LiserAnn -- I have a second grader, too. He is SUPER excited that he is going to be in the Lab next Dec. instead of the Club!

Yes, Ryan is excited about being in the Lab, although I think his little brother will miss him in the club. In July when we went, if they got bored or there was a slow moment they gravitated towards each other. Hopefully my youngest will make some friends during the first few days.

It's good to hear CC was nice. Sounds like it will be great!

Morning all! Happy official Halloween! I say that because around our town, the kids actuallly go trick or treating on the last Thursday of the month. So now that today actually rolls around....well, have you ever tried to convince a child that Halloween in Oct. 31 as they are sitting there feeding their faces with the chocolate they got a few days ago!

Anyway, all this talk about the labs vs. club got me thinking....remind me the cut offs for ages....

LiserAnn and Jwann - are your boys in second grade right now? If so, add another to the list. My oldest is in second grade now and his brother is in first. On our last cruise they were together and I was glad about that. I think if they each meet up with kids they can hang out with on their own they will actually do better being separated. But I can't remember the age differences. When we cruise they will be 7 and 9.

As I remember, the cut off for Lab/Club is 8. I know there is a 5-7 age group for the Club and an 8-10 age group for the Lab. Last year my youngest, Kevin, was in the 5-7 group and my oldest, Eric, was in the 8-10 group. When we go next year, Kevin will be 8 and Eric will be 11. On all three of our cruises, they have never been in the same age group but they didn't care and spent TONS of time in the Club/Lab anyhow. The Lab is filled with lots of computer and video games as well as a huge k*nex table. The Lab group also spends alot of time doing things around the ship -- on the sports deck, seeing movies, dancing in studio sea, etc.

Edited to say: HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!!

Believe me - I have no fears about my boys finding things to do....they LOVED everything about the club/lab. Believe it or not - my boys were actually sad that they wouldn't get to play in the pirate ship fun area in the club. Boys will be boys!! Of all the vacaitons we've ever taken, our disney cruises are the ones the boys talk about the most. DH thought it was silly to spend that much money on a trip that they would forget , but nooooo...they remember soo much about that trip!

My boy is in second grade now, so all our boys are the same grade!

That's interesting that your town goes trick or treating on thursday, that's kinda cool! Different too, how did that come about?!

Happy Halloween all!

Lisa

My son is in second grade now too! There seems to be a lot that age

If you knew the backward town we lived in, you wouldn't wonder how the "celebrating Halloween on the last Thursday" came about.

The only explantion I've ever heard has something to do with not having kids out on the actual night will prevent too much mischieviousness. Obviously the politicians who established that policy don't have kids. But hey...

It is rather interesting because at our school, they don't give homework on T-or-T night so since different town celebrate on different nights, the kids end up with no homework for several nights. It is a rather nice little treat for moms too!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Take care all!!! Have a great Disney day!

I just noticed as I was reading our thread here that you're from Buffalo, NY. My DH has tons of family who live in Grand Island and DH travels to Buffalo all the time for work....even in the winter, where he was unfortunate enough to be run off the freeway (well, they're not freeways there) by a big rig--slid right off the parkway and scared the you know what out of him. In Southern Cal we don't see much snow, so his snow driving isn't up to par, if ya know what I mean! Anyway, just had to share! :teeth:

Wow, small world! We live in a suburb of Buffalo about 20 miles SE from Grand Island.

Hubby got put in a snowbank, huh? Sorry to hear that. That's happened to me before too unfortunately. Driving can be a little tricky here during the winter months.

Seeing that you guys don't get any snow in SoCal I'll have to post some pics of what a Buffalo winter is all about. :cold: K?

wow - is everyone in the "cold" right now? It is beautiful here!! Still swimming weather!! Anyone else in Florida?

It's a great day in CA. Not swimming weather. I hope everyone is doing great! Only 13 more months to go!!!! :cheer2:  :wizard: :wave2:

Noooo!

61 degrees and sunny here today. :sunny:

I know that may be cold to some, but that makes for a beautiful fall day in the Northeast.

I just checked a low of 43 and high of 63. My daughter and I just came back from the park. She ended up putting her feet in the fountain. She did say Brrrrr.
