Hey, has anyone heard from Robin. I was reading about the fires and wondered how she was doing.

I PM'd her yesterday, got an answer back this morning. They are fine, but lots around them are not. She can see the flames but nothing is happening in the canyon where her house is.

sherenna..why dont you plan on alaska wth disney..i think alot of us wll end up there.. i am looking forward to mex riv cruise..i finally booked my hotel for the 3 days before the cruise...in marina del rey..anyone know anythng abt it..ive nvr been there..
im also going to wdw in feb..okw they changed to meal plan not sure if i wll be getting it this time..
dh has pneumonia so gotta go..

Robin and family -- I'm keeping you in my thoughts. It sounds pretty scary, I hope your luck continues to hold.

We'll be doing an Alaska DCL cruise for sure! Actually, I'm hoping it leaves from Seattle...I can drive to the ship!

Hopefully Robin is still fine...

And I'd never rule out the Alaska cruise, in fact I'd never rule out a cruise at all (other than a shakedown cruise)! It's a few years off so we'll just have to see.....

Hi everyone,
Thanks for your concerns and as Sherrena mentioned we are fine. Have been very very busy with rescuing horses that have needed to be evacuated.

Could not get some into the trailers and needed to get out right away, had to leave some behind. Some people had a 2 horse trailer but 4 or more horses and we could not get there in time to get them out.

Have been also taking care of the horses at the rescue site, It's called horse camp. We have sooooo many donations and all the restarants bring us food everyday to feed the volunteers. I have not posted here sorry for not thinking about it.

I am taking a short break today and may be going back to the camp tonight for horses to be fed.

Still real smoky here but kids will return back to school on monday.

so on the lighter side of things....how are all of you and Alaska all the way for me. Hope DCL decides to do that.

Are you all familure about Disney building a 800 room hotel in Hawaii...it will be a combo DVC hotel. Will definatly check it out. Billie has been wanting to go to Hawaii for a long time so what better to go Disney when going there.

glad to hear all is ok wth you..i knew you were ok early on but then it was spreading so fast..i wasnt sure where you lived in reference to the fires..glad all is ok..
i wish every one was that lucky..all our prayers are wth them..

sherrena what is wrg wth a "shakedown" cruise, is it bad luck or something? i nvr heard that before..i am on the first mex.riv cruise..shld i take a big rabbits foot?

Shakedown cruise is a term my husband used...taken from some old song.

His point is that the first cruise or two on a new ship is bound to have....ummmmm...learning experiences. He prefers to wait until the bugs have been worked out!

Hopefully you won't need too many rabbits feet for the first trip to Mexico...at least the crew will be mostly the same, no new ship, etc.!

Hope y'all had a Happy Thanksgiving. Janie went out shopping today and commented how much easier it was last year when we didn't have to buy the kids many presents because the cruise was our Christmas present.

Hard to believe it has been almost a year.

We should all get together in one of the chat rooms on 12/16 and remember the Magic of last Christmas.

Hi J.R how have you been??? Your right is was easier this year shopping for today. I took Billie out and bought him a 58" plasma panasonic HD 1080p Television. It was crowded in Circuit city however. Lots of TV buyers.

We have a 63" TV now but is not Plasma or LCD. Did lots of research and decided on plasma. Bit ticket item total of $5500 but Billie works hard and he has been wanting it for sooooo long that figured why not.

So what have you and the family been up to...how was your Thanksgiving?

Well I'm tiered and have to go to sleep. I am all TV'd out from a stressful day of money spending. Seems the older the kids get the less presents they get but the presents get more expendive...geeesh

how abt you? they are having alot of specials in dec, including park passes etc.. did you all know the food plan has changed? im not going to do the food plan this time..didnt like the changes..and its tooo much food!!

Hi everyone,
I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy late Hanukkah(sp). We are looking forward to Christmas and all is going great here. We are looking forward to our next trip to DL and DCL in July.

We cancelled our New Years trip to DL due to one of our dogs being so old and needing the extra attention that we can only give him.

To those of you that sent me cards,,,thanks it put a smile on my face. Have yet to get my cards out and not sure if will make my deadline for that this year but know I will be thinking of you all.

This is the first year that my kids don't believe in Santa so that makes things a little different when shopping. Michael is still questioning it some but he for the most part believes it is me a and Billie. Sorta changes the feel of things but not in a bad way but in a way that makes me feel like they can have fun and celebrate with a little different prospective.

Cant explain it but for you that have kids and went through this you can relate what I am saying....

Well I will come back again and just like Shereena I get a notification anytime anyone posts here so I come right in.

Hi all!

So what were you doing a year ago?

We left for our magical adventure on our way to meet virtual friends and spend and amazing Holiday in beautiful places!

We will be home this year for Christmas, but are heading to WDW afterward and will spend New Years there. We're also stopping at U of Florida on the way back doing a college visit. We're starting to do that around the Southeast now, our oldest will be applying next year.

I'm pretty sure Kev doesn't believe in any more, but won't say so. That takes some of the stress off, but we still go through the motions. We told them all a long time ago that Santa didn't come to those that didn't believe in him! So now I think Kev doesn't want to admit anything!

brings back alot of memories when i first found out..it was a bummer..my 8 year old grandaugh is questioning it..sh sd sh never saw a reindeer that could fly yet..and tht is all sh would say...funny...her mom sd sh believes in the spirit of christmas..
wow, a year ago...cant believe a year went by..
i loved that cruise..and all the people i met ..i missed being home for christmas..but i think i will do a christmas cruise again sometime..

Wow, I can't believe it's been a whole year since we embarked on our 10 day journey together. What a great time that was!!! Jimmy and I still will be just sitting around and one of us will say, "Remember the Christmas Cruise, what a great time that was!!!"

I think of you all from time to time and hope all is well with you and all your loved ones. You all made our cruise even more special and I hope one day we can meet up again while cruising.

Hi all!!! That has been on my mind all weekend and today too! I wish I was on the Magic right now!!!!!!! We are home for Christmas this year even though I am off all next week. We are talking about maybe going up to Chicago for a few days next week.

How is everyone??? I miss you all.....
