How many are considered as a "group" for the group rate?? Does this include children and babies??

I'm not sure on that. All I know is DU got a block of rooms and ours is part of that block. Once DU book's all those cabins, there gone and you can't get that rate.

Hello. I am new to this board as of today. I am not sure how this whole thing works, so it will probalby take me some time to figure everything out. I will also be sailing with everyone and just booked our wedding for the double dip cruise. Our ceremony will be on Thursday, December 14, 2006, which also happens to be my dhtb birthday!!!!!

Can't wait for warm weather and fun.

Welcome to the group!! The cruise I am going on this January also had a DIS bride to be who will have the ceremony on Castaway Cay! You should start a thread for weddings at sea!! Let us know if you have any questions!! :grouphug:

Greetings fellow cruisers!

All week I have been thinking - a year from today I will be at . . . . .

Just now I looked at the clock and thought - a year from now I will be off the ship -

So now it is time to get back to celebrating that it is less than a year till we cruise. :cheer2: Looks like we have a large group of DISers and some very special occasions! :)

DH was saying the exact same thing to our kids. Each day we were saying, today we'll be... and today we'll be... but now ... today, we'll be...off the ship!

The good part is - less than a year before we are ON the ship!!

Take care all!

Hi all - we just stepped off the Magic today. I can't wait to get back there next year! It was awesome!

I hope you all had a great time on your cruise. We all want to hear all about it! :earseek:

Ditto what GoofyFD siad -- woudl love to hear summaries or have you post a link to a trip report you may have shared elsewhere. Hope all the travel connections went smoothly and you had a Magical time!!

Can't wait to hear about your trip and what the ship was like, all decked out for Christmas!

Lillygator, I notice on the trip reports thread you said you upgraded at the port, what time did you get there at?

:teeth: Lisa

Pictures Pictures
Words Words Words.

Please let us know how it was, The ship, the islands, and castaway cay (how was the water?)

Penny

Okay, we want the scoop! Pleeeeaaasssseeee!!!! We all know you have laundry to do and that Christmas is less than a week away, but do drop us some details when you get a moment. THANKS!

The ship was all decorated and beautiful, the weather was great. The water was cold - but since I am used to the warm Gulf water it may be fine for my fellow cruisers coming from the North!

It went too quickly!

Everything seemed to go well. I think next year we may switch to late dining, they were kicking us out a couple nights to get set for the late dining, which meant lingering over drinks was not an option....and byt the time we had a nap it was time to get ready for dinner which I didn't really care for. We ate at Palo - too much! The filet was great but had I had the tuna first I would have never had anything else. Zita was an excellent server in Palo, we had her all 4 times!
There are many things we never got to do...just no time. We never saw one of the shows! :) The wine and cheese meet went pretty well...
Castaway Cay was awesome, we had perfect weather but I don't remember the Konk Kooler being yellow and tasting like it did...I could only drink one! On the way back to the ship that day we got 3 for 1 Bahama Mama's...now that's a deal! He would have given us 4 but we couldn't carry them all!

We went from a 6 to a 3...it was the one bedroom suite - two bathrooms - concierge service. Loved it. Just called to see if we can upgrade for this cruise but there are none available at this time. There is one on the 12/2 sailing though. :) as well as a Cat 2!

I think I had my expectations set when I should have just gone with none. There were so many things we wanted to do that conflicted with other events....also as far as meeting DIS'ers..I was kind of disappointed in that it seemed not many wanted to meet??!! Kind of hard to explain, but we did meet many of the ones we had been "talking" to for so long! Next time I will bring more goodies for people and I won't forget my darn mickey magnets...I made some for all the DIS'ers and they were in my DD's backpack which DH left in the car as I was frantically trying to get in line to get me number!
I am keeping early dining for now but will probably change to late. If we did an Eastern again I wouldn't book excursions on both islands as they were back to back and it seemed no time to rest. We snorkled on Pinel Island in St Marteen and had a snorkeling excursion booked for St John but we ended up switching that with the Castaway Cay getaway package as to not lose out on any money. We missed our high tea reservations but we made up for that by hitting the brunch twice. I am not really interested in high tea so I won't book it again. The Pinel snorkel was awesome for beginners and the 5-10 age group, DH and I had been to the end and back by the time some were getting into the water so we went and explored the entire island by ourselves....very cool!
Exotic Rasul - was really fun and I am glad we tried it but will try something else next time. You definitely need flops in there as the floor is HOT!
I am not a "complainer" but our servers were truly horrid...we were seated with one other family and they didn't go back for the last two nights. My one DD only eats cherrios and sits in a high chair as she is 10 months old...twice we had to ask for a high chair and never once were the cheerios there. The cheerios come in a sealed bowl container so they could have easily been sitting on the table waiting. We mentioned to PJ in Palo how wonderful our Palo server was and hinted that we didn't even want to go back to our reg rotation and next thing we knew at dinner the next night the head server as well as the restaurant manager came over to speak with us. I really didn't want to go into deatils with them but.....at one point our asst server told us he can't wait to get off the ship that "this really sucks", now luckily he told us this when the other family was not there but I didn't really want to hear that. They were both nice but it was not up to par at all. The other family had cruised 7 times and said we should have our drinks waiting etc...they had to ask each night if DH wanted Coke or Diet....now we ate at Palo for brunch had Zita, went for dinner and had Zita and she brought us our drinks without asking...!! I guess only the best do go to Palo!

Wow, that's discouraging to hear about the lousy service you had. Sorry to hear that. :guilty:

I've been reading that the service has really gone downhill lately. That makes me a little nervous about what we can expect for next year. After speaking so highly to our friends about how great our Sept cruise was, especially the wait staff, they actually went and booked the same one too! I sure hope we don't experience this next year.

I hope DCL listens to their customers and is able to address these problems.

Everyone else seemed to love their servers....ours just didn't mesh well and really weren't up to par. And it wasn't too terrible, but come on, a high chair at dinner is not too much to ask to be there beforehand is it?

I have loads of pics....I am probably just going to post a link to photobucket once they are uploaded...having never done it before would that work for everyone to access?
