the morning. When we got to the mk, we found it busier than normal, but nowhere near the crowds ive seen at march and at thanksgiving, so mothers day is fine folks, and ive said it before, it adds to the atmosphere , especially in the mk and anywhere theres characters. All we really wanted to do in the park that day ,was to buy the statue of the seven dwarves walking on the log and i like to buy the special and expensive items in the mk, (well,,leander does really) so after finding it and despatching it happily on its way to the hotel, we exited to go to epcot. We thought wed get the ferry over and catch the monorail at the ttc, and getting to epcot, we headed straight to the food-court for a well-earned cake each. Then it was on to the international gateway to catch the boat to mgm, via the beach, boardwalk and the swan and dolphin. We love just taking in all the sights. In the studios, we headed to the abc commissary for a burger lunch and we both gave it the thumbs-up, before heading over to the lights, camera action show. Quick observation, why do people still wander in , 15 minutes after the show starts and why arent the turnstiles closed? Id have thought it was a distraction. Anyway, after a great show, (dont yoy just love how those seats kill your backside!!!) we went to look at the "one mans dream" and the heat kicked in so we walked to the bus depot to come back to the hotel. It was too hot to go to the pool, so we got stuck into the laundry and packed most of the suitcase to get it out of the way to make the rest of the days easier as we knew what clothes wed finished with and also to stick all the stuff wed bought into the cases, lock them and shove them behind the door all tagged!!! We had adrs for ohana, so we caught the boat to dtd and the bus to the polynesian, where i have to say that the food and service is the best in disney. Our server only basically sat us down as they all muck-in with the serving of the different meat skewers. what a top bunch of boys. An absolute credit to disney. The food was so tasty, my god. $66.01 was so worth it and i had no problem with leaving a cash tip on this meal. After crawling out on my hands and knees (during the meal, even though i had food on it, one server said, "the big guy looks like he needs more pork" and threw half a pig on my plate !!) we went to the mk by boat for emh that evening, where it was pretty quiet after the fireworks and we stayed until ten to twelve and leanders birthday arrived at midnight on the bus back. Even though it was gone midnight, we strolled around the path enjoying the fact that it was her birthday. We still to this day, laugh about ohana and how the experience was nothing like anything wed seen at any restaurant at disney, you cant begin to imagine how good this dinner is unless youve been. Next time we go to disney, were going the first and last nights were there.!!!
