12/5/09 -- DUMMY -- The Cruise Your Heart Desires Most ; )

I already sent her links to Barb's pics of her Baltic cruise:blush:
Really, if I could, I would drag everyone from the EB PC Repo and "make" them go on my next cruise.
I miss everyone horribly.

We're thinking about it. Possibly the Med one though in August. Priced Adventures by the Disney. The Cruise seems cheap in comparison.

exactly! :thumbsup2 Of course I'd love to see you again too!

:goodvibes

Hey Steph you'll appreciate this....Cade got a lead role in the middle school play Guys and Dolls. If you'll remember he played Rolf in the elementary school play of Sound & Music last year. He's all excited to get back on stage! Too bad he & Elvis didn't hook up in the kids club. I think they would've gotten along great since they appear to have a lot in common. :goodvibes

Tell him *Congratulations!* Find some community theaters! Boys (that are good) are few and far between! LOL! Girls (that are good) are a dime a dozen!
It is a shame they didn't meet!
Dh has been talking to Elvis about taking some dance classes..... Dh really doesn't like theater stuff BUT, he told Elvis that if this is what he wants to do he had better do things to constantly improve his performance. ;)

Yes, it does. They are wonderful vacations but, the price can be scarey!

With ABD you have to factor in everything that the vacations are covering. Accomodation, quite a few meals, all your excursions, transportation. Quite a bargain when you factor that in, if you can afford it. We are looking at the Rome /Tuscany / Pompei ones as they would have the most interest for the kids. They would just be like a taste then we could go back another time. I'm a little leary to go on our own - too many logisitics I would have to figure out.

Looking at the cruise - cost is going to be about $20,000 min. by the time we factor in flights/excursions/exchange rate/etc. Not sure, we want to go that route just now. The one major draw back is only one sea day - the Med ones are Port intensive and I won't want to stay on the boat for a day off. We all like having the sea days. The REPO would be perfect - if only it wasn't in April/Sept for schooling. Both kids would be in highschool for the SEPT one - definite no go for pulling out for that length of time - no matter how educational it would be.

We LOVED the ABD we did in August '07. I really felt we got our moneys worth.
This is the same ABD that Jon & I are considering...... We have friends going on the other Italy one BUT, we REALLY want Rome. With out Rome we wouldn't even want to go to Italy. Jon went to Rome (pleasure trip) 2 yrs ago to *scout* it out for a family trip. We knew we had to wait for Claire to ge *bigger* -- not just older but, physically larger.
She is so small....although she is up to 38lbs!!!! And about 44". :goodvibes

If we could afford the ABD, we would love to do one of those::yes::

DH was saying that is cheaper to cruise DCL across the Atlantic than it was to fly across:rolleyes:
If it wasn't for school we would have gone for the Repo.
The Med looks great, but Italy is a place I've wanted to visit by land-too much for a cruise- at least for me.
The Baltic has 4 sea days-one at the beginning, one in the middle and 2 at the end. I think I'm going to be sleeping a lot on those last 2 sea days with all the walking in the ports:rotfl:
We would love to have you on the Baltic with us:rolleyes1

I so want to see Rome and Venice, someday. We have our plate full for the time being though:upsidedow
You gotta post pics for us when you go to Italy. I'll live vicariously through your pics:goodvibes

Thinking about it. Ken's Dad is from Sweden - do that is a draw. Plus, my family is from Scotland. The airfare is a killer though for us. Although, into London isn't so bad.

It's also our 20th wedding anniversary in the October - so thinking about just the two of us doing a 7 day then.

Too many choices......

The airfare is insane::yes::
We almost decided not to go because of it.
Really liked the ports for a cruise though.
One of the woman on our thread posted pics of her Baltic cruise last year.
Maybe this will help-pics start on page 221 and go to 227. No pics of Scotland or Sweden though.

Thanks. I'll have a look in a bit. I've been to Scotland and Ken has been to Sweden, so we have an idea of what we are going to. Talked to the kids tonight and they are not too keen on the Med because of it being Port intensive. I need to look into airfare to London.

The airfare was what almost kept us from booking, but we really love the ports on this cruise. We'd really enjoy the chance to cruise with you and your family again.

We are trying to figure out when we will fit it all in! LOL! And Samantha just wants us to make sure that we arrange things so that she can still go with us -- she turns 18 in a couple of months and she graduates HS this year......

Hi Debi,
Married life is great! We've settled in to our routine and are looking to buy a house of our own soon, and then babies with a cruise thrown in for good measure!!

That sounds like my 25dd's life! LOL!

I'm glad that y'all are in your *groove*! Married life is fantastic!!!! :goodvibes

:rotfl: We went on the 4 day just to see if we liked cruising. Then, came the TOAL, + 2 future bookings. It's an addiction..... like Lay's potato chips one is never enough...... :goodvibes

Isn't that the truth...Jon tried to get me to go for YEARS.....Our first one was in Oct '05....2nd one...Feb '06...third one....Sept '06..Yes, 3 in less then 1 yr.....:rotfl2:
And then 2 yrs until the 4th one... Of course that one was the best of all since I meet...y'all! LOL! Although that 3rd one was pretty great......I have quite a few friends from that one, also. Right, Cheryl? :goodvibes

We started with a 3-day.

Then a 4-day.

Then another 4-day.

Then a 7-day.

Then we did another 3-day (my parents' first cruise, so we did a short one.)

Then the 15 night TOAL!

Now we're booked on a 12-day.

After 15 and 12 days, it'll be hard to do another 7 day. I'm sure it will seem so short.

Our last two were 10nts & 15nts........ And the idea of going shorter doesn't sound appealling.....
