Dd will be exchanging gifts with a handful of her friends this year but we need ideas. So far we've only thought of movie gift card, popcorn, candy etc.

Any ideas?

When my daughter did this last year, jewelry seemed popular.
Inexpensive necklaces mostly.
Bath & Body Works stuff is popular too.

I just bought my 13 yo daughter a manicure lapdesk from Ulta for $20. They almost always have coupons you can find too. For her friends, she bought necklaces from Forever 21 and hand sanitizers and cases for them from Bath & Body Works.

My daughter is 13. She is planning to give her friends: Perfume from Victoria's Secret (there is a line that is $5 for a bottle) and small size lotions from Bath and Body Works. She also got a bunch of hand sanitizers from BBW and the little cases to put them in for some other friends. Those ended up being less than $1 a piece. I know these are a little less expensive than you're looking for. But, DD has to pay for her own gifts for friends so she's budget minded on this.

Make up (even the cheapy kits), fingernail polish, hair accessories, funky socks or craft kits.

Do you have a Five Below store near you? That is a favorite of all my kiddos (14, 13 and 10).

gift is some chocolate molds, chocolate melts, and pretzels or popsicle sticks to make them. My DD got this a few years ago and we really thought it was a fun and different present.

My dd has given alot of the things mentioned but also favorite band T's, or a "friends" frame with a nice picture of just the two of them, or a group of friends.
This year she is getting her BFF a 1D tee and some BBW stuff, and her other BFF some jewelry from Forever 21 and some BBW stuff. She only does her closest friends, not everyone else.

My dd love any kind of makeup, bath and body, nail polish... they love it all!

It may be too late to look into this now, but if you sign up for emails, 1saleaday.com has some GREAT "daily deals". We got our niece a TON of cute jewelry -- I think we ended up getting 6 or 7 bracelets for $29. Shipping takes longer through this site than most others, but it's a legitimate website - several news organizations have done stories on it. It takes about 2 weeks to get it, but you get tracking info.

If that's not an option, I definitely second Bath & Body Works (or similar) stuff.

We do small gifts for several friends and then a couple bigger gifts for the besties! The girls also like to take some candy or gum to share with everyone the last day before the holiday. (Think candy canes, hershey kisses etc.)

This year the besties are getting those infinity scarves that are so popular!

I also got VS bath gel, sprays and hand creams 7/ $35 then used my $10 secret card for extra little gifts to have on hand for that unexpected guest or friend gift!

Girls gifts are easy!! We now have a long time boyfriend!!! Almost a year!! What to get him is a challenge! Moms with boys any ideas??? We like him, but don't want to give him the wrong impression! (ie we don't want them too serious at this age IYKWIM!)

I like all of these ideas. What do you know about Wreck this Journal? Do you need to buy accessories for it also?

No. You can use materials that are already probably around the house: markers, colored pencils, glue, glitter, things like that. My daughter has also used things like jelly, fake vampire blood, dirt from outside, duct tape, construction paper, lip gloss, coffee grounds, etc. :lmao:

Good to know! :rotfl2:

If you still have a Kmart around, they often have 70% off their jewelry. You can find something nice, in silver or 14k/10k gold (not plated) in that price range during these sales. So, you can get something originally $50 for $15. Nice earrings, bracelet, charms, etc. :thumbsup2

I just picked up this lap desk for my dd! She's going to LOVE it! Thanks for the idea!

I see a lot of people posting perfume, nail polish, etc. Just be sure to take the actual personalities of the girls you are buying for into account. DD12 - who is the ultimate girly girl, totally into makeup, nails and all things that "smell good" - has a best friend who is decidely not into ANY of this. Since one of BFFs favorite things is reading, DD and I decided on a "curl up and read" kit for her: we put a snuggie, a nice set of bookmarks and one of the plastic candy canes of Hershey's kisses in it. I may add a cocoa and mug set, not sure yet, depends on if I find one super cheap. I didn't want to get an actual book because she's already read everything I could think to get her, and this seemed like a good way to acknowledge her likes otherwise.

I agree. DD and I have been discussing this over the past few days. :thumbsup2
