MAIN STREET BAKERY BREAKFAST
Today, we went to Magic Kingdom. We all knew what we would have for breakfast and went over to Main Street Bakery. Last year, we had a cinnamon roll, a ham and cheese croissant, and a french toast loaf. Now, the french toast loaf is no longer served (and it was soooo good!) so we each got a cinnamon roll with snack credits.
The cinnamon rolls are HUGE. They're so warm and gooey from the icing. Very soft and it pulls apart so easily. Yum! One of C's favorite pastries are cinnamon rolls so he was happy to get a huge one all to himself!
I don't think you could get a better cinnamon roll anywhere else!
COLUMBIA HARBOR HOUSE
For lunch, we went to Columbia Harbor House. Last time we came, the place was empty. Now, it's packed and so loud! The layout was confusing. There were a lot of different little rooms with tables. I've heard about the upstairs being nice, so we went to sit upstairs.
It was crowded upstairs, too! We searched for a table and found one.
Let me start by saying that I really don't like the CS system at some of these restaurants. The people who paid and went up to wait for their food had to lift their food high in the air so that they could get through.
G and M both had the tuna sandwich. I had this last time but wanted to try something new. I chose the hummus and broccoli slaw sandwich.

Anchors Aweigh Sandwich - white tuna with lettuce and tomato on toasted multigrain bun $8.09
The tuna sandwiches here are very good, but G didn't like it. He said that he should've gotten chicken strips instead. M enjoyed the tuna, however, and I did as well when I took a bite of it.
My hummus sandwich was great. I like it better than the tuna now. It was a nice light sandwich. The broccoli slaw was cold and crisp.
Instead of the chips that come with the sandwich, we got french fries instead. They were good, not soggy at all. The condiment station had some dressings, honey dijon packets, Tabasco sauce, barbecue sauce, mayo, and mustard. There were also small packages of salt and pepper. M and G used the honey dijon to dip their fries in and I took a barbecue sauce.
For dessert, we chose two strawberry yogurts, which we stuck in the fridge back at the resort, and G had a chocolate cake. He liked it but was full and didn't finish. The yogurts were Danon Light and Fit.
C had a kid's chicken nugget meal. Again, he ate it all and I offered him some of my fries because he still seemed hungry. The kid's portions at the CS restaurants are pretty small. He also got an applesauce and a chocolate pudding but he didn't eat either one.
Overall, I really like Colombia Harbor House and it is definitely our go-to option for CS meals in the Magic Kingdom. The sandwiches are a refreshing change. Much better than the typical burgers and chicken strips.
KONA CAFE DINNER
For dinner today, we went over to the Polynesian resort for Kona Cafe. The Poly was packed. I'm guessing because the Luau was on since there were a lot of people waiting in a line for it.
The menu:
We were given our welcome bread with macadamia nut butter. The bread is SO soft. Our server told us that they put pineapple juice into the bread. It pulls apart so easily. I would love to make a meal out of the bread, but there are so many other foods to try!
I wanted a Supercharged Tropical Smoothies - a blend of tropical juices, nonfat yogurt and Odwalia super protein original $4.29 as a drink. The menu says that it is an assortment of tropical juices. I was thinking pineapple or mango. It was actually coconut. I don't like coconut. I should've asked before what it was. The server noticed that I didn't drink it and asked if I wanted something else. I got a lemonade and she comped the smoothie.
As an appetizer, we shared the
Sticky Wings for Two - glazed chicken wings with a tangy mustard drizzle and toasted sesame seeds $12.99.
We got these last time and they are just as good now! The sauce is sweet and sticky while the mustard drizzle gives it a nice spicy kick. There were a lot of these. The salad on the side has no dressing so it didn't taste good.
M and I ordered the
Teriyaki-style New York Strip - sirloin strip grilled with pineapple teriyaki glaze served with mashed Yukon gold potatoes and stir-fried broccolini $27.99
I ordered it medium well while M ordered it well done. We both had this last year. A lot of the menu items didn't appeal to me so I just stuck with something I knew I liked. I love the terryaki pineapple glaze on the steak. Now, the steak comes with sticky rice but we both subbed that for mashed potatoes. The mash here is great. Chunky with bits of potatoes here and there. The broccolini was nice too in the terryaki sauce.
G ordered the
Ginger Crusted Ribeye - with tamarind jus, mashed Yukon Gold potatoes, and stir-fried broccolini $25.99. He ate it all, so it must've been pretty good.
By now we were pretty full but ordered dessert. Two
Kilauea Torte $5.49 and one
Kona Kone $5.99. The torte is like a chocolate lava cake. VERY rich. We couldn't get through half of it. Breaking open the torte makes some thick gooey chocolate come out. The description says that it is a chocolate cookie but it was more like a dense brownie. Still good, but again, really rich. C had fun putting toppings on his Kona Kone.
And the Kona Kone:
I didn't get a good picture of the cone this year, so this one is last year's.
Overall, we again enjoyed our meal at Kona Cafe. We even saw the server that we had last year and talked with her for a while. The food is always great here and we'll continue to keep coming back!
