13 Month AP Question

I called Disney but sometimes they are not the best source for their own information. I can purchase the AP vouchers before Jan 3 2017 but will not activate the AP's until July 2017. Disney told me that I would still get the 13 month perk when I activated my AP's as long as the vouchers are purchased before Jan 3rd. Has anyone else asked the same question with a different answer?

What I read seem to indicate you needed to active by Jan 3rd. They usually pull things out of the system after the special has passed. The closest I remember was during the recession when they offered AP's for an extended period (maybe 18 months?) Buying a voucher during that time did not mean you would still get that length of pass when you activated.

So essentially, no, I do not think that will happen.

And yet, I've read posts, here on the disboards, that you would have 18 months from the first day that the deal was offered to activate a voucher and receive the 13 months. IOW, with the first day of the offer being Oct. 2, 2016, you would have until April 2, 2018 to activate any AP voucher purchased between now and Jan. 3, 2017.

I will buy them anyways before the price increase so i will just have to try it and see. Going three times over the couse of a year but i will have to go late July 2017 then early July 2018. Rather not be locked into a certain week if it comes to that.

I was told you had to BUY the AP by Jan 3,2017 and then ACTIVATE no more than 18 months from then - in order to get the 13 month usage.

I've been wondering this too. My husband has a renewal number for our trip in a couple of weeks. We were wondering if he would get 12 or 13 months. We'll know soon.

Boy, do I wish I knew the answer to that! Both DH and I are in similar but opposite positions. I bought my AP outside the dates (back in August) but will be activating it next week. Will I get 13 months? And DH will be buying his soon, but not activating it until after January 3 (January 4th!) So will he get 13 months? At least we'll have one answer soon, but we'll just have to wait on the other.
