17 Characters, 1 Family - Sept 2005 *UPDATE: 8/8 MGM w/ Pics*

Beautiful children. DOesn't it worry you posting images of them on the internet?

Wonderful TR!

heaven2dc - Thanks for the compliments. I am the one in the blue shirt. Overall, the trip was a success and we're doing it again next month.

BeastiesBelle - Honestly, I was a little worried at first, but I noticed many people include pics of their kids in their TR. Is there any reason in particular you ask? You've got me a little nervous now! Should I take the pics off?

Part 6: A Fantasmic night at MGM

We returned to our room for a short refresher before we headed off to a late night at MGM. Being the night owl that I am, I was really excited about the evening EMH. I was also really excited about avoiding the stampede for the busses after Fantasmic! After missing Fantasmic on our 2003 trip, we were determined to see it this time. The only other time we saw it was in 2000, but dh and I had seats way down front and the main thing I remember is being wet the whole time from the water screens. This time, I planned better.

However, in my planning, I forgot to leave enough time for dinner. We were planning on grabbing something along the way, but didn’t want to risk missing Fantasmic, so we decided to wait until after the show. Luckily, the show was so good that everyone forgot to get grumpy. The rest of the family chose to skip Fantasmic and eat instead. I personally think they made a really bad choice, but oh well! The show was great and we all loved it. The kids were enthralled the entire time and none of us wanted it to end, but the Tower of Terror waited.

While we were fighting the crowds leaving the theater, a CM in charge of the strollers insisted we take one. The boys had been fine without one all day, but we reluctantly took a double, figuring we would ditch it soon if we didn’t need it. It turned out to be a wonderful solution for two little guys at the end of a long day. Gaggy and Laura took some of the kids back to the room and the rest of us stayed to enjoy EMH. Our kids were all brave and tall enough to ride just about everything, and they have the wonderful ability of bouncing off the walls for all hours of the night, so we decided to keep them with us.

We grabbed some Mickey bars for dinner (hey, its Disney, ice cream is an acceptable meal) and headed to the TOT. I love, love, love the TOT and was determined to enjoy it as a family. We told the kids they had to try it once and then if they hated it we wouldn’t make them go again. They bravely entered the elevator, and all of them left with smiles! What a relief!

I was worried about the crowds at EMH, but there was almost no one there. It was a little creepy walking around the back part of MGM at night without anyone else around, but we did everything we wanted to without waiting at all. Star Tours, TOT, Rock N’ Roller Coaster, Muppetvision, everything! We had a wonderful evening, caught a bus back to the room without waiting, and crashed as soon as our heads hit the pillow! It was a perfect first day of vacation!
