7/18/2010. Anyone else?

We're going to try for that cruise too. If we can't come up with the money for that one, we may look into doing a similar itinerary on RCCL, or we may just push it forward and keep our fingers crossed for 2011. It's a really big "if" we can do this, especially right now. But I will have been working full-time for a year by then, so it may be doable.

Ok..I thought I would post my plans for my ABD trip...

I will be in Philly on Aug 6th (night before trip starts - not sure of flight yet) and also have a free evening on August 8th.

I will be in DC on August 10th & 11th with free evenings

I will be in VA on August 12th with a free evening.

On August 15th - I will arrive at WDW until Aug 21st. Flying home on the
22nd. So if anyone is planning to go at that time or live in the area - would love to see you!

I am so not going to remember that for 10 months!

We are also thinking of doing a 5-night but with 2 stops at Castaway Cay instead of Key West. I was told we would get the 10% but the OBC would drop to $100.

No love for Nassau either. I just think 5 days is just not long enough.

We're in.....I am booking off site with our timeshare Aug 7-22nd and would love to meet up with you all.

Due to loosing our shirt, and our retirement (we actually owned quite a bit of Freddie Mac ) in the stock market this week we have to cancel plans for our Grand Cayman vacation this April . Airfare was $3000+ out of Boston and $1600 out of NYC. It was just too much.

If anyone has some disposible income and would like a 2 bedroom, on the beach in Grand Cayman, 4/18 - 4/25, PM me for the details.

Grand Canyon was the original plan. Now I'm thinking Grand Canyon with a jump over to DL.

And, we watched the Samantha Brown Mediterranean cruise last night. Both my boys said it looked like a great cruise, and the only thing that would make it perfect would be if it was on the disney ship. This would knock out any larger vacation for summer 09.

If you are planning Grand Canyon, its worth it to stay in the park, great views, no commute/line at gate, etc. But you need to book now for next summer.

If you go to the Grand Canyon.... You need to go to Zion National Park in Southern Utah (not that far from the GC). It is such a dry heat that even in July with temps around 100 you can go hiking! It's wonderful! I liked Zion & Yosemite better then the Grand Canyon (I know they are totally different types of Parks BUT, I thought I would throw in my 2 cents worth... )

Southwest is in our plans. Have to see how his health is. My photography Prof was Ansels #1 fan and had us shooting in b/w high grain film. Man he loved that guy.

Still hot here and rainy most afternoons. Am trying to do Epcot tomorrow am. Hopefully we can avoid the t-storms.DH had his reunion with his brother and niece today. It was a bit bittersweet as SIL passed away in Feb. They are doing well. He is enjoying doing nothing for the first time.

Well Tina and Kaitlin made it safely to DC. They don't have internet but do have cell phone....

I was looking to see what's pretty cheap to do downtown. I noticed that the National gallery is opening an exhibit of landscapes (oceans oceans or something like that) but Ansel Adams is one of the feature artists...

Sounded good to me. Along with the cursiery trip to East wing and possibly some other museums on that end.

Although i did tell Tina it would be cool to finally see baby fat pants in person (ie Tai Shan... one of the National Zoo's Pandas)

If anyone else wants to join us, send me a pm.... Probably looking at around 11am on Sunday (since that's when the museums open)...
