We leave in a week for a 3 day quick stay at disney! This will be our sons first trip to disney and animal kingdom! I am bringing his stroller which is a very sturdy stroller with under compartment for storage! My main question is can I bring a small cooler??? I am thinking a small cooler just big enough for a few bottles of soy milk, juice and bottled water?!?!?! We want to save a little money by taking in our own bottled water but will be eating at the parks for our lunch. I am taking a few snacks for my son and husband but I am going to stuff those in diaper bag! I was thinking to bring my sons swimmy diapers and swim suit into park because I think I remember a little water area for kids? I looked on disneys website for more info on coolers and its confusing! I am easily confused:rotfl: Please please if you know anything about coolers or other cant live without tips let me know!!! We are also staying at the omni resort at champions gate. If anyone knows anything about this resort good or bad I would love to hear about that too! This is our first time staying there and have never heard anything out this particular hotel!!! Thank you so much for your tips in advance! I cant wait! 7 days to go!!!!!!!

We always bring in snacks for the kids and our own water bottles - kids have their own backpacks and DH and I share one. If the cooler is for soy milk and juice I would think it would be ok. We used to bring in insulated bags with bottles of formula when the kids were small. I've seen families carry in medium sized soft sided coolers with whole lunches in them and not get stopped. If it's for a baby/small child I doubt you'll have a problem.

Must haves for us: snacks, water bottles, sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, wet ones wipes and hand sanitizer. There's more but I'm trying to cut back as DH carries the backpack and always complains that t's too heavy with stuff we don't need (rain ponchos). That is, until he needs a rain poncho :rotfl:

Sorry, have no info on resort. Enjoy your trip :woohoo:

Oh thank you!!!! I checked the weather and there is a chance for rain 2 of the days we are there!!! Better bring the panchos!!!!!!

My daughter's first Disney Trip was when she was 15 months old and it was GREAT!!!

You can bring in whatever you like (food/drink wise) into the park.

Your bags will be checked before you enter the park, have them ready.

Unless you have special water for the baby, don't bother...you can get free cups (regualr sized cups with lids) at any food location that serves fountain soda. This saves us a ton of money and then you aren't carying around heavy water bottles...

Happy travels!

The cooler specifically has to be soft-sided without wheels (they don't allow anything that is pulled behind you) but other than that as long as it's not giant you'll be fine.

Also, you cannot bring any straws into the Animal Kingdom. They are choking hazards for the animals. They may or may not enforce it when you go through security, but they could make you take the straws off any juice boxes you bring in.
The only other thing is that they don't allow any glass bottles (there might be an exception made for baby food jars)

As an extra tip you may or may not be aware of each park has a Baby Care Center. These are wonderful when traveling with young kids. They have changing tables, high chairs, child size restrooms, and nursing rooms. They also have microwaves and hot water. If nothing else, they are an air-conditioned place to relax with kids. They will be notated on your map with a pacifier/binky. The one in the Animal Kingdom is the nicest, so even if you don't visit any of the others, the one there is worth a peak.

I'm eagerly following this thread as our daughter will also be 15 months when we go on her first trip.

We've never had any problem bringing food or drink in EXCEPT that I've been stopped with an open soda/water bottle when they see it - I guess they might have thought I had some "other" liquid in there.

Brought my daughter at 8 months old...and I have to say I was very leery about how that was going to go...she did FANTASTIC! She was a trooper! My biggest suggestion is to take naps and take your time...besides, if we didn't catch something, that just meant we have to plan another trip :-)

We did participate in a fridge swap, froze waters and put them in thermal totes with fruit & snacks...also you can get free cups of ice in the park.

Have fun!!

I brought my DS 3 times when he was young and we had a great time. I loved the baby care centers and actually fed him in the there just to have a quieter place.

You might want to buy a few things to keep baby comfortable:

clip on battery fan for the stroller

stroller shade

rain protection for stroller

I've also seen a lot of toddlers wearing a back pack monkey harness
