14 Day DVC/DCL vacation and a little confused about park ticket options

For our June trip,we will be going for a 14 day period with a 5 day DCL cruise in between for a total of 10 park days. Will the 10 day park hopper work for that scenario or when does it get cut off from the first activation day?

I have my AP but need to purchase 2- 10 day park hoppers . Can I purchase now through Undercover Tourist or must I wait till a certain time period closer to our trip?

Also, I assume that the ticket will not be activated until actual use thru a park entrance; is that correct?

You are correct. The tickets will not be activated until they are used. They will then expire 14 days from first use. You should be ok.
