16 and Pregnant/Teen Mom Thread - Sad but true...we r hooked!

To be fair we have no idea if Sophia paternal grandparents see her or not. They might choose not to be seen on TV.

I assumed Michael is her step dad.... Farrah has a different last name than her mom and Michael.

I think Michael is her real Dad, she is a spitting image of him. Farrah looks nothing like her mother.

I was a teen parent all by my self and lived with my nagging mom.... I went to highschool and college full time... MY MOM NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER baby sat for me. If I had a dr apt or went to look for an apartment. I brought my daughter with me. I had her in day care while I was in school and i workd out and went to the gym while my daughter was in day care.. If I wanted a break I had to plan on how it was gonna happen.. My friends never baby sat either( they all were in higschool / college)... I lived w my mom until my daughter was 2 and I was 20.. I got married and my mom still never never baby sits my other children...

any way farah has it great.. I would have love to have had a break or my mom get up at 5 am w baby....when my baby was crying my mom said that I could still giv her up:sick:.. I had no help except that i was able to live there for free( of course I had to listen to her controll everything:scared1:)

any way shes 17 and shes a great daughter and Im blessed....

I think there's a balance that's needed. I think you were on the extreme of having absolutely no help from your parents, however I think Farrah is on the other extreme to the point that her mom tries (and usually does) takeover and controls everything she possibly can. My mom can get like that, just when we live in the same town and was/is like that with my sister and her ds, that still live at home. I remember, specifically, when Farrah asked her mom not to get Sophia at 5 or 6 in the morning when she first gets up and feeds her, and what did her mom do????? She went right in Farrah's room and took the baby and fed her. Her mom doesn't respect her, and the fact is it's her baby. I think he mom needs to set up boundries and limits on how much and when she'll watch Sophia, but then she also needs to respect Farrah's wishes, because Farrah is the mom, and she needs to let her be the mom. Both Farrah and her mom are in the wrong, but I put more blame on Farrah's mom because she's older and should be wiser(not to mention all the guilt trips she gives Farrah, when Farrah starts or attempts to be more independent,) Farrah still has a lot to learn.

I think that is her dad, I have noticed that when she talking about him she calls him dad. I think she calls him Michael cause she can and gets away with it,

Yeah, but Sophia was awake and needed to be fed and Farrah certainly wasn't getting up. I think Farrah's mom is a nutjob in general, but the average grandparent would be torn about that - do I respect my child's wishes and let my grandchild suffer or do I care my my grandchild. :confused3

I have said it before in this thread, but Farrah does need to move out and do it on her own. I believe that's the only thing that is going to give her the reality check she needs. I don't see it happening though. Farrah and her mom are very co-dependent for each other.

did you see the new 16 and pregnant...wooosh that girl makes Farah look like a saint

Go here for the newest "16 And Pregnant" thread. This season looks like it's going to be another doozie!

I know they are filming the first season moms again because MTV has been back in town filming Amber. I don't know about the second season moms yet, I haven't watched the reunion show for the 2nd season of 16 and preg.
