12 year old boys- where do they shop for clothes?

My sons mostly department store shop: Sean John, Akademics, Ralph Lauren, etc. My middle guy like Abercrombie for a while, but has decided only girls look good in it (boys...).

I know a bunch of my son's friends like Hollister...mine aren't into it, but it's huge here on Long Island.

When my son was 12 he wanted clothes from Abercrombie and Fitch, American Eagle, and occasionally Old Navy. Now that he's 13 (what a difference a year makes) he likes Hot Topic, Target, and "generic" clothes from Walmart. :confused3

Forgot about PacSun. He liked it at 12 and likes it even more at 13.

Hollister, AE, Pac Sun

You're lucky if you can get away with Old Navy, they are a tad cheaper.

My son is 12 years old, 5'3" tall, and about 110 lbs. Right now, the only jeans that fit him are the Arizona Jeans from JCPenney in a 16 slim. Levi's are too short for him for some reason. I'm sure that American Eagle jeans would fit him but I'm not quite ready to spend $39.50 plus tax on his jeans. And the slimmer men's sizes are NEVER on our clearance rack.

We get all of his shirts from American Eagle or H&M.

My son is about the same size and American Eagle size 26 jeans fit him great. We've found some at TJMaxx before.

My 12 year old DS is a big kid - 5' 10" and 170 lbs. He's not that picky about clothes, but he has started to state preferences. He likes the Vanity Fair outlet because they have several different brands - Lee, Wrangler and sports shirts. He also likes Hot Topic (not the goth clothes) and has started liking some items in Anchor Blue.

LOL.

Thanks for the help guys. We´ll definately be shopping for DS when we come over to the US in May. Target has a lot of cute summer outfits for girls but not so much for boys his age. He really isn´t that much into GAP but we´ll definately give AE, Aeropostale and Abercrombie a try. :)

I dont think 12 y/o's care as much at age 12 - to spend the kind of money AE, Aeropostale and Abercrombie, cost..... I have an 11 and 15 year old, both boys, and they NEVER cared for any of those places - ever.

They dont have a particular store they really like though, either. Both my boys like the T shirts at Hot Topic. They just seem to always have fun ones - My 15 year old has a Guns & Roses one (which cracked me up! "you want a WHAT T-shirt???") and a "Homey Dont Play That" one (remember In Living Color? ) My youngest likes the Mario ones they always have.

I think it depends on your child. And again - I wouldnt spend an arm and a leg on above places, for a 12 y/o boy.

My son is not picky about where his clothes come from at all. He is thirteen years old. He always finds something that he likes wherever we go. We have been going to Target and Kohl's for shirts and Jcpenney for jeans. We get the jeans when they are on sale. They last him a long time.

I have a 12 year old daughter, not a son, but at this age, they all seem to shop at the same places: American Eagle, Hollister, Aeropostale, and Abercrombie.

My DD is about the same size as your son, 5'1" and 86 pounds, and she has to buy her jeans elsewhere, because she's still too slim for the 00 sizes. I don't know if the boys' sizes run differently, though, so maybe you'll have better luck!

DS is quite a bit smaller. Just over 5' & 85 pounds. He almost always needs a "slim fit" in pants but we´ll definately check them out.

He wants nothing but Americiam Eagle, he is 5'2" and 85lbs. In Jeans/pants he wear AE 24" waist, 26" length. For shirts/hoodies an extra small, the vintage fit, fits better. I love it because it is so easy to shop for her there, he likes everything, and there is always stuff to fit him on the clearance rack. I buy shirts for my 10yr old, 50lbs, 54" DD there too. The other day I spent $60 and got, 2 short sleeve shirts, 2 long sleeve, a down vest, and 2 hoodies.
