18-20 flight regulations?

Just been wondering now ds has turned 18 - I understand that he won't be able to drink in USA and he is fine with that (not got a taste for it yet ) but I was wondering how do flights work between UK and USA for kids between 18 and 20? Can they have a drink going home on the flight or not? Intrigued.

The law depends on the airline. British airlines its 18, US it's 21!

No problems on any UK registered carrier. My DS has always had a drink on the plane since turning 18.

thanks for your replies - as I say he's not much bothered at the moment but that may be different if he joins us again at 19 or 20. We always travel with Virgin or BA so that is a great explanation. Just thought he might want a nightcap coming home
