So, Dell.com is having a pre-holiday sale on the Wii until 11/25. It is coming up as $179 for me, but tax makes it about $191.

So, for you Wii and holiday deal experts, do you think I should bite or wait? It's so hard to spend that much at all as I've been anti-video game for so long now, but this one seems different. Well, either that or they just have an extremely BRILLIANT marketing team. :)

I'm right there with you. Brilliant marketing team, IMO. :)

I doubt we'll jump on it (the images I have of DS sending the wii-mote, and I feel stupid just typing that, smashing through the TV are too strong), but it's calling to me, despite my firm belief that videogames are for 11 year olds.... Marketing....

Oh, and hubby looked, he's getting that same price on dell.com.

I am STILL anti-video game and LOVE the Wii. It's not just the marketing, they listened and found a game that crosses generations. This is just plain genius! :thumbsup2

It's VERY GOOD -- typically, the Wii retails for $199.99

Hmmmm... Thanks for the opinions on the deal. I'm still not sure. DH and I will discuss tonight and then if the deal is still up and we agree to do it, I will bite.

I do see that the Wii can be fun for the family, but I think it also opens up a whole lot of possibility for problems too - always wanting to use it, fighting over which game, a friend coming over and it getting broken, etc.

Well, I guess if this is my biggest dilemma today, I'm doing OK. :goodvibes

Target has the WII this week for 199.00 plus you get a $20.00 gift card for Target for buying it there. I thought that was pretty good. It has WII sports with it.
I am also in your same boat....anti video even though we have a PS2

That's a great price. I thought they couldn't be sold for less than 199. As far as having a game system in the house. Rules can be set up and remotes can be taken away, just like any other family rules.

I don't know any other game system that will allow a Grandmother (me) to compete with my grandson (2 3/4 years old) Yesterday he got a turkey!!!! Great fun that the whole family can play.

I bought one when Target opened yesterday. When I purchased mine, it looked like they had a dozen or so. I took the kids to Target in the afternoon to get ideas about what games they might like. They were sold out of Wiis. All of them were gone.

Someone on my Facebook posted that she found a Wii for $159 at TJ Maxx, and several people responded that they then went out and found them there, too for that price. I believe most of them were in Ohio, but you might want to try TJ Maxx just in case.

Wow. I bought mine when Target opened on Sunday and there were a lot as well. I'm curious to see if they have any left. I'm just so glad that it's bought and I'm done with that! :thumbsup2

Just came back from Target and have my Wii and my gift card!

Yay! :goodvibes

I just played the Wii for the first time at a friends house this weekend. We're definitely getting one. It was a LOT of fun.

My only concern with ordering online, is what if there is a problem with the system after a few months? Wouldn't you have to pay to ship it back to be tested? I think I'd rather get it at Target with the GC.
