Day 4. Seaworld.

Woke up today to a bright and beautiful blue sky. What a relief after the snow. We’ve lost two days of our Holiday but are now back on track and after a massive all you can eat breakfast at Golden Corral we head out to Seaworld.

We wandered through the park taking in the sights and first stop was the Shamu show. This is a great show and everyone enjoyed it. Adults sitting up top with a beer in our hands ($5 for a bottle of beer!!) DH and the children bravely sitting in the splash zone. Seeing it through new eyes with the family was great. I even enjoyed watching the ‘victims’ get a bath, although I do think it may be time to change this show as few of the victims seem surprised anymore. Everyone in the splash zone came back soaked with the exception of DN David – he was gutted to remain dry!!

After Shamu we got to collect our free beer and visit with the Clyesdales, these were massive up close and well worth a visit. Terrors of the Deep was our next stop – I was expecting this to have changed since it was closed on our visit last year, but all they seem to have done is added a restaurant which is a bit disappointing. The building work along the lakeside is coming along nicely and you can see roughly what the finished thing should look like. A vast improvement hopefully.
Over to Atlantis where we watch our brave few on the first drop. They don’t know what’s coming and are disappointed that they are not wet. Five minutes later they drip through the exit/shop gleefully wringing out their shorts. I can never understand why children get so excited about being wet! After the soaking we split into two groups to do Kraken and the Clyde & Semour show. DM & both DS’s love this show, while we do Kraken 3 times in a row. (DH Jorge likes to get his ride photo just right!) A quick peek at the penguins and we head over to see the Dolphins.

Feeding time is half an hour away but it doesn’t seem to matter as the Dolphins are in playful mood and spit water at us over the wall. Another soaking. DD Rebecca and DN Katie get to play ‘Tic Tac Toe’ with the trainers placing coral on a giant board on the correct answers of questions. Rebecca wins but only because she started first – the trainer answered most of the questions for them! Time seems to have escaped us and by this time it’s nearly 5pm so we head back to the villa to chill for a while before our PS’s at ‘Ohana at 8.30pm.

I was really excited about going to ‘Ohana again after our fab evening last year but it turns out to be a disappointment. Originally we were supposed to do this yesterday at 5.30pm, which would have been much better. The restaurant is full when we first arrive and are seated by the most obnoxious server in Disney. He is obviously miffed about having to serve our table along with another, larger, table next to us and makes no secret of it. He even refused to serve DS with alcohol making her have coke instead (DS is 32 and it was her son’s 11th Birthday Party!) Luckily she took it in good humour. They ran a couple of children’s games but there was no singing or hula dancing like we saw last year. By the time we had finished our meal and the (thankfully new and much better) server brought over Nick’s cake the place was almost deserted. A lesson learnt here: Disney ‘s family restaurants are great at teatime but later in the evening forget it! Still, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves so we decide not to make a fuss and spoil it for them.

Back to the villa, a few beers and bed. Exhaustion is becoming the norm!
Tomorrow MGM and Fantasmic

I would've took this as a compliment to think I didn't look over 21:)

Nice report. Looking forward to the next installment.

Glad you've all thawed out after the snow;)

Seaworld was a good choice after your nightmare start to the holiday - nice and relaxing (apart from Atlantis - my DH still threatens to divorce me everytime we mention it:p ).

Shame O'Hana's was a disappointment; perhaps third time lucky:D
