12/24/08 Christmas Cruise on the Wonder

I have gotten flat Christmas wrap from Current Catalog. They sometimes have a big sale in July.

Happy Birthday Andy!

And welcome hkatmom and family. Glad you joined us.

I have purchased flat wrapping paper through current before, and it is very goo paper. You can also catch school children selling it for fundraisers.

What a cute picture of your little man Adrianna. Love the hat!

Europeans are very open minded. Call me a prude but their is a time and a place for thongs and DCL is not one of them.:duck:

It's been a long time since I thought about "thongmom" as hubby and I lovingly nicknamed her. :rotfl2: It takes all kinds, doesn't it? Their family was a mom and a dad, a teenage girl and boy and a preschooler boy. I just kept thinking about how creepy I would have found it to have my dad and brothers seeing my buttcheeks as a teenage girl. Heck, it would be creepy now, but for entirely different reasons.

Enough on that line of thinking lest I be censored by the mods. :rotfl2:

I need another glass of wine.

Brenda-from what I can tell we have whoever the Allied affiliate is as our mover. I looked in the phone book and the only Allied affiliate company listed was in OKC. Do you know who it is here?

Adrianna, I called both Dale and Val. Dale said he doesn't think transportation will pay to send packers down from OKC. However, Val said she has had to go to OKC to pack, and Affiliated has an agent there.:confused3 I think it will depend on how busy things are at the time. Do you have a pack date yet?
I wish you had gotten United, then I could beg dispatch to give you guys to Dale:worship: ::yes:: Anyhoo, I have to run into the office Monday. I'll ask dispatch if they know who the local agent is. I know we don't have an Allied agent here, but there is an agent that accepts Allied shipments. I have seen an Allied truck at affiliated from time to time, so it may be them.

Hi guys! :wave2: Long time no talk.

Annette...gotta see the hair. I bet it looks wicked cool. I wish I was more brave like you.

Happy Birthday Andy!:bday:

Welcome, hkatmom! This is our first cruise too. I am so excited about it. And finally meeting all you guys face to face. My DS is just at the age where I think he no longer believes the santa gig so I think I am off the hook. He is 11. This last Christmas, I just never pointed anything out about it. I know he has asked questions before but my answer is always "What do you think?" As for DD, 16 at time of cruise, she knows. I always told her the true story of St. Nicholas and how it all got started. It's neat seeing other cultures versions of Santa as well. And to see what we got from different cultures that now makes up our Christmases.

As for the birthday stuff....DD will be turning 16 earlier in the month. Do you think it is too much of a manipulation to say it is her birthday too?? It is two weeks before our sail date....

Adrianna, that is too funny about thongmom. Did you guys know it is illegal to wear anything other than a speedo in the public pools in France?? Didn't believe it either when a coworker of mine mentioned it. She is from there. She had to pull it up on the internet to convince us. Definitely braver than me.

Heck I don't know what to do with Christmas Eve...any ideas?

I KNOW How's about a Disney Cruise....great idea netty WOOOHOO:cool1:  :yay:

What an itinerary!!! I'm tired just thinking about it. That's how our last visit was back in January. I am trying to be a little bit more carefree this time and boy is it KILLING ME!!! I love structure. God help me when we go back to WDW. I think I may do the same thing all over again. I'm already compiling my list.....We may choose to go back in 2010 as opposed to June 2009 for Star Wars. We already have plans for March 2009 and to have three really big trips in 6 months would be financial suicide (albeit fun). Besides we may go with DS's Boy Scout Troop camping in New Mexico. Boy I love that place!! Gotta work around school and my schedule (which means other peoples schedules too :( )

Guess we all know what everyone was doing around the end of February/beginning of March with all these December birthdays!!! :rotfl2:

When we booked our cruise ms asked if anyone was celebrating a birthday. I said dh is celebrating his on the 19th and ds will be celebrating his on the 8th. So no not really and ms said "are you kidding it is the same month and that is good enough for us" I will note in on your reservation to let them know!

Man that is my version of winging it! you should see when I really start planning!:lmao:

Thanks for the birthday wishes. Now that my sister is posting here I guess I need to watch what I say:rolleyes1

Ok, so I plan like crazy. But we get there, and everyone goes crazy. All that planning goes right out the window:rotfl2:

I emailed our ADR request to our DU agent. Haven't heard back from her yet. I hope she didn't go on vacation. Tomorrow is day 180!:yay:

That's too funny Andy. We'll vouch for you. ...maybe:rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

They asked me and I told them but they didn't say anything as nice as what your ms guy said. Perhaps I will call and make sure they know. I told them "DD's birthday, christmas, and our first cruise." Guess I can call and make sure they know?!? :confused3 That would be neat if they would.

i was going to ask something else and completely forgot. guess i will remember in a day or so in the middle of the night or some other inconvenient time. :furious: I hate it when that happens....

The ms lady was really nice. She said oh always make sure you tell people you are celebrating. It does not have to be the exact day. I really thought I shouldn't make that big deal out of it but she sure did which was nice....now watch we will get on the boat and jack poop will happen:rotfl2:

that's my luck too!!!

Hallelujah!! :dance3: I remembered what I was going to ask!! WOOHOO!!

I saw another thread where a lady was doing scrapbooking and saw this idea that her group of people did (on the cruise meet like us). They came up with a logo complete with a name of their group (or our nickname for the cruise...whatever) and made shirts with them to wear on the cruise. It was neat to see everyone doing it that had met on the thread. She even had a onesie made with the logo on it. There is iron on transfer paper that you can put through your printer.

Any thoughts?!?
