12/09/06 Cruise Continued ~ Pirating Bananas DIS Geekorama Part 2

I am the manager of the Yahoo group and I can make it approval only for joining -- that' s not a problem.

If someone wants to create a separate website, that would be fine too. I don't have much time for managing another website. However, I can set us up a private, separate phpBB bulletin board with separated categories if you feel the need for segregated chit-chat (i.e. a chit-chat section, a photo section, a meets section, etc). This thread being 700 posts long with a year to go tells me that it will only get chattier and chattier!

As far as the t-shirts, my thought would be that one of the fabulous artists in the DDA could come up with a design and we could each buy our own transfers and shirts and make them ourselves. It would be great if there were some volunteers who could make them for other iron-on-impaired folks. And my preference would be white shirt, just because it's easy to find. Either that or navy blue.

Let me know your thoughts on the yahoo group vs. bulletin board vs. website and I'll be happy to do what I can.

Well I got stuff to do....just thought I'd pop in.........say hi....

Yeah right Jordan! Some of us know what you are up to...the others will catch on soon enough. LOL!

Maybe we can decided on 2 or 3 colors for the shirts. Having the same design will help them stand out & let us be able to ID everyone at the sailaway at least. I know that I just don't wear a few colors & others must feel the same way. The wine & cheese...well let's see who ends up in a cat 3 this time! We will be in a 10 and that thru a 4 would be a little cramped. If the weather is nice we can always meet on the deck 7 verandah then there are places on the ship where we can arrange to meet as well.

Also, whatever group info we decide on....I can edit the first post so that it is all included for new comers to be able to catch up with us when they join in.

For those with children, please send an individual picture pf each child to be put on the DIS Kids page by age group so that the kids can get to know each other a little better. Let the kids tell the others their age, grade in school, favorite thing to eat on the ship, favorite Disney character, & their favorite activity on the ship...whatever they want to write about.

We will have also have a page to list Palo resie times & excursions to help make plans.

I can't believe we're talking about this already, but my cousin and I are also trying to figure out our WDW plans prior to the 12/9 cruise. With Expedition: Everest opening, we want to make sure and go to WDW. Now it's a question of how many days, where to stay, what parks to see........

Mark, I have gone thru & gotten a few pictures from the thread but as far as info, it will be easier to just go by the emails to get everything all together. I would hate to mix anyone up with someone else.

Jordan, IDK when we will go anywhere but I do know that we prefer going to the parks before the cruise. Last year we drove up to SC Saturday & stayed at a hotel with points then drove home Sunday & had some time to unpack a bit. Going before would mean missing one more day of school OR just doing one day at a park...probably MK. We take the kids out of school at 11:30 am so that they are not counted as absent & then drive to the SC/GA border. We can get to WDW around 1 pm so we can spend the afternoon at DTD, which the kids really enjoy. Friday in MK in December isn't too bad. We wont be making any resies for that for a long time though.

Boy, you guys have been a busy bunch, and I see Jordan is back to his old tricks . . . I bet we will hit 3000 sooner than the last cruise!

We have been busy too - housebreaking a new puppy - what FUN - NOT! She is as cute as a button though!

I think the T-Shirt idea is a good one - it would be fun, and you can count us in. IDK how many of you have tried the iron on transfers, but the one's I have tried have not been too durable. If anyone knows of one's that are better, let us know. It would be great if we could have them screen printed, but I know that would be a big hassle. If we can find them, I think Lime Green would be great.

Glad to see Lisa is updating the web site. We will send updated photos to you soon Lisa.

We plan to arrive at WDW either Sunday or Monday prior to the cruise. I am hoping for Sunday. 4 days at the parks and one day to enjoy the resort and do DTD. DGS's teacher will just have to deal with him missing 2 weeks of school. Obsessed, we are obsessed! We hope to stay at OKW again, love it, and our dream is to stay in a Grand Villa. There will be 12 of us and a GV would be soooooo wonderful. I have to wait to reserve there until May and I don't know what will be available. We may have to go with a 2 bedroom and a studio. Dennis and I bought 10 day hopper passes that never expire this year. We only used 2 of those days, so we have 4 days left for 2006 and 4 days for 2007. We are set except for the airfare!

I am enjoying the College Bowl games. Had fun watching AZ State last night. I am glad to see that the Pac 10 has won 2 of 2 of their games so far. Oregon plays tomorrow.

Hoping to use Magical Express on the way to the parks, but I am thinking of taking a limo from WDW to the port and may be looking for someone to share a stretch ride with Not sure what to do after getting off the ship, because if we get the flight I want, we won't fly out till 7 pm, so we will need something to do for half day.

Yes, Philippians 4:6, NLT is a great verse to lean on when times get tough and not so tough. Like today, we found this great dog at the shelter last night. We are having trouble deciding if bring her home is the best idea. She is a great dog with the kids. I read you spoke at church? Where do you attend and what did you speak about? We lived in Irvine for about three years and attend Southcoast in Irvine.
