12/29/2010 5 night New Years "Dream" of the Magic

We are heading to Denver today and fly in late tomorrow, staying at the port.

Hope the NE storms clear out for folks traveling from there.

See ya wednesday morn nice and early.

When you drive through Ft Collins I'll wave at ya!

We also have a later flight tomorrow, so happy we don't connect in Atlanta. Busy today getting the odds and ends done.. checking the packing and seeing what doesn't fit anymore. Procrastinators.

My kids think that someone is going to show up with a Shirley Temple any minute now and I'm wondering who is going to make my bed in the morning.... :scared1:

Thank you all for the fabulous FE gifts. My kids (and I) loved them. I was a newbie at FE and realized that my delivery method was very flawed.....:confused3 sooooo, I know that one of you didn't get my paperbag scrapbook as I shoudn't have any left over and I have one :confused3:confused3:confused3. I'd be happy to mail it to you if you want to PM me with the details. I'm usually very organized but this time I was not.

I hope you all had as great a time on the cruise as we did. It was just so much fun!

Thanks for the great gifts all!!! My kids loved getting them and I am impressed at how creative some of you are!!! The cruise was even better than I'd dreamed. It's official, I am addicted and already plotting how to convince my husband we should go on another cruise, especially after seeing the Dream. Shh - don't tell him but I booked one for 2012! It was great to meet some of you in person!

Hello - everyone!!! We just arrived home to South Dakota and 16 degree weather. Wish I could go to Lumier's for supper.:headache:

Thank You Thank You Thank You to everyone for the wonderful FE gifts. So thoughtful and creative and fun!!! Made the trip so very special.

Yes - Kenny Rogers was on the ship. I have pictures that I will post this week so keep an eye on this thread.

We thought the NYE party was awesome and were astounded by all the extra gifts bestowed by DCL. We also were very excited to see the Dream up close. What a special treat for us all on the boat this week.

As soon as I get pictures posted I will let you all know.

P.S. I saw the logo a couple places (magnets, FE gifts, etc) So glad you you guys liked it and were able to use it.

P.P.S. Who wants to go back next NYE?!?!?! Me too!!!!!

How was the weather at the islands? Were you able to enjoy CC or was the water cold?

We are heading down in a couple of weeks and i am starting to get real nervous about weather

Our first day there was a little chilly but the kids still got in the water and also went on the wave runners. The second day there (Jan 2nd) was gorgeous. It was in the low 80's and very comfortable. The water was still chilly but the kids didn't mind and DH did a little snorkling.

We didn't have time for bike riding or playing games.... too much to do and too little time and the beach was just too much fun!

We are waiting at the airport for our flight home.

Thanks all for the wonderful FE gifts! You were all so creative! It was so great to see the Dream! WDW was really crowded, we thought the holiday season would be over, but I guess not. It was great to meet those of you that we did, and sorry we missed those of you that we did not run into.

Have a great day all!

How was the Service? Earlier Cruises were really complaining about the service quality as there were so many new servers.....we are sure hoping that it will improve as the team gets more experienced. How did you find it?

Thanks everyone for the FE gifts, the kids were totally confused about it, because I didn't really have time to explain it to them, they kept asking who we were giving gifts to, why, why we were receiving gifts, and how did we know these people - LOL. We dropped off our gifts on our way out to Castaway Cay on day 1, and I thought I saw someone else running around doing the same thing, but didn't get a chance to stop and ask them and say hi.

The kids were always happy to receive gifts every day, I definitely will do this again next cruise. Hope everyone liked our FE bags! Not sure if there was a get together, but next time it would be nice to meet you all.

We are definitely hooked on cruises now, I'm sitting at work and I still feel like I'm rocking back and forth - LOL. It'll probably be another few years to save up for our next cruise, we were totally spoiled by being in concierge and I don't think I can cruise any other way now :) I guess we could book side by side staterooms (we liked having our own bedroom away from the kids and also two bathrooms)... Saving up for either the later half of 2012 or 2013!

The cabana on Castaway Cay was really nice, too!

Service was good - it wasn't until Day 4 that our server really knew us, though, and we were impressed because he brought us our appetizers without taking our order and he was spot on, he did the same with dinner and dessert! The cruise was too short - I'm going to look at 7-11 day ones from now on :)

My DS12 went out and about the whole cruise and met a lot of friends his age, not sure if any were from our forum here, but he had a blast. DD8 had an okay time, I don't think she had enough time to settle into the kids clubs, but she did participate in some things after I had a chat with the Youth Activities manager - we left her in there for 5 hours on the sea day, and she didn't have any lunch! I was not pleased about that.

Here is my picture of Kenny - taken during the sail away party. We saw him several other times - couple times at Castaway Cay, and one night up on Deck 4 by the mid elevators. Looks like his whole family was with him.

I am wondering about the weather too. Just got home from the eastern cruise, and Dec. 30/31 were chilly, but warmed up as we got further south. By Jan. 5 when we arrived on CC, the weather was in the mid to high 70's. Currently, we are booked on the 8 night eastern NYE cruise, but we would love to do the Dream 2 x 5 day cruise starting Dec. 29/11. Just concerned that it will not be warm enough. What was Nassau like?

I was thinking about going on this cruise for 2011. Can someone tell me the special events they host on the cruise for New Years? Thanks in advance.

The day we spent in Nassau ( Dec 31st) was beautiful, very warm and sunny!!! :)

We got a very pretty chocolate box and a litograph as souvenirs for the NY Cruise. Also on NYE there was a beautiful party on deck 9! They gave away hats, tiaras and horns. After the countdown there was a buffet, and they served lot of champagne at no extra charge. You could keep the glasses, they were really pretty!
