Hey Joy. where exactly is Elk Grove?

Hey Tammie. Do you realize that u stole my thunder? ;)

Angie, I'm excited for you to take your grandkids to DL! How many times have they been? We are taking my DIL's little brother, 10, for his first time when we go in August with the gang! It is so fun to take someone for their first time! Magical! :wizard:

I had a friend from college who came from the Sacto area. Carmicheal perhaps and I think he went to Jesuit. Friends from my home church moved to Auburn.......

We were stationed at Beale AFB before we came here - loved the SAC area - especially the SHOPPING after 3 years in Okinawa

It wasn't me.

Jordan - I don't even know you (yet!) but somehow I thought - if anyone did it - it might be you....you sound like a "behind the scenes" prankster. (And I don't mean that in a bad way!! - just that you seem to like to have fun)

Welcome Laura!!
I have a DS who will also be 9! I think it will be fun for the kids to see who some of their pals might be before the cruise. Should make the clubs even better for them! Then I can sit back and enjoy basking inthe sun with a drink in hand! :sunny:

Hello everyone, I just wanted to thank you for all of your welcomes, you all seem like a great bunch. The website sounds like its great, I'll be working on our info. today but I need my DH to do the pictures!

Jordanyosh:
We live on the East side of Canada, New Brunswick. The weather has been good so far, only a few degrees below freezing, and that is good for us!! Our family is a rare bunch that we don't follow hockey in the least. When our son was 6 he played for a year, thought we would try it. I was so happy when he decided he didn't want to continue, I can think of better things to do than stand in a cold rink and freeze my toes. :cold: Anyway, I'm all for warm sports.
My husband's job is going to have us moving to the States for a year, either this June or Dec. The locations will either be Maryland or California, Lancaster to be exact. Do you know anything about Lancaster?

I see that PJPoohBear is going to MVMCP on Friday, Dec 8. Anyone else going to a MVMCP? We were thinking of going on Thursday the 7th after we arrive. I've read some things about the Pop Warner week being the first week in December. Does anyone know if the kids attend the party or not since you have to buy a seperate admission? I'm hoping not.

Angie--I think your only two doors down from us on Deck 6. We'll try to be good neighbors.

Welcome, spotncleo! Nice to see other Cuncks on board.

dutch girl scout, I'm liking all the caps in my screen name, lol. Makes me feel important or something. I am thinking that MVMCP is going to be my MK visit and will use three days of my 10 day pass for the other parks, who knows.

It looks like the week before our cruise is might to be Mousefest, I think I will be signing up for at least a couple of events involved with that. I have had the chance to be included in three Passport editions now, and have meet Dave and Jen, very briefly at Epcot one day in May 2002, the same week he won a cruise at WWTBAM. This would be a very cool way to start off a very special vacation. And Steve Barrett, the guy who does the hidden mickey books, will be doing tours during mousefest!

Pop Warner, it maybe the week before our cruise or even the week before that ending on the 2nd, (fingers crossed.)

It looks like I am alone again...as always. Sorry Angie and Dennis. Really you can say you actually won because of that one play where the Texas player's knee was down, but oh well.....sorry. My roommate was rooting for Texas and was rubbing it in. I actually had to leave the room;go in my bedroom and shut the door.

There is much saddness at our house. :sad2: At least there were only Trojan fans at our house and on the phone. Both DS and DD were called us several times throughout the game. Was fun to "watch" the game with our DS who is living in Phoenix and our DD.

Penny--
Old habits die hard, I graduated last year with a degree in IT, the caps are left over from computer programming. Notice my name has no caps?

I'm such a newbie, what is mousefest? I just ordered the passporter books, they should be here by the end of the week. I can't beleive all the stuff on these boards, there is so much to learn and only 11 months to learn. :)

We may go to MVMCP on Thursday. We went in 2004 and it was alot of fun.

YEAH! Nice neighbors! Looks like you are new to the DIS. Check out the threads on magnetic door signs. They are fun and a great way to "mark" DIS territory!

Gosh, I'm not sure I can count the times we have taken the grandkids to DL. Our oldest is 16 and he was 9 months the first trip. We have gone "almost" yearly and he and his brother usually go with us. Our DD's step children have only gotten to go to DL with us once and to DW/Cruise with us once also. The youngest is 6 and will be going on this cruise/DW trip with us. He lives in Phoenix, but Dad and/or Mom bring him to Anaheim when we are down there so he does not miss the DL trips with the other grandkids. We took all the GKs and kids to WDW and on a 4 day cruise in Dec 2003. Oldest was 14 and youngest 4 at that time.

I've been looking at the all the sign ideas, I'll have to get my creative juices flowing. I had told my DH about them before our 3-day and almost made one. I didn't see any on that cruise. I would assume we were on board with a lot of first-timers like us. I wonder what the "repeat offender" rate is--how many first time cruisers go on another DCL vacation? It's got to be high, it took us less than a month to decide to go agian, we'll definately rebook on board and save $$ this time.

The repeat rate is very high on some cruises. The Captain has a reception for all repeat cruisers (free drinks!) and on the 10 day cruise Dec 2004 there were so many repeat cruisers that they had the reception on deck 9/10 and everyone on the ship was invited. Dec 2003 and 2005 the reception was held in two of the clubs to accomodate everyone. Our second cruise in 2000 there were only a handful at the reception, maybe 100 or so. That was a 4 day. So, repeat cruisers have grown alot.

Hi all and welcome to the newcomers!

There are some great FL rates out there right now for Feb....wish I could take off again!
We'll be at MVMCP before hand, not sure of the dates - don't think they have been released yet. We will probably stay at the Polynesian for 2 nights before the cruise....it was conveinent and we loved it this past year.
