Everything POP breakfast

Today, we went down to Everything POP! early to peek around the giftshop again and look at what the food court had for breakfast. After viewing the breakfast menu at the food court, we tried to figure out if we should eat here or go to Epcot and eat at Sunshine Seasons. I looked over the breakfast menu at Sunshine Seasons and saw that POP had a lot more variety, so we ate here.

I wanted a breakfast pizza. Not sure why it's not on the AllEars menu. I think it was around $6.00-$7.00?

232323232%7Ffp63252%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3EWSNRCG%3D334783%3A952337nu0mrj

By the time we went through with what everyone else wanted and making sure that we were using our credits properly, getting in line, paying, and sitting down to eat, my pizza got a bit cold. Not a problem as I just stuck it in the microwave for a few seconds. There was a nice amount of cheese on it because it pulled when I bit into it. I think the flatbread was coated with white gravy? It looked like it, but I'm not sure if it was or not. Bacon gave it a nice smokey flavor. This was awesome and I'd definitely get it again.

I was able to use one of my drinks as a biscuit, so instead of two drinks and an etree, I got one drink, a biscuit, and an entree.

POP had the best biscuits. They were so flakey and buttery.

I love how the food court had packets of hot sauce all the time. They use the Texas Pete brand.

M had a ham and cheese croissand sandwich, which she liked and ate all of.

232323232%7Ffp63247%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3EWSNRCG%3D3347839686337nu0mrj

G had a Western Omelette. He thought the portion size was good, and it came with a side of breakfast potatoes.

omolette.jpg

C had a Kid's Breakfast Platter - scrambled eggs, bacon and applesauce $4.39

232323232%7Ffp63245%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3EWSNRCG%3D3347839682337nu0mrj

He loves bacon so that was gone first.

I didn't like how you had to get an entree and two drinks as a CS breakfast because we would've had way too many drinks to carry around. I asked a CM if we could do something else and she said that you can get an entree and two drinks or an entree, one drink, and a pastry. We chose that option.

We chose a chocolate croissant as another pastry, but we didn't eat it.

232323232%7Ffp63246%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3EWSNRCG%3D334783%3A957337nu0mrj

We really enjoyed breakfast at the food court. There's enough variety to keep coming back and still try something new.

Continued in next post..

Excellent start! I am looking forward to reading the rest of your reviews, particularly Kouzzina, as I haven't read much about it yet.

AMERICAN PAVILLION TURKEY LEG- EPCOT

D wanted lunch, so he paid OOP for a Turkey Leg. We also paid for a bucket of popcorn.

The turkey leg prices went up. They're still big, though! The rest of us were saving our appetite for Biergarten.

Since we were in Epcot, we had to go to MouseGears. I love this store!

I really like these chocolate covered pretzels. They also make really nice gifts.

BIERGARTEN DINNER

Today in Epcot, our dinner reservation was for the Biergarten.

We have been here several times before but haven't come in two years. We were seated with two other groups. I thought it was a bit uncomfortable sitting with them since all of our groups kept to ourselves. The communal seating wasn't my favorite and is definitely a big con for me in deciding whether or not I would like to book here again. Other people, of course, could love the communal seating and a chance to talk to new people. We've had conversations with some pretty nice people in the past, just not this time.

I had one plate of food and another small dessert plate. Sorry, I just have my one main plate picture here. I was embarassed as we were sitting so close to everyone.

232323232%7Ffp63245%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3EWSNRCG%3D334%3A546%3B39337nu0mrj

On my food plate, I had a meatball, mushroom sauce, macaroni and cheese, cucumber salad, roasted potatoes, a potato dumpling, and macaroni salad.

I didn't like how the meatball tasted. Definitely not the meatballs we're used to at home. I don't recall what meat they used. Not sure if it was lamb, pork, beef, etc.

The mushroom sauce was great and I loved using the delicious pretzel bread to mop it up! Of course, the pretzel bread was also good for the potato and leek soup which I loved! The whole table commented on how good that soup is.

Out of all the options that were here, my favorite was the macaroni and cheese! It was so creamy and cheesy. M loved it too, and G went back for a bowl with just that.

The dumpling was odd. We didn't like it. Tasteless and it had a weird texture.

The roasted potatoes were good with the mushroom sauce.

I didn't eat the macaroni salad but M didn't like it.

Cucumber salad was cold and refreshing.

My dessert plate consisted of two small pieces of chocolate mousse cake, a piece of bavarian cheesecake, and some watermelon.

I didn't take a picture of my dessert plate. I even had a hard time taking a picture of my first plate because I was too embarassed to be taking pictures with the other people around us.

The actual mousse and ganache-like chocolate on the chocolate mousse cake was very good, but the cake part was like a dense chocolate brownie. Kind of flavorless. I just ate the mousse on the two and that part was rich and chocolatey enough. I didn't like the Bavarian cheesecake; found it a bit too tart for my tastes. The watermelon was fresh and cold.

Overall, Biergarten had good food. We came out pretty full! I loved the entertainment and guest interaction. Everyone was swinging their mugs and the kids were dancing up front by the stage. The only thing I'm not fond of is the communal seating.

POP SNACK 8-20-09

C wanted another Mickey bar back at the hotel, so we used a snack credit for that. We also got three Minnie's Bake Shop treats. A Chocolate Supreme cookie, a brownie, and a blondie. I tried a bite of the blondie but didn't like it. Thought it was too dry. Maybe if I microwaved it.

I didn't take individual pictures of the brownies and cookies but you can look at them from the above cookie pictures.

I'm so in! You've been to every restaurant that I'm going to, so can't wait to hear all the reviews! Thanks for all the pics!

I don't know if I could eat all that food coloring in one sitting:laughing: I'm sure my 2 older kiddos would definately take a stab at it regardless! Does it taste like plain ol' cheesecake?

Those cookies look fabulous and we will have over 100 snack credits on the DxDDP this Novemeber and I think I just found a way to spend them :rotfl: Did you find them all over the World? Could you tell me a few places you saw them in the parks?

Oh and I'm obviously so in for the report!:thumbsup2popcorn::

Great reviews! Sorry you didn't care for Biergarten too much! This is DH's top pick for every trip. He loves it. Did you at least get to enjoy the show?

No, you don't bite and taste the food coloring. It tastes like regular cheesecake but it's soo much more fun to eat!

For the Selma's cookies I recall them being at MouseGears in Epcot, POP, Selma's on the Boardwalk, Emporium, Zawadi Marketplace at AKL, and a lot more. You'll find them in a lot of different places. They definitely have them at most resorts (I know BC didn't have..not sure about others) and at the main (big) gift shops in the parks. They should be at the Emporium as well.

Thanks for sharing the pics.

You're welcome!

You ate in lots for great places, I can't wait to read more about them.

Yes, we picked up a lot of new favorites this year!

MAIN STREET BAKERY BREAKFAST

Today, we went to Magic Kingdom. We all knew what we would have for breakfast and went over to Main Street Bakery. Last year, we had a cinnamon roll, a ham and cheese croissant, and a french toast loaf. Now, the french toast loaf is no longer served (and it was soooo good!) so we each got a cinnamon roll with snack credits.

232323232%7Ffp63252%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3EWSNRCG%3D334784953%3B337nu0mrj

The cinnamon rolls are HUGE. They're so warm and gooey from the icing. Very soft and it pulls apart so easily. Yum! One of C's favorite pastries are cinnamon rolls so he was happy to get a huge one all to himself!

I don't think you could get a better cinnamon roll anywhere else!

COLUMBIA HARBOR HOUSE

For lunch, we went to Columbia Harbor House. Last time we came, the place was empty. Now, it's packed and so loud! The layout was confusing. There were a lot of different little rooms with tables. I've heard about the upstairs being nice, so we went to sit upstairs.

It was crowded upstairs, too! We searched for a table and found one.

Let me start by saying that I really don't like the CS system at some of these restaurants. The people who paid and went up to wait for their food had to lift their food high in the air so that they could get through.

G and M both had the tuna sandwich. I had this last time but wanted to try something new. I chose the hummus and broccoli slaw sandwich.

The tuna sandwiches here are very good, but G didn't like it. He said that he should've gotten chicken strips instead. M enjoyed the tuna, however, and I did as well when I took a bite of it.

My hummus sandwich was great. I like it better than the tuna now. It was a nice light sandwich. The broccoli slaw was cold and crisp.

Instead of the chips that come with the sandwich, we got french fries instead. They were good, not soggy at all. The condiment station had some dressings, honey dijon packets, Tabasco sauce, barbecue sauce, mayo, and mustard. There were also small packages of salt and pepper. M and G used the honey dijon to dip their fries in and I took a barbecue sauce.

For dessert, we chose two strawberry yogurts, which we stuck in the fridge back at the resort, and G had a chocolate cake. He liked it but was full and didn't finish. The yogurts were Danon Light and Fit.

232323232%7Ffp63245%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3EWSNRCG%3D33478539%3C3337nu0mrj

C had a kid's chicken nugget meal. Again, he ate it all and I offered him some of my fries because he still seemed hungry. The kid's portions at the CS restaurants are pretty small. He also got an applesauce and a chocolate pudding but he didn't eat either one.

232323232%7Ffp63242%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3EWSNRCG%3D334784%3B8%3B6337nu0mrj

Overall, I really like Colombia Harbor House and it is definitely our go-to option for CS meals in the Magic Kingdom. The sandwiches are a refreshing change. Much better than the typical burgers and chicken strips.

KONA CAFE DINNER

For dinner today, we went over to the Polynesian resort for Kona Cafe. The Poly was packed. I'm guessing because the Luau was on since there were a lot of people waiting in a line for it.

The menu:

232323232%7Ffp63247%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3EWSNRCG%3D3347853%3A78337nu0mrj

232323232%7Ffp63249%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3EWSNRCG%3D33478495%3A8337nu0mrj

232323232%7Ffp63254%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3EWSNRCG%3D33478495%3B6337nu0mrj

We were given our welcome bread with macadamia nut butter. The bread is SO soft. Our server told us that they put pineapple juice into the bread. It pulls apart so easily. I would love to make a meal out of the bread, but there are so many other foods to try!

232323232%7Ffp63244%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3EWSNRCG%3D3347853%3A87337nu0mrj

I wanted a Supercharged Tropical Smoothies - a blend of tropical juices, nonfat yogurt and Odwalia super protein original $4.29 as a drink. The menu says that it is an assortment of tropical juices. I was thinking pineapple or mango. It was actually coconut. I don't like coconut. I should've asked before what it was. The server noticed that I didn't drink it and asked if I wanted something else. I got a lemonade and she comped the smoothie.

As an appetizer, we shared the Sticky Wings for Two - glazed chicken wings with a tangy mustard drizzle and toasted sesame seeds $12.99.

We got these last time and they are just as good now! The sauce is sweet and sticky while the mustard drizzle gives it a nice spicy kick. There were a lot of these. The salad on the side has no dressing so it didn't taste good.

232323232%7Ffp63245%3Enu%3D3353%3E2%3A2%3E3%3C2%3E24442%3A24%3B3246ot1lsi

M and I ordered the Teriyaki-style New York Strip - sirloin strip grilled with pineapple teriyaki glaze served with mashed Yukon gold potatoes and stir-fried broccolini $27.99

I ordered it medium well while M ordered it well done. We both had this last year. A lot of the menu items didn't appeal to me so I just stuck with something I knew I liked. I love the terryaki pineapple glaze on the steak. Now, the steak comes with sticky rice but we both subbed that for mashed potatoes. The mash here is great. Chunky with bits of potatoes here and there. The broccolini was nice too in the terryaki sauce.

232323232%7Ffp63239%3Enu%3D3352%3E%3B%3A%3B%3E6%3B%3A%3E2443%3B%3A%3B7%3A%3B246ot1lsi

G ordered the Ginger Crusted Ribeye - with tamarind jus, mashed Yukon Gold potatoes, and stir-fried broccolini $25.99. He ate it all, so it must've been pretty good.

232323232%7Ffp63244%3Enu%3D3353%3E2%3A2%3E3%3C4%3E24442%3A24%3B5246ot1lsi

By now we were pretty full but ordered dessert. Two Kilauea Torte $5.49 and one Kona Kone $5.99. The torte is like a chocolate lava cake. VERY rich. We couldn't get through half of it. Breaking open the torte makes some thick gooey chocolate come out. The description says that it is a chocolate cookie but it was more like a dense brownie. Still good, but again, really rich. C had fun putting toppings on his Kona Kone.

232323232%7Ffp63238%3Enu%3D3362%3E549%3E43%3B%3EWSNRCG%3D33478495%3B9337nu0mrj

And the Kona Kone:

232323232%7Ffp536%3A8%3Enu%3D3298%3E3%3A5%3E542%3E23893%3A5633246ot1lsi

I didn't get a good picture of the cone this year, so this one is last year's.

Overall, we again enjoyed our meal at Kona Cafe. We even saw the server that we had last year and talked with her for a while. The food is always great here and we'll continue to keep coming back!
