12/24/08 Christmas Cruise on the Wonder

I don't know which one of you was hoping to upgrade to a suite, but my sister-in-law cancelled their reservation for a one bedroom suite on this cruise last night. Call quick!!!

I am sure the waitlist took care of that!:goodvibes

I called DCL, no suites available, so I suppose there is more than just me on the waitlist. Oh well, we have to start saving for the Baltic after this one anyway...

Shoe size is an 8 for me.

I set my alarm for 2:00 AM on my 90 day booking window and got everything that I wanted. Whoever has the 10:30 Brunch, I'll be there with you. We also decided to take the kids to an early dinner on XMas and then do Palo dinner together later on Christmas night. Have the dolphin encounter at Nassau, parasailing at CC and a 4 hour block of nursery care scheduled for the day at sea, so that we can enjoy Palo Brunch and then some additional adult time. The only thing I couldn't get was the spa villa for 2, because of nursery hours of operation. The only time that worked for us would have caused us to miss Palo Brunch. Maybe on a longer cruise... I did however book the "Alone Time" Spa Villa for one, first thing on the sea day morning.

This is going to be so much fun!!!

I agree! Sounds great! I think I might be the only one that has to wait until the 10th. I did find out that my vacation hotel on the 10th has wireless internet. Just need to pack the computer. I'll try to stay off it as I will be getting some nice relaxation. Wish I was staying longer than 4 days. :sad1:

Allergies have been bad and a virus is going around. Some inflammation already ended up putting some pressure on a facial nerve and I have Bell's Palsy right now. Kinda sucks! What luck!

Hope everyone is doing alright. I'm getting sooooo excited!

Sounds like you are down a quart my dear and need some much deserved rest!:wizard:

Hey there Courtney! Is Taos on Mountain time? If so, I'd set an alarm and be on right at 1 AM. I was just looking at bookings last night and man, have things started to fill up since 2 AM Thursday. All the shore excursions were still open, though. There were still plenty of Palo dinner spots, too. Was there anything else you wanted to do?

Adrianna

Brenda-

Just realized that you are the other person with the 10:30 brunch. Looks like I may get to finally meet my former neighbor for the first time. What time is your parasailing at CC? We are at 11:00.

Adrianna

:lmao: Serial posting.:lmao: Thank you JoDale!:lmao:

FYI all, the reservations open at midnight Pacific time, so you East Coasters have to get up at 3:00 AM to make the first minutes of booking.

Yeah, Mountain Time. I may still be up at 1 AM. :lmao: I hope I can cross my fingers and everything still be available. Can I check out the options/availability online like you can? I would imagine they would stagger openings for each available booking start date. Kinda like they do for the cruises, right Brenda?

Palo dinner preferably around 515-530. Some shore excursions....teen excursion, boat rental at CC, maybe exotic rasul, catamaran snorkel tour. I'm not at home so I can't remember my notes by memory. And my coworker says I'm typing too loud. They are trying to watch Oprah. :rotfl2:

Annette.....I think I am a quart low. Quart of vodka, tequila, mimosas, etc. :rotfl: I do need relaxation. Docs and coworkers here whose family members have had Bells Palsy say it may be 2 months. Guess the family portraits should wait.

Access to availability doesn't open until your booking window does.

I think there has been discussion about this in the past on other threads. If I remember correctly, they don't hold anything back for online booking, but do hold spots for onboard booking so that people without internet access/savvy have a chance to book. Last I looked, only 10:30 AM is left online for Palo brunch right now, but there should be available tables at all of the times to be booked early in the first day of the cruise. That is iffin' you can't get what you want at 75 days out. And people will cancel and reconfigure their reservations during that time, too, so availability will flux right up until three days before departure when the system closes. The system updates constantly, so if somebody cancels (for example) a noon Exotic Rasul, it goes back into the system for someone else to book.

Good morning Adrianna.

We did have Palo brunch at 10:30,but changed it to 11:00. Decided we didn't want to rush on our sea day. Esp after 4 days at the parks. We want to sleep in and have a lazy morning. Not that 30 min is alot of extra time:rotfl2:

Our parasailing is at the un Godly hour of 9:00. Wanted to go later, but the guys are going fishing at 9:15. Want to spend time with the kids in the morning, then spend the afternoon together at Serenity Bay. We have a 2:00 Couples cabana massage booked. I sure hope Dale doesn't come back smelling like fish:lmao:

Are your sure? I know that is the old time for sure, but I thought it was changed to midnight East Coast Time. I know I made my reservations shortly after mid-night EST a few weeks ago. Just check to make sure. I would hate to have you miss something you wanted by not getting up at the right time.

Just got a call from DCL. Our shore excursion(city tour) on Nassau has been canceled by the vendor. They aren't going to be open Christmas day. The only other options she gave was anything on Atlantis. I missed the call, so didn't get the chance to ask her if other excursions also canceled. Looks like it's going to be a nice relaxing day onboard. Maybe I'll go ahead and book a spa treatment after all. I hear they give decent discounts on port days. I wonder if that means the shops are going to be closed too? I'm thinking yes, since the Junkanoo parade is in the wee morning of the 26th. Maybe we won't get our Cracked Conch after all:sad2:
