Ok, never done a report before, but here goes! Went to Beach Club Villas for first time w/ DH & our 5 kids along with my parents who have never been there!!
Day 1--Free day. Enjoyed looking around the resort & Boardwalk. Went to Boma's for dinner--This was our favorite on last trip, but a little disappointed this time. Service was great, but everything tasted like it had tons of nutmeg in it.
Day 2-Epcot. What a great day! Weather was wonderful. We enjoyed the Living Seas w/ no wait, saw the Circle of Life film (we hadn't seen this for a few years, forgot how much I enjoyed it), met characters at the character caravan, & my daughter finally got to go on Test Track. She & grandma got a kick out of it! (By the way, my kids are 13, 11, 8, 7, & 3--the 11 yr old DD is the one that likes all the thrill rides). We had PS at Le Cellier. I enjoyed it immensely, but I think it was a little too "tricky" for the rest of my crew. I loved seeing the Tapestry parade w/ my folks to see them amazed at the magic of Disney. Then we were all amazed when we experienced the Candlelight Processional (None of us had seen it--We went to their very last show of the season, & it was phenominal. I would highly recommend this to anyone!)
Day 3 (New Year's Eve)-Because of the age of our children, we opted to go to Animal Kingdom instead of one of the parks that would be open late. Ended up being a great choice b/c major rain hit in the evening & we were inside dry & enjoying a wonderful dinner at Cape May Cafe. At the AK, we loved the Festival of the Lion King (for the 5th time!), Tarzan Rocks, the Safari, meeting characters (even Lilo & Stitch), & my DH got a kick out of taking the folks on Dinosaur. Left the park midday & the kids swam in SAB--Totally enjoyed that!
Day 4-MGM. This ended up being our grumpy day. I know some people love this park, but it is just not our favorite. It seemed we walked in circles trying to figure out what we wanted to do (bty, my oldest DD vetoed going at all) & got cranky & left. They have some neat things, but none that we cared to do again. We ended up dividing up--DD's swam, my parents swam in the quiet pool & enjoyed the beach, & we ventured over to Epcot to just walk around for awhile. We regrouped later & enjoyed Fantasmic & the Osbourne Lights. It was nice to end on a good note! (I did not mention before, but we started the day at 7:00 am at the Screen Door gift shop to get in & purchase New Year's Day pins for our children & had a bad Disney experience with cm's & some nasty people:( However, mgmt was quick to remedy situation:D
Day 5-Magic Kingdom. This day was MAGICAL!! It was so awesome. We hit Splash Mtn, BTMRR, Small World, Hntd Mnsn, Aladdin & Pirate's right off the bat & then got FP's for Space Mtn & Buzz Ltyr for about the same time (we divided up for those). Then saw the parade & my 3yrold DS got picked to go out with the characters--GMa had to get teary over that! Ate dinner at the Plaza which was nice & then watched Spectromagic (still love that every time I see it)
Day 6-Mom & Dad leave for home:( We still have a day to relax. We had dinner at 1900 Park Fare (wonderful) & then went to Contemporary for pin trading. Boy were we naive about this whole pin thing!! The kids trading was very cool & nicely controlled, but outside the "kid boundary", there was nothing Disney about this. People were nasty to our children, and there is no other way to say it, there were a lot of swindlers. There were 2 nice men, and that was about it. I'd like to see Disney make the grown-ups go somewhere else, b/c that whole scenario gave us the creeps.
I know this seems like we didn't do much at the parks, but we purposely paced ourselves for my parents. This was our fifth trip in 7 years, so we just enjoyed watching my folks take it all in. We give special kudos to America West airlines, Yourride Trans., Holly & Alex at the Yacht Club gift shop. Any questions, let me know. Thanks for reading!!:D

Thanks for the great report! I'm glad your folks liked WDW and had a good time. I know what you mean by that pin thing..scary, huh.

and I am tired.......you enjoyed alot of the same things that we all do......Did you thrill ride daughter try RnR coaster......I did it for the first time.......after some kid called me a whiney baby.......and I loved it.......I hope to do it again soon.......thanks for your great report.....

missed the RnR coaster this time, but she & i did it 2 times on our last trip!! That's our one regret, but our timing for fastpass was lousy that day.

I'm glad to hear your candid comments about the "grumpy day". Happens to all of us (well, at least to us!). Other than that, sounds like a fabulous vacation!

Kinda makes me glad I or my kids never got started on that pin trading thing....sounds very strange & creepy.

:D Thanks for taking the time to post your trip report! Sounds like a great time was had by all.

Sorry you had such a scary experience with the pin trading thing. My friends and I got started on our last trip and it was one of the most fun things we did! I am looking forward to trading with CM's again this time. Only saw one trader at DTD, but had the same creepy feeling you did! Thanks for the great report.

Sounds like you had a great time!

One question..What do you mean "tricky"? (for Le Cellier)

LOL-def. of "tricky" in my family I guess would be anything beyond the basics!! I love trying new things, but, for example, my husband would have loved a slice of really good chocolate cake, but when he read the description, he totally vetoed that idea (I don't remember exactly, but I think it was brushed with whiskey, had nuts, etc). I had the house specialty--filet mignon w/ mushrooms. The filet was fantastic. It was served over a creamy rice that had wild mushrooms. It was very garlicy, but my DH loved that. Go figure. (BTW, for appetizer, I had the beer/cheese soup w/ the soft pretzel bread sticks . . . I could've made a meal out of just that!)

Oh my! I am sorry we missed that! We had PS's for LeCellier, but had to change our plans. I was really looking forward to that soup. Oh well...something to look forward to the next time.
That filet sounds good too!
