12 Days of Disney = 1 Happy Family! June 2011 TR (Update x2 7/19)

It’s been more than a month since I’ve posted….oops! The thing is, between school during the week, speech meets on Saturdays and church/homework on Sundays, I haven’t had much time! But this is my last week of speech and I’m in easier classes now, so that will leave more time for DIS-ing! Once again, sorry for the delays.

When I last left off, Thing2 had just finished her Padawan Mind Challenge. Because there was only about half an hour before the Hyper Space Hoopla, we walked over in front of the American Idol Experience building and sat down the pavement. The best tip I can give when attending Star Wars Weekends is to watch the Hyper Space Hoopla on the big screen from the AI building. It was way less crowded and we were able to sit down and still see, as opposed to everyone at the main stage, who were standing. The Hyper Space Hoopla was one of the best parts of the day for us, especially the dance off. Right as the show was ending, we had to leave so we could make it to Fantasmic in time for the show. We got to go in the back entrance because we booked the package with our dinner and that is a very long walk! We were able to get a good spot where we could all see, but it was very hot and crowded in the stadium, though that is to be expected in Florida during June. The show was great, as it always is. Thing3 especially loved it because she didn’t remember it prior to the trip. For the rest of the evening, we walked around humming the tunes to the songs in the show. As soon as the show ended, we hurried out to try and beat the crowds.

But we weren’t exiting just yet, we were headed for a last ride on Toy Story Mania with our last set of fastpasses.

Again, we had a great time on TSM. Thing2 and I really wanted to go to Magic Kingdom for EMH until 2 AM. However, Thing3 was exhausted from the heat and doing so much walking, so Dad volunteered to take her back to POR and let Mom go with us. We walked to the bus together, then went opposite directions.

As far as I know, Dad and Thing3 just went back to the room, took showers and went to bed. We arrived at MK right as the Electrical Parade was coming down Main Street. Surprisingly enough, there was room to watch, so we got to see the amazing parade once again! After the parade was over, we decided to make our way to Fantasyland. Our first ride of the night was the Winnie the Pooh ride. Thing2 and I loved the interactive line and we all loved the ride, as we always do. We wanted to ride Peter Pan; however the line was still really long, so we passed. Then, we went to Frontierland. Thing2 and I wanted to go on Splash Mountain, but Mom didn’t want to get wet, so she waited on a bench. The line was non-existent and we had a great ride. Once we found Mom again, we decided to ride BTMRR together. If I remember correctly, we rode twice, because there was not much of a line. I guess we just decided to keep criss-crossing across the park, because our next stop was Tomorrowland. We rode Space Mountain once, which had about a 10 minute wait. Next, we got in line for Astro Orbiter, which we almost never ride. The line for this took forever it seemed! It was at least 40 minutes, and there was hardly anyone waiting. I actually found the ride kind of scary, because I was in a rocket by myself and it was fast and the rocket was at an angle. I loved getting to see the castle all lit up and the Contemporary from the top though! After Astro Orbiter, we were exhausted. We walked past Peter Pan again on our way out, but the line was still long (even though the rest of the park was empty), so we made our way to the exit. We all got a seat on the bus and almost fell asleep on the ride back to POR. We got back to the room around 2 AM and were in bed and sleep by 2:30, realizing we wouldn’t get to EPCOT until mid-morning because of our late night. Thanks for reading (and hopefully sticking with me!)!

2 AM :worship: We could barely make it through wishes! I would love to do the late night adventure, but being are early riser means early to bed.

I love your little sisters smile!:)

We are definitely more night owls than early risers! I already know for a fact you made it to way more rope drops than we did!

Thank you! I'm rather fond of it too!

Going over to catch up on your TR now! :cool1:

What is it with that Peter Pan ride!?! It is ALWAYS crowded. The only time we ride it is when we get to the parks for morning EMH and go to it RIGHT away! Sounds like you still got a full night of fun! (And even a bit of the morning!)

All caught up! It stinks how life gets in the way of Disney obsession! I love the picture of the three of you in front of the star wars sign! I can't wait until summer when I will have more time to Dis!

Hey girl! I just found your TR link the other day, and I just read the whole thing! I'm really enjoying it. You're a great writer! Also, that's awesome that you're a vegetarian. I wish I could do that haha. :goodvibes

I don't know! It's always crazy-crowded! That's what we do! And yes, we did have lots of fun!

Thank you! Did you do anything special with your family?

I read about Finn's surgery on your TR, how scary! Thank you! I look forward to the summer too! There just isn't enough time for everything during the school year!

Hey! Thanks for coming over! I'm so behind on your TR...but don't worry, I'll try and catch up this afternoon! Thank you! Actually, in the past few months I've been trying to eat a little bit of meat because I've had a couple of bad injuries because of muscle problems. :)

The original plan for today was to be at EPCOT right at opening. However, we didn’t exactly go to bed until after 2 AM, throwing that plan out the window. My sisters and I do not exactly function well on a limited amount of sleep. We had a lunch ADR at Le Cellier at 1 PM.

Around 10 AM we finally woke up and got ready for the day. I think we got to EPCOT around noon. The first thing we did was ride Figment (no surprise there!). Thing3 was in heaven, as usual. After that, we began the long trek to World Showcase. I seriously thought I was going to melt into the pavement. It didn’t help much that I had on a t-shirt instead of a tank top.

When we finally arrived in Canada, my sisters and I went to look in the gift shop while my parents checked us in. They had a game in the gift shop where there were different stuffed animals hidden throughout the store and you had to find them. Once we found them all, we returned them to the counter and we all got stickers! I wish I remembered more about the Canada gift shop and pavilion as a whole, because we are going there this summer! I do remember lots of hockey stuff! :rotfl:

We walked down to meet my parents and just a few minutes later we were seated. They had a prixe fix menu available for lunch, so I got the cheddar cheese soup, gnocchi and I believe the chocolate mousse for dessert. The rest of the family got steaks and some sort of desserts…I guess I should have taken pictures! Following the amazing meal, we began a new game entitled, “Take a Picture with a Hat from every Country around World Showcase”! Because we were there already, the first country had to be Canada!

663.jpg

Sometime before lunch we’d picked up a Kimmunicator because we did one of the missions in the United Kingdom. My sisters and I enjoyed it, although there was some squabbling over who got to hold it, press the buttons, etc.

(Where we are probably going next summer!)

Before we left the United Kingdom, we had to get another hat picture.

668.jpg

Next, we walked to France. Before we got our hat picture though, we got some delicious treats from Boulangerie Patisserie. I got a Napoleon, Thing2 got an éclair and I believe Thing3 got an apple turnover type pastry.

After taking the obligatory hat photo, we continued around the World to Morocco. We didn’t really do much in Morocco except take a picture by the front of the pavilion and take our hat picture.

At this point, we were so overheated that anytime I saw a bench with room, I plopped myself down!:rotfl2: We decided to head to the Magic Kingdom for the night, so we took the boat back to Future World (it was way too hot to walk!). Next time: the Magic Kingdom! Thank you so much for reading!

I love the hats around the world...we ended up doing that too, totally by mistake!

I love the picture of you, your sisters and mom in front of the gardens in Canada...very pretty!

So glad to know that my children were not the only ones to have issues with who got to hold the Kim Possible control!

I so hope you get to go to the UK next summer...it is an amazing place especially if you love British History!

I love the 'hats around the world' challenge! Hahah how cute! DANG girl, so you're saying you have 2 Disney trips, a trip to Canada AND a trip to the UK on the horizon? I'm officially jealous!

The hats around the world game was so fun! We've done it by mistake in the past, but this time we made it a priority!

Thank you! The Canada pavilion is very pretty!

:rotfl: No worries, we had some squabbles too!

I hope we do too! Everyone wants to go, we just are waiting to see how expensive it will be and see if it's feasible (I'm not sure if I spelled that right...).

Thank you! YES! I'm excited too! As it stands now, we are going to Washington D.C. in 3 weeks for Spring Break, Canada and Michigan with my mom's family this summer, hopefully Disney in January 2013, hopefully Europe 2013 and if my dreams come true, Disney World for a longer trip in 2014! I like to plan my Disney trips far in advance to give me something to hope for! :rotfl2:

Great update!

Loved the Hat Challenge, I think I may have to steal your idea next February when we are back at WDW!

Thank you!

Steal away, as long as I get to hear about it when you get back! :rotfl:

Are you doing a TR or PTR?

And did I see that right, 29 days until Aulani?? :cool1:

It you do get to London next summer...make sure you check out Universal Studios over there...they have opened up the sets of HP! It officially opens sometime this month, and from the pictures I have seen it will be amazing to HP fans!

Thank you for that tidbit! I'll have to show my parents! The pictures do look amazing! :thumbsup2

When I last left you day-dreaming about sunny Florida, we were just leaving EPCOT. Where were we headed to next? The Magic Kingdom! We took the monorail to the TTC and transferred to ride all the way to the Magic Kingdom. When we got into the park, the first thing we did was get fastpasses for BTMRR, since that is an attraction we all enjoy. Then, we walked to Tomorrowland. The first thing we did was ride the TTA (Peoplemover?). How I wish I was riding that now… I believe the next thing we did was visit Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor. While I love the show, I’m always terrified to get picked! Following the show, we went and ate dinner at Pecos Bill’s. I had a taco salad and the rest of the family had burgers.

By this point, it was time to use our fastpasses, so we walked over to BTMRR. We all rode together and then Thing2 and I rode standby once because the line was non-existent. Just for fun, we spent the entire ride screaming, pretending we were scared because we were on a roller coaster while it was dark out. As we were leaving Frontierland, we were walking next to a couple talking about “some annoying children screaming for the entire ride”. Thing2 and I just giggled to ourselves. It’s a roller coaster in a theme park, not a silent yoga class. We weren’t obnoxiously screaming in their ears, we were just pretending to be scared. Ugh, some people just get on my nerves! Anyway, then we walked to Adventureland, where we took a quick ride on Pirates of the Caribbean before making our way to Fantasyland. We rode the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh because there was a very short line. After that, we were getting tired, but we decided on a quick ride on It’s a Small World before we left.

Dad took a picture of my favorite dolls!

Finally, we saw Wishes as we walked down Main Street, towards the buses. Back at POR, Thing2 and Thing3 got a snack before we all headed back to the room for showers and to go to bed. We needed to be well rested because the next day was Thing2’s birthday! Thanks for reading!

YAY MK! Hahaha, goodness, some people need to loosen up! I bet if they had joined in on the screaming instead of being annoyed, they would have had a lot more fun! It's Disney World, yall. Hahha oh well. :confused3

Hooray for SMALL WORLD! Hahha it's a classic, gotta love it. Right now I'm a little jealous of Thing 2, celebrating my birthday at Disney is a dream of mine!

I love your park hopping! what a great way to end the evening! Ab and I screamed on a ride for the fun of it too...loads of fun, sorry you had fun haters along for the ride! I must admit...wish I was on the people mover right now, too! And to think I planned on skipping it!

I didn't know the new rule was dead silence on a roller coaster. Those people need to get over themselves!
