12/29/2010 5 night New Years "Dream" of the Magic

Almost everything ready! We'll be leaving for Orlando on the 27th ( didn't want to take chances with snow and bad weather) , staying the the All Star Movies prior to the cruise.

See you all onboard the Disney Magic!!!!!!!!!

Will there be any Dis Meets onboard???

As far as I know, there is not offical meet & greet set up.

Okay gang, only 2 days left and then we're off to Orlando, the only luggage I packed (which is full and close to weight capacity, btw) is the one with all the FE presents in it! :lmao: I haven't had a chance to go to Michael's yet so will be doing that tonight, then it's down to some major packing.

On Tuesday night I finally finished all the t-shirts, 30 of them in all, I had to reprint 10 of them (good thing I had extra paper, too bad I had to use it), because I flipped the image thinking it had to be backwards and it turned out it didn't need to be (note to self - always read instructions!) Then I followed the instructions and washed the shirts, and 5 of them got damaged beyond repair, a few of them got faded, and the rest are okay...kind of disappointing, but at least some of my favorites were still fine. Now I wish I didn't follow the instructions and just had the kids wear them first before washing them, they would have looked awesome for at least a couple of days of use!

I'll try to check the board while I'm in WDW, but probably won't have time to write, will check in whenever I can.

See you soon!

What a great Bithday gift. Your wife is very lucky!

Pirate night-- you do not have to dress up for, but you can if you want. I think dressing up for pirate night is more a "disboard" thing. Anyone who doesn't read the "dis" will not know to dress up. Personally, my family doesn't dress up for pirate night. For six people I would need a whole suitcase just for pirates costumes.

That is why we have more often just taken the pirate t-shirts!

Have a great trip - see you on board!

Have a great day all!

Just a bump to get us back on the first page!

Have a great day all!

I will be very busy this week; DD's Birthday, laundry & packing. We leave on Thursday night.

Wednesday is my youngest DD's 11th Birthday. So, I need to make cookies for school and a birthday cake for home. I also need to get her presents wrapped.

I have a couple of formals & semi-formals I need to try on... make sure they fit.;)

The kids loft area if full of suitcases & clothes. Last night we pack for the girls and tonight we will pack for the boys. Thankfully, the kids our old enough to help. :) I just sat on the floor with my list and had them go and get what was needed.

I pray the weather at WDW keeps improving...we have tickets for MVMCP on Friday night! I keep checking the weather... it says Hi 75 & low 57. I can't decide if we will need heavy coats & gloves or just heavy sweatshirts. The past few years we have needed to heavy coats at the end of Dec. I guess will keep checking, until we leave for the airport.

Well my FE pockets are almost done - that was quite the little craft project. I have bought lots of goodies for everyone - but still looking for some stuff for those of you who don't have little ones in your room - although who knows, you might all want stickers and crayons

We have our hotels booked for the night before and night after, Country Inn and Suites and LaQuinta - both seemed to have some good reviews.

Have yet to work on any magnets, and not sure we will get to them. Have a lots of traveling to family to get done before we leave on our cruise. Kinda weird, this year I am feeling like I just want to get past Christmas so I can get on with my CRUISE!:yay:

Kids are getting super excited. Every day our littlest asks what day we leave for "Mickey's Boat". Our first Disney Cruise was a Make a Wish trip for our little girl, she was born with a severe heart defect and has had 3 open heart surgeries and a pacemaker as well as learning and development delays. That trip was such a magical experience we have been saving ever since to go back. DCL is just truly special and we feel so blessed to be able to experience it again with our little Leila.

Hope everyone is coming along on their planning and preparations! Just two weeks now til we go!!

My to-do's are-
hotel for night before and register on line

I am purposely taking it easy and eliminating all stress on this cruise. We aren't planning to go into Nassau or have any preplanned excurtions. Very 'whatever' and I love it! We'll start packing after Christmas.

Went to Office Max last night and they had magnetic paper buy 1 get 1 free so I picked some up. I am debating about packing. How do you plan for such a huge span of possible temps? I think we'll just wear our fleece coats on the plane and bring gloves and hats, but I can't imagine that we would need our winter coats??? At least I hope not!!!

Laurie

Been there, done that. Packed two extra suitcases on the 2004 Christmas Cruise and dressed up all 13 of us in pirate costumes that I had made for everyone......won't do that again! HA

Arrgh Matey! But wasn't it fun when you did! pirate: I know with the luggage restrictions it's tough now. But on the PC cruise it was a blast. We still pack our t-shirts and felt hats when we can.

ENJOY your cruise! Wish we were going too!!!

Great deal on the magnetic paper! I just pack in layers! I don't carry a "winter" coat with me, but I do have a fleece jacket that travels well, and a light weight fleece hat and gloves that go with me - they do not take up much room, but I have them if it gets cold, and have it with me when I hit the cold coming back home!

We usually pack t-shirts and big silk (nylon) scarves to tie around our heads! I do not know if we will pack the whole costumes again - they do take up quite a bit of space for one night!

if it is still possible to ship things ahead of time to our stateroom? Would love to ship the FE gifts to the ship if possible..

Do you think that u will use gloves and hats. Now I don't know what to pack... Since the temp here in Puerto RIco is 70 to 80 I'm wondering if I should pack very warm cloth... I even wonder if I should pack a coat... What do u think???

I hope we won't need gloves and hats, but I'm going to bring our fleece coats and a fleece hat and those thin gloves for each just in case. We'll be in Orlando for a couple of days and right now the low temp at night is forecasting low 40s so we might need them and I don't want to shell out a fortune in the park for them if the kids start complaining. I am still hoping this is just a cold snap and it will be gorgeous by the time we're there!

I'm going to stay in Orlando one week after the cruise... I guess I will pack some extra warm cloth. Thanks for the info!!!:thumbsup2

I believe that, just to be on the safe side, you should pack winter gear... Weather can be pretty unpredictable and you wont' want to pay the steep prices for the merchandise on the gift shop...

I am coming from Michigan, so there is no way to avoid the cold gear, LOL!
