Thanks for the help! I was hoping people who have gone with a big family (we have 14) can tell us the best options for table service meals for dinner.... we would like to sit together! We will all be at MK and Epcot and could also travel to the resorts!

You'll probably be split up into 2 tables at a lot of places, but I have seen large groups at Biergarten in Epcot, Boma at AKL and Ohana at the Poly. I would imagine most buffets (like Crystal Palace) could push tables together for your group.

We have had 10 people at Biergarten before with no issues. I think that would be your best bet at Epcot. Ohana has some bigger tables, but I don;t know about 14 people. We also have had 16 people at Whispering Canyon Cafe. We did have to be split into two tables, but the adults sat at one table and the kids (ages 2-17) sat at the other table and the table were right next to each other.

I have the same situation for our upcoming trip.

Here's the restaurants I am considering:
'Ohana
Biergarten
The Wave
Cape May
and
Le Cellier---but I'm afraid that they will laugh at me when I try to get a table for 16!! We would probably take up the entire place! :rotfl:
Wolfang Puck Cafe (it's worth a shot)

Here's where we are not even going to try:
Le Chefs De France--their table configuration doesn't seem to lend itself well to large groups
Coral Reef--same reason
Kona--same reason

I just went looking at the online dining reservation tool and found that you can't make an ADR for more than 10 people. I guess we'll be calling our ressies in, huh?

With a group of 14 i think that you could contact Disney's Group Dining department and they would be able to best advise which restaurant options would best accomodate your group. Just call the Dining number and ask for Group Dining.

We were there this past May with 25 family members and had several dinners all together. Ohana's, Cape May Cafe, Chef Mickey"s, Teppen Edo just to name a few.

Great advice, Sugardimples! I'll be borrowing that info and using it myself.

Thanks!

Thanks for the ideas!! oh i didnt know we couldnt make them online! I guess I will be calling group dining too! I wonder how Tepan Edo would be? I wasnt sure how many could sit at one table? I did eat at Biergarten and the tables were 8 or ten people.... I dont think that a buffet would be the best (IMO) because everyone will be up and down and it seems like it would get crazy.... I think it would be easier to all sit at tables (hopefully near eachother) and be waited on.... but maybe I am wrong. This will be our first trip with 14 people!

Ohana and the Wave are on my list for sure.... Epcot is what I am debating between Tepan Edo, Hacienda - new mexican one or Markeresh. I was thinking LeCellier but rumors are that when I go in Janaury it is becoming 2 TS credits!!

Teppen Edo can't put you all at the same table, but they could put you in the same room at two different tables.

We are also a party of 14... we have Teppan Edo booked.. the CM on the group dining reservation line told me that they would probably put us at two hibachi's near each other in the same room. We have BOMA as well, Crystal Palace breakfast (the lady said that even though we may be split into two tables, they would be right next to each other). We have an Ohana Breakfast and she said that they have some very large table that would probably seat us! We tried to do a lot of buffets cause we figured that would accommodate our group the most. Good luck!! Can't wait to hear what you got!! :):thumbsup2

We ate with 17 of us at the Liberty Tree Tavern and they put us on the back wall tables in a long row, it was great. At that time though it was also a character meal. We have also eaten at the Askerhaus in Epcot as a large group and they sat us at tables right next to each other. The best way I have found to get to sit together is to book at the very beginning of the meal time or near the very end.

at MK I'd go LTT, we've done it more than once with GG and it was great (shame no more characters though)
OR
Jump to POLY for Ohana OR Trails end at FW

At Epcot" Teppan Edo was nice (I think it was 8-9 per table) or Mexico if no picky eaters, I think that you should def use GG number to try and book, you'll prob have better luck!
Have a great trip, such fun with groups!

I have gone with 14 before -
CRT - at one table for lunch,
Le Cellier - we were split up but in the long booth on one side and the chairs on the other for 10 of us the other 4 sat at a table just across (Actually this was under the candlelight processional package)
Coral Reef - 1 booth and 2 tables across from each other
Narcoossees - at 1 table
California Grill - at 1 table
Tokyo Dining - 2 tables next to each other
Jiko - 1 table (set up in the wine room - just off the main dining room)
