12 x 12 paper sale!

Hi all,

For those with a Hobby Lobby close by I noticed in this week's ad that they are running 12 x 12 paper at 8 for $1! Now that is a good price!

My hobby lobby ad only has 12 x 12 for 4/$1. Do they have different ads in different locations? Eight for a dollar is a great deal.

I just got back from Hobby Lobby, where the 12 x 12" paper was 4/$1.00. The 8 1/2 x 11" paper was 8/$1.00. That's half their normal price, and it included handmade paper, as well.

Hmmm....I pulled the ad back out and it definitely had 12 x 12 at 8/$1 in ours...but then again our paper is FAMOUS (infamous ) for screwing things up. Guess this just proves they can even mess up a camera ready add. 4/$1 isn't so bad either - not as good but not bad.

Went to the sale and only got 4 12x12 pieces for $1. They did not have any white vellum, which is what I needed. I hope they will have 50% off all paper,including packaged paper, like they used to, soon.

Hey, Deb! It sounds like your newspaper is about like mine when it comes to accuracy. As for the sale . . . I still thought the prices were good. We only have one scrapbook store locally, so of course, they can charge pretty much what they want. Yesterday, I just happened to run into the Hobby Lobby about an hour from here, and believe me, 4/$1.00 and 8/$1.00 seemed like a steal, compared to what my LSS charges.

Keep on spreading the word when you hear something good. I'm always looking for a bargain.

My friend just came in to visit me briefly at work (I am a librarian) to tell me about the new Hobby Lobby that just opened here! My earlier post stated that we didn't have one here in St. Louis. WRONG! Now if I can only get there tomorrow which is the last day of the sale. My friend says the 12 x 12 paper is 4/$1.00 and 8 1/2 x 11" is 8/$1.00 at our store.

I went in to Hobby Lobby on Friday morning since we had a crop that afternoon and besides the paper was on sale!

I found that ONLY the "paper" paper was included. No velum, no handmade, no embossed. In fact there was some patterned heavier paper right in the middle of some regular weight and when I checked out the clerk said that was cardstock and not included.

I did mention that it seemed odd how none of the "specialty" papers were included as I had read in an online chat thread that some people were getting this at other Hobby Lobbys around the country.

Apparently stores have some leeway in interpreting the ads. She did say she would pass that information on to her manager but he tends to be very much a letter of the ad kind of guy.

One other thing she did say to watch for was an ALL paper 1/2 price sale. Apparently the stores have been asking for this and it may be coming up towards summer.

I checked out the Hobby Lobby web site & there aren't any in the Northesat/Mid-Atlantic area ... maybe some day.
