12/24/08 Christmas Cruise on the Wonder

Hey. Thanks to Drag N Fly for compiling the list. Just one correction - Hayley - my daughter is the one turning 7 on the cruise and Andrew my son -is the 21 month old.

Three months from now we'll be aboard:yay:  :cheer2:

Congrats...there is no better freedom than when they finally get the potty!

I am completely in agreement with you! He couldn't start preschool because he wasn't potty trained. I think they will be starting him next week! I'm so excited. Not to mention he'll be able to swim on the cruise now!

Yes, thanks Annette for putting all that together. When do you think the spreadsheet will be done with everyone else?

On a different note....I found out today the reasoning behind my chronic low back pain. I don't know what the exact treatment will be at this point but....I have a fracture on a vertebra in my lower back L5-S1 area. Kinda sucks really. And I have no idea how I got it. (Get your mind out of the gutter Brenda and Annette) Seriously. SOOOOOO......

I NEED PIXIE DUST!!!!! :wizard:

Gotta parasail and ride coasters in December, right? I broke my back further up approximately 15 years ago but they didn't operate or anything. Maybe this will be the same.

I guess I misunderstood what the spreadsheet was for. If it's just for the FE, great job! :thumbsup2

I don't know how I fractured it. Didn't do anything worth fracturing it. :rotfl: As for the rug burn....I've had that before too as I was dragged down the hallway towards the elevators in the Boys only dorm at Baylor University (it's a Baptist college btw). Gotta watch out for those Baptists ;)

And I just got denied a body wrap...since I'm epileptic. Not my first wrap mind you. They said its not good to be wrapped up and have a seizure. Know what?? They let me operate on babie's hearts! I can tell you when I'm going to have a seizure. Idiots :sad2:

I think the only thing to relax me right now would be Jose and his friends Patron and the Grey Goose

Thanks for putting together the FE list, Annette (I'm Shari, BTW). I'll tell y'all as soon as we get rooms assigned, or I'll leave notes in FE's if we have to wait until boarding. We are paid up now, so maybe I should check online and see what's new...would they give us our room assignments now?

We're going to have to check into this AKL Concierge thing...is it only for the lodge or also the villas? I assume you are using points?

Courtney, sorry to hear about your back. DH has a herniated vertebrae - under control now, but the pain never totally goes away. I hope you don't have to have surgery!

I'm getting prepared for surgery in a few weeks myself, but it's good (nope, not cosmetic!:lmao: ) I have hearing loss, and was able to correct it in one ear this summer with a stapedectomy (and my OR nurses were the best!:goodvibes ). Surgeon wants to do the other ear in a few weeks, which will be perfect. We have a Thanksgiving trip with my family, and the cruise - and it would be so nice to be hearing in stereo by then!:rotfl: And I'll be cleared to fly by then too. (And shower...and swim...) It's a relatively short (week) but tough recovery - vertigo, esp. - since they cut my eardrum and mess around with my inner ear (he'll replace one of those itty bitty bones in my ear with a titanium replacement). Dr. gives me lots of good meds, so I'll be in good shape after the first couple of days. NO blowing my nose for a few months, though!:scared1: Hearing is a wonderful thing... after the first op, I learned that my DH snores! Anyway, I talked to my principal about it today, since I'll have to take a week off, so it's been on my mind. I hate leaving my sweet babies for that long, but it'll be worth it in the long run!

Y'all have a great rest-of-the-week!:wizard: That drink looks YUMMY!

Concierge is available for cash guests and DVC members, They are just on different floors and diferent inventory:thumbsup2

Best wishes for a speedy recovery Shari. I had a bout of BPV a few years ago....not fun so I understand that feeling at least. Thos slushies go down like water....they are goooooood eh!

It became much more simplified as not everyone is participating:rolleyes1 :rotfl:

You operate on babies hearts.....OMG Courtney you are like a DIS hero....wow:yay:

Honestly they just don't want to be liable for anything....don't take it personally. If it really is on your must do list I can pick up a big roll of Saran Wrap from Costco and I can bring some magical dirt from my flowerbed and mix it with grey goose and peppermint extract to make a nice paste. We can grease you up and wrap you and hang a pine car air freshener in front of your nose so you get that Mystical experience you need!

Stapedectomys are cool surgeries. I did quite a few before I went to work with pediatrics. I am glad it is working well for you. And I certainly have sympathy on finding out your DH snores. :lmao:

I don't think I am a DIS hero. I am sure there are others who do just as meaningful jobs.

On another note, I think I was just having a crappy day after getting news about my back. I was looking forward to the wrap and the relaxation of it all only to have that crushed too. I know it's a liability thing. I told them I wouldn't come to their place for a facial either for fear I would have a seizure. I think I'm responsible enough to know when I'm going to have them. They wouldn't even let me sign a release of liability. I'm now a bit blue as I am thinking that I have to stop playing soccer, at least for a while, no roller coasters, at least for a while, and no skiing. Although I wasn't planning on skiing until March. Hopefully I'm better by December so I can ride some coasters. But I was planning on taking the kids to Fright Fest at Six Flags. Guess I have to just watch. It seems the first step is usually just watching it and giving your back a rest. Most days I don't hurt so I don't think they will want to do surgery yet. Of course, I don't know how bad it is right now. Can't be too bad. No one picked it up on xray back in July. Then again, probably didn't have the right view.

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: Annette, that is waaaayyyyy too funny! Can I get an air freshener other than pine?? How bout leather? :woohoo:

I honestly can't wait for the cruise. And DH almost told the kids yesterday! :scared1:  I've been quiet this long (a small miracle) why can't he??

Leather it is...sugah!:thumbsup2

My Mom suffered for years with 2 herniated discs in her back. At 72 she finally got surgery but still has quite a bit of sciatica. A fracture must be very painful I cannot imagine the pain! I had no idea that this was a KOTS :ssst: cruise for you....congrats on keeping it a secret for so long!:thumbsup2

Dh is home from Denver :yay:

If anyone:rolleyes1 popcorn:: :rolleyes1 changes their mind about joining the FE please let us know asap. I am only giving a gift for the person registered on the FE thread to the cabin no kid gifts etc. With that being said I am slowly accumulating my FE items. Here is my request. You may post or pm me with your response.

I need to know everyone's shoe size:santa: If I don't receive it you just won't get a gift for that specific day:eek: ......c'mon c'mon it's kewl and pimpin! Lol that's 12 year old dd talk!:happytv:

I'm an 11, DW wears a 41 Dansko (not sure of the American translation) and DS has yet to wear shoes but I have him a great pair of converse hi-tops that I got on sale and am dying for him to wear, maybe with his hockey jersey...:thumbsup2

Speaking of hockey, anyone else as excited as I am that the pre-season is here and that means the real season is right around the corner? Anyone? [crickets]:confused3

The Atlanta Thrashers held auditions Wed for a new in-rink announcer and I went with DS (wife was in grad school). About 40 people tried out. I didnt make it but I did get this in the Atlanta newspaper "And then there was Bryson Freeman, who came to Stats sports bar Wednesday night but did not compete. “He has a great voice,” Andy Freeman said of his 2-month-old son, “but he can’t read the names.” "

Bryson is already making the news

ribbit:happytv: I don't even think of hockey until the snow flies. Our summers are so short I desperately grasp onto the last few days of warmth until I finally start having to wear socks with my Crocs:scared1:

Just the adult shoe sizes or do you want the kids' too?

Me...6 1/2 or 7
DH....10
DD...5 1/2 or 6
DS...3 1/2 or 4

BTW, what does KOTS mean? And I totally can't believe that I have been quiet thus far. I have had to think of excuses why we are taking extra clothes, snorkeling gear, etc. DS was kinda smart. We were talking of future trips to WDW and he mentioned going snorkeling. I told him we were taking the gear this trip cuz I found some places that are perfect. His response "Won't it be too cold?" I told him, depends on where we go. :lmao: Without blinking or hesitation.....TOO funny!

FYI I wear a 36 Dansko.

I have to start putting my FE gifts together. I started gathering stuff quite a while ago. Makes budgeting easier by spreading it out. Guess I should start doing that too.

BTW when is Pirate night? Still 3rd night? That would be the 26th, right?

You guys do it anyway you want but for me to keep costs down I am only doing one FE gift per registered cabin. Eg: Any gifts you get from me will be for you or one for your family. I only want the adult sizes please:goodvibes :goodvibes KOTS (keeper of the secret)
