It was leanders birthday today and id booked adrs for the princess storybook breakfast as a surprise for her. We caught the bus over and walked through an empty world showcase to norway, where there were quite a few people outside. From getting there to leaving, we had the most attentive, polit and genuine servers and were only just beaten by ohana for being the best in disney. Whilw wating, i was chewing the fat with a shop assistant, who said that the servers in character meals, are subject to serving mainly dining plan customers and those who pay out of pocket are the ones who tip cash, so they just all muck in and divvy the cash amonst them. I like that and if its true, im glad i tip cash as you didnt need to catch your individual servers eye, any one of them served you. What a great system. I mentioned to the manager, how pleased we were and in guest services at the front of epcot, as i did at ohana, with the restaurant manager, and even the manager of the polynesian hotel itself. Leander loved the attention of the princesses, and i have to say that even a 46 year-old rugby player never gets tired of seeing these "real" disney characters!! On the way out of epcot, we did the seas, innoventions and the spaceship earth, before getting a bus over to the animal kingdom, where we queued for the front of EE, and the waiting area is as good as everybody says and the ride is fantastic. There was no way were we going to wait an hour for KRR so we caught a bus back to the hotel and just potched about a bit befor heading to dtd on the boat. In dtd we walked to get a bus to the beach club to have food in beaches and cream. Well, what a fantastically tasty beef sub we had!!!!!! Massive, excellently cooked and presented, the dessert was out of this world, making a simple ice-cream into a luxury treat and really friendly servers. Ive seen many pictures on various sites of this place, but i didnt realise that there are mirrors in them that give the impression that the room is big, but it isnt!!! its a pretty small place, but its not the last time im going there, believe me!! After food, we walked from there to mgm, passing the karaoke by the beach club pool, where everybody was having a great time and it was only 6 o clock. The studios had emh that night, so we just strolled round for a bit, before i went on the aerosmith ride, we both did the tower and the great movie ride and finished the night off with the little mermaid. We caught the bus back and walked over to the mansions in riverside, before sitting outside for a bit and relaxing, before turning in for the night. Another great day and we both thought that beaches and cream is a real treasure that not enough praise can be given. For a couple, its great to just find your way there and have a great meal , no matter how long it takes you to get there.
