14 days of wonderful eating...welcome to my little dining review

I love the location of the Flame Tree BBQ. We sat by the water, overlooking Mount Everest. That was a great seating area.

We loved the food, but we had a hard time digesting all the spices they put on the meat!!! :rotfl:

I don't know if I would eat here again because of that. But, the food was good.

1/2 Slab of St. Louis Ribs - served with baked beans and coleslaw

And for dessert, we both had the key lime pie, which was sublime. One of the best I had during our trip.

d-38.jpg

We might eat here again in September, we are not sure yet. We might give it another try, as the food was really good. It's just our stomachs didn't like it. :rotfl2:

Another great restaurant, and I think one of the best table service restaurant in Animal Kingdom. I really have nothing to say other than the food was delicious and the restaurant is really beautiful.

We fell in love with Sunshine Seasons. So much so that we ate here twice and came back a third time for snacks. :lovestruc

And for a third time, the famous Strawberry Shortcake :worship:

:rotfl:

Let's just say that we will eat at Sunshine Seasons again this year. I *think* we loved it!!! ;)

If we had to pick one restaurant out of all the ones we ate at, Le Cellier wins without a doubt. That was the best table service restaurant we ate at. :thumbsup2

I love your reviews:thumbsup2 I didn't know Sci-Fi would let you sub onion rings for fries. I will have to keep that in mind on my next trip.

Terri

The Wilderness Lodge is a wonderful and beautiful hotel. It's worth taking the bus just to visit the hotel. We ate at the Whispering Canyon Cafe. The food was good, but I think it's the atmosphere that sets this restaurant apart from the others. If you have kids, this is a wonderful family restaurant.

We both had the skillet, and we had plenty of food for 2. I forgot to take a picture or our desserts that night. I think I was too distracted by all that was going on. Ketchup anyone? :rotfl2:

d-56.jpg

Fresh-baked Cornbread

Mixed Greens Salad with Apple Vinaigrette

d-60.jpg

Smoked Pork Ribs, Pulled Pork, Oven-roasted Chicken, Beef Brisket, Mashed Potatoes, Cowboy Beans, and Corn on the Cob

Sorry about the pic, we already had started eating when I took the picture. :)

We ate here in 2008 and we knew we had to come back. The fish and chips are wonderful. And, that's what we both had. It's on our list this year as well.

No Sugar Added Fruit Trifle

JF is not a diabetic, but somehow he loves the no-sugar added desserts. :)

This year, we would like to make a reservation on the same night as Illuminations and try to have a table outside so we can watch the fireworks as well.

I love your reviews:thumbsup2 I didn't know Sci-Fi would let you sub onion rings for fries. I will have to keep that in mind on my next trip.

Terri

They charged 3$ or something for the sub. But, JF thought is was worth it, it's just that he didn't get a lot of them. :)

We hadn't planned on eating at the Backlot Express in Hollywood Studios. We set out to go see Fantasmic, and we thought we would have dinner at Starring Rolls Cafe. We didn't know it closes at 3PM, so we ended up eating at Backlot Express. It wasn't too bad, but not the best meal either. Again, those no-sugar added Strawberry Shortcakes were really delicious. :thumbsup2

We both had the Grilled Turkey & Cheese - with arugula and red peppers served with French fries

d-72.jpg

Okay, totally off-topic, but I LOVE YOUR HAIR!!! I'm thinking of getting it cut like that...did you find it easy to keep looking nice in the Florida heat? I've got naturally curly hair but am considering a cut like that and straightening it. Wondered if it was high-maintenance...

Thanks...sorry for the girl-talk interruption.

Beautiful restaurant! The colors are vibrant, and the restaurant is really spacious. The pizza is really good too. We ate here in 2008, and we ate here again in 2009 and we will eat here again in 2010. :rotfl:

d-73.jpg

Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of our meals. :sad2: I had the cheese pizza with the apple pie and JF had the pepperoni pizza with the chocolate cake. Both pizzas were fresh and delicious.

This is the only buffet-style restaurant we ate at during our trip. No, sorry. We ate at Chef Mickeys where I forgot to take pictures of our food.

So, this is the second buffet-style restaurant then. We have it plan for our 2010 trip. I loved all the food at Boma, and the restaurant is beautiful. I only took pictures of my plate, this year I will try to take pictures of the buffet instead.

First plate

Second plate

This soup was wonderful, I went back for a second bowl of soup after that plate. :rotfl: It had cheese in it and bacon, that I remember. But, can't find the name anywhere.

Thanks!!! :) It was hard to have nice hair in the Florida heat. Most of the time I have my disney cap on, because it was way to hot.

It's really not high-maintenance at all for me since my hair are naturally like that. I just have it cut once every month or two to keep them this way, but other than that I just use my blow dryer and a big round brush and that's how it comes out. I don't even put products in. They just come out like that :rotfl:

We ate another dinner at Planet Hollywood. That's how much JF loves the place.

Me

d-78.jpg

Shrimp Alfredo - Jumbo shrimp sauteed with garlic, fresh cream, Parmesan and basil served on a bed of linguini

JF

d-79.jpg

New York Strip - USDA choice 12 oz. strip steak chargrilled to order. Served with baked potato and fresh sautèed vegetables

Dessert for 2

d-80.jpg

Ghirardelli Double Chocolate Brownie

That baby was oh so good!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

The first time we ate at Planet Hollywood, they did not give us the dessert menu, instead they told us we had 3 choices of desserts to choose from. This time our server bought us the dessert menu telling us that we could choose any dessert we wanted but it counted for 2 dessert credits. I don't know why we didn't have the choice the first time around. That brownie was more than enough for 2, and it was way better than the dessert we had the first time. Go figure! :confused3

This is the small quick service restaurant right besides the Rose & Crown Pub. We just felt like eating another fish & chips.

The menu

d-88.jpg

We both had :

d-89.jpg

Very good, as usual!

The Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is beautiful! We decided to eat at the Grand Floridian Cafe. I was a little desapointed with my meal. I didn't remember I didn't like horseradish and the sauce had a bit in it  and my salad and my bun didn't taste all that fresh either. :sad2: JF loved his steak. And his potatoes were delicious.

The bread

d-84.jpg

Me

d-85.jpg

Grand Floridian Burger - Angus Chuck Burger, Lobster, Asparagus and Horseradish-Chive Hollandaise Served with Tomato Salad

JF

Dessert for 2

d-87.jpg

A Sweet Ending to Your Celebration... Dessert Sampler - Tiramisu, Chocolate Mousse, Key Lime Tart, and Lemon Cheesecake

Overall, I enjoyed the restaurant, it's beautiful and the service is great, but I would not order the Grand Floridian Burger again.

What a great little quick service location. We finaly got around to eat at the Starring Rolls Cafe and the food was delicious.

We both had :

d-81.jpg

Turkey Focaccia - with chips

Dessert

d-82.jpg

Breeze from the Keys & Strawberry Parfait

Everything tasted fresh, and we will surely eat here again this year.

I enjoyed Tony's. JF did not. He thought his meal was bland. Mine was delicious. Our server was really friendly, but he kept checking us out and at one point we felt rushed. I don't think we will eat here again this year.
