Disney burgers are awesome.. there's more burgers to come too!

Great now I want a BBQ sandwhich! LOL I didnt realize CR had them!

Me neither! I was so happy when I saw them on the menu there, lol!

Great start. We fly from Manchester next month - can't wait!

Thanks! I'm flying back to Orlando next month from Manchester too.. but to work on DCL not for a vacation. Hope you have a good time :)

Great start! Looking forward to much more. Pictures look so yummy.:goodvibes

Thanks :)

My kind of review. Thanks so much! Waiting for more...

Thanks for reading!

great start - great pics. looking forward to more.

Thanks!!

Count me in! I love your pictures & reviews...I don't know why I like to torture myself by looking at all the yummy food photos here. It looks like you still get good portion sizes at Cosmic Ray's. Last year, I had the turkey bacon wrap and I couldn't believe the size!

Looking forward to your upcoming reviews...you have a good line-up!

Haha, I tortured myself on here weeks before I went with all the food porn. Yes we were really happy with the portion sizes at Cosmic Rays, especially the chicken.

Dinner – California Grill

I was so excited about taking my parents here. Our reservation was at 9.30PM but we were seated a little earlier. I was disappointed when we were taken to the back of the restaurant, but then happy to see we had a perfect view of Epcot and Illuminations! It was my first time seeing Illuminations since I’d worked there last year, so it choked me up a little bit.

This was our bread:

The butter was REALLY salty.

Entrees

DM didn’t see anything on the menu she liked, there was a lot of meat dishes. So she asked our server, and the chef was able to whip up a Vege Plate for her. Dry salad, pasta, hummus and olives.

P1100011.jpg

DM gave her meal a 5/10. She really appreciated the effort that was made, but it was just unfortunate that she dislikes hummus and olives! She said the pasta was very garlicy, and ate about half of the dish.

DF and I both had the Oak Fired Beef. This one was well done.

P1100012.jpg

DF and I loved our meal. It was amazing. The meat melted in your mouth, and the sauce was exceptional. The mash was great too but I would’ve preferred it without the small pieces of bacon through it.

DF says that this was his best meal on Disney property ever, and we have been coming since 1991.

Dessert

I chose the Chocolate Cake.

P1100016.jpg

And cut open...

P1100018.jpg

DF and DM both chose the Strawberry Shortcake

P1100015.jpg

I didn’t enjoy the chocolate cake. It was too rich, and I didn’t enjoy the cherry ice cream or compote. I usually love anything chocolate so this made me sad... lol.

DF and DM loved their dessert. I ended up wishing I’d got that instead. The white chocolate was especially amazing.

Overall I (or my DM) probably wouldn’t return to the California Grill, but my DF said that he would.

Next up... Day 3 - Sunshine Seasons, Cookes of Dublin and Kona Cafe!

Great reviews - shame that the food at Cali Grill didn't taste as good as those pictures look. Without reading it I would have headed for your Mum's entree.

The beef looks soooooooooo good! :D love the review :):)

Can't wait for the next part, would of liked to of seen the view myself even though its not food :D hehe

Day 3

Breakfast – Sunshine Seasons
(snacks)

I chose the Apple Danish

P1100058.jpg

DM chose the Key Lime Pie (one of her favourite things)

P1100060.jpg

DF chose grapes and Strawberry Shortcake

P1100061-1.jpg

P1100063.jpg

The Apple Danish was very filling and sweet. I couldn’t finish all of it but it was good. The grapes were too soft and too bitter, not good at all. The Key Lime Pie was tangy and melted in the mouth, and the Strawberry Shortcake was “just nice”.

Lunch – Cookes of Dublin

We parted ways for lunch today. I went to one of my favourite places – Cookes of Dublin

I had the Field Mushroom Pie with Chips, and Fruit Cup for dessert.

P1100122.jpg

And open...

P1100124.jpg

Fruit Cup

P1100125.jpg

This pie is so delicious. It must be one of my favourite things at DTD. It’s full of mashed potato too. The only thing I dislike about it is the field mushrooms, but it wouldn’t stop me ordering it. I couldn’t finish the chips, the meal was so filling. The chips have changed since last year. They used to be a lot thicker, but I still enjoyed them, just not as much as before.

The Fruit Cup was ok but I was too full for a dessert really. I sat inside at a little table of one.

Next up.. dinner at Kona Cafe!

That pie looks soo sooo good, i wish i could find one like it here right now :D

Can't wait to see kona review :) love the pics.

Im in and looking forward to your review of Kona Cafe. Im going for dinner in November as I have only had breakfast there.

Sign me up! Looking forward to more. Too bad about your mom's veggie plate at CG... it looks delicious!!

Dinner – Kona Cafe

The Hawaiian Bread with Macadamia Nut Butter

P1100130.jpg

Entrees

DM and I both chose the Asian Noodles, but DM had hers with Tofu instead of chicken.

P1100133.jpg

DF had the Shrimp and Scallops

P1100132.jpg

DM said the Asian Noodles with Tofu was excellent. Enjoyed the peanutty taste. I enjoyed the noodles too, but I miss the old noodles they used to have. They were a lot thicker.
DF thought the rice was very dry and needed sauce, he gave his meal a 6/10.

Dessert

For dessert, we all chose the White Chocolate Cheesecake.

P1100134.jpg

This is one of the best desserts on property. Amazing!

Up next... Day 4!

Wow the kona noodles look so different to how i remember them! Looked alot better before the change i think, looks really good though the cheesecake mm :D

The more I look at those noodles, the less I think my DS will like them. It doesn't look like many noodles at all. :guilty: I'm thinking we might have to skip Kona this trip. Sad, because I really want to try the Tuna Oscar.

My family and I have been to kona a couple of times and both experiences have epically stunk on ice. Maybe we just got unlucky.... Your review is making me think about trying it out again.

It all looks really good! Looking forward to more of your reviews :cool1:

It was sooo good! :cloud9:

Can't wait to read more ! Your food pix are awesome! :worship:

Thanks! It's making me hungry looking at them again.

that cheesecake looks yummalicious

It was delicious!

Great reviews soo far!

Thanks :)

Yep they are completely different :(

The more I look at those noodles, the less I think my DS will like them. It doesn't look like many noodles at all. :guilty: I'm thinking we might have to skip Kona this trip. Sad, because I really want to try the Tuna Oscar.

There was hardly any noodles, not like they used to be. I'd still choose this meal every time though.

My family and I have been to kona a couple of times and both experiences have epically stunk on ice. Maybe we just got unlucky.... Your review is making me think about trying it out again.

You should try it again. I've eaten at Kona maybe 5 or 6 times, and it's been excellent every single time.

Loving your reviews - short, sweet & to the point! Great photos as well! We're thinking about Kona on our upcoming trip & your photos look super delish!

Also this was our first experience of the CMs seating guests. We thought it was a very good system and liked the way it worked.

What?? I didn't know they changed this.
The apples were very fresh and crunchy. Caramel was really thick, hard to actually dip the apples in, but still good. A refreshing light snack.
I like the apples & caramel there too. If you let the caramel sit for a few minutes, it will warm up from being out of the refrigerator & is much easier to dip. :)

Day 4

Lunch – Riverside Mill

I had the Cheeseburger and a banana for dessert.

P1100175.jpg

I didn’t take a photo of the banana.......:lmao:

DM got the Fish Basket again, and Strawberry Sundae for dessert.

P1100176.jpg

P1100172.jpg

DF had the Chicken Nuggets and Fries, and the Strawberry Sundae for dessert.

P1100170.jpg

The burger was just as delicious and juicy as always. I didn’t get bacon this time. My parents decided they wouldn’t get the Strawberry Sundae again. They said it was too filling for a lunch dessert. Also we thought it was great that you could go and collect your ice cream after you'd eaten your meal. We didn't do that this time and the ice cream started melting.

Up next.... Hollywood and Vine!:cheer2:

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the burger looks sooooo good :) i can't wait to get one in november!!! first thing on my too do list :D
