12/5/09 -- DUMMY -- The Cruise Your Heart Desires Most ; )

After Tom (CaptainCrash) used the posting information for the wrong thread, in a solo tribute to him I decided to look-up an image of an insane or mad Captain. Instead I came across the following web-site............

Yes, tomorrow the 19th of September is the International Talk Like A Pirate Day so as the site says, Try it out. Let go, have a beer, burp in public. Say "Aarrr!!" pirate:

Thanks David for the info on Pirate Day. Now it gives me an excuse to take whats mine (or at least half) and go spend some of John's money!!pirate: pirate:
Aarrr!pirate:

I was sure fun for Arlene and me to talk to Helen for maybe an hour or two.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :cloud9: :cloud9:

During the call I managed to sleep, wake-up, load the dishwasher, empty the dishwasher, get the clothes in, off the washing line, have a grocery order delivered, receive the grocery, put the groceries away, speak to Alex on the other phone, and you were STILL talking after all that.

This was in the Sunday article of our Travel Section. I guess DCL will not be going down in price after this!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Wow, How did I get way up there:confused3

Oh, wrong list, figures:rolleyes: :lmao:

DH wants to know if anyone is serious about the Aruba trip....He is now interested.

He also now wants to get to know y'all. I told him to post like the rest of us then. ;)

Aruba -- I also looked at a couple of *all inclusives* for that timeframe..... around $1400 - $1600 pp. I think that was 4 nts.

Darren and I figured that if we left the kids at home with his mother we could afford to go back to Aruba in the not too distant future:thumbsup2 :woohoo:
(Not sure if we can manage the all inclusive price though)
Are we celebrating Mike's graduation in May in Aruba:confused3

Funny thing is that now when I start to relay things to him about what folks post, he tells me "I know, I read that already" He's been lurking a bit. I'm trying to get him to post too, but he already posts on a watch forum and an umpiring forum so he claims not to have the time:headache:

He does complain A LOT about how much we missed not hanging out with you guys in the evenings:guilty:

Much to my embaressment, Helen had a knife / corkscrew confiscated at MCO as well:rolleyes: I was annoyed that she had left it in her hand-luggage but it is for the best.

We would love to return to Aruba. What were the dates being looked at?

The 3rd weekend in May? I think..... Thrusday - Sunday?

We had lovely TSA memo's too. And whats funny was one of them was in our FE & door magnet luggage. To tell you the truth...I would have no idea if anything was missing.
I realized a week after we got home that I could not find my watch and a bracelet. Then discovered I had not seen my entire jewelry bag since coming home. So we took all the luggage back down from the rafters, unbagged them and sure enough....wrapped all safe and sound in my quilted hanging organizer was my jewelry bag with my necklaces, bracelts and watches! LOL That was a relief.
Also, I really noticed our luggage got trounced during this trip...way more then normal. My beloved Pooh bear luggage had large pieces of plastic on the inside edges that was shattered, 1 handle strap broken off of my daughters new luggage, 1 front zippered pocket completely torn off on another and 1 pull handle broken.

That sounds like what happened 2 yrs ago toour luggage. It looked like one piece had been run over -- there was a tire mark across the front..... A handle was off another one....2 had at least one zipper broke.....

Funny!!!! I think the only person that hates Pirates (or has publicly stated something to that effect..) is that Englsh gentleman on another thread that was on the 15 nt.......

The *all inclusive* price might have been for too many days/nts... I can't remember what dates I put in!
I don't know why dh doesn't post! I know for a fact that he read the thread the first year (when I only read a couple of times!!!) because he was always telling me what was going on or sending me links that y'all posted about different ports, etc....
I think he feels it will interfere with his gaming time! :rotfl: He plays COV/COH & a little WOW.

I was trying to get DS14 to look up your DH on WOW, but he is horribly shy:rolleyes:
Ok DS just came in and says it wasn't that he was shy- it was because he is on a different server:confused:
I'm not a gamer :confused3

DH just came home (with DS) and has priced a flight from Va to Aruba in May for $400 pp (round trip):woohoo:
That's not bad, right:confused3

He insists Tom31b wants to go back to Aruba so bad because he doesn't remember his last trip too well:rolleyes1 (Love those Aruba bus videos)

Dang....that figures. DS's wedding looks like it will be 5/16/09, so unless it is after that it would not be possible for us and I believe the following weekend is Memorial Day weekend. I will watching your continued plans about this, as I think it would be fun....and possibly replace our possible cruise in late April or early May.

OK...

It's been sort of busy today and this is the ONLY posting I will make to the DIS today.

AND may I say ... I accept your kind compliments on my crazed travel and IMAGE posting thoughts. Frankly, I'd LOVE to do a World Cruise... however the time is not quite right yet. And besides... Disney is not doing any heavily discounted REPO sailings running EASTWARD from Port C to California yet... so until thatday comes the world cruise shall remain in limbo off to the side of my travel plans.

Anyways - I gotta run to pick up my daughter from her BROWNIE meeting. Then I expectshe will dominate my afternoon - then we'll all run out for supper and there goes my evening.

Alicia is still away and not expected back to relieve me of parenting chores til later this evening ,,, where upon I'll run off for a while.

Oh... and we're shifting out Big Island plans into the late summer of 09 it seems because we were waiting for friends to finalize thier plans to join us and the frequent flyer slots evaporated. So now its' cow-a-bunga baaayyy-bbeeeee in AUGUST most likely! And maybe Alicia will shop HK in April without me ... but maybe with Julianna if our shopping friends don't get bakck to us quicker. And the NCL or Princess cruise next month is firming up - we're just waiting for a colleauge to confirm they will cover for Alicia before we book it. And it looks as if it will be Princess by a nose....

Cheers folks! Remember to be nice out there!

Cheers to all - have a wonderful day.

DH and both older sons are big wow'ers too.....its a whole other addiction! LOL
Boy you're not kidding about it being an addiction:laughing: My DS would spend an entire day playing WOW if we let him:headache:
(DS is looking over my shoulder right now hoping to get on for a "few minutes" before bed:rolleyes: )

CSI Miami had a great episode about gaming addiction.

He's on my list, I remember every minute!
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Don't worry his pics didn't come out very well.

Cheers folks! Remember to be nice out there!

Cheers to all - have a wonderful day. [/CENTER]

Hey Crash:yay:

Ooooh! I found you all :thumbsup2

We didn't book the same dummy date, but we don't plan to actually sail when we booked. We booked the first week in November 2009 since if we won the lotto or something and decided to actually use the cruise that would be a good week for us. The plan is to move it to something in 2010.

We would LOVE to sail with this group again! It was a blast!!!

I like the idea of the Baltic, but have no idea if we'll be able to afford it. Airfare and the terrible exchange rate don't look real good right now... Once we see what DCL is actually offering, we'll make some decisions. I'd love to do a longer cruise again, since even 15 days wasn't enough time ;)

Pamela

Tina - Love the siggy
M - Hope the interview went well!

That sounds like a great price! Might be worth a road trip to the VA airport. I'm seeing closer to $700 pp!

Oh good! Can you tell me what happened??

:)

Don't worry. What happens in Aruba stays in Aruba! Right? Right?
