Thanks! I am thinking that we should have enough education opps to mix in with the regular work. I included the tour with interactive ruins time, visiting the village school to donate and observe, stingrays at CC, catameran at CC with history of island, possible research for Cozumel since we have nothing planned there, plotting our group's location on a map to note the States figuring distance traveled to reach the port & find out who is going the greatest & shortest distance, interactions with CMs to find out about where they are from, and ask the Captain a few questions. Of course, I could also include something about budgeting for the trip or gas milage on our way to the port. He is learning how to use a calculator (they have to use one for the EOG tests in 3rd grade) so he could figure that kind of stuff out. He can do the math work before the cruise either before we leave or on the trip down to get it over with. I want him to keep a journal this trip too. He really liked having one last year.
It sounds like your little lad will be very busy!

So sad and scary.

A few years ago, I had to have foot surgery and the doctor actually wrote ON my leg with a sharpie pen "THIS LEG".

I kid you not. :sad2:

My mom had knew surgery and she wrote that on her own leg!!

I am thinking that he can do alot of the initial leg work for these in the weeks before we leave so that he can still have fun on the cruise. :cool1: He has to read anyway so a book or two on stingrays and the ruins or Costa Maya would help with that. He can do the map beforehand too.

Hi Amy, are you having fun on your mini vacation?

Are you jumping on the beds like a little kid to pass the time?

Okay...I am nutty I know! :rotfl:

Do you have the internet in your room? I guess I am assuming that you are in a hotel.

Where are you from though?

pretty much nowhere, my family moved around all over the US -- over 20 moves in 12 years. I lived in California the longest during that time -- 5 years in middle school/high school. Then Minnesota for the last 13 years. Actually I'm really feeling like it's time to move but dh doesn't want to.

DH felt blah all weekend. DD woke up with a sore throat today and I feel congested and blah. I guess the silver lining is that hopefully we're getting the illnesses over and done with before december. ;)
I'm just getting over it my self. I like the idea of everyone being over it before December. :thumbsup2

OH NO!!!! There might be a chocolate shortage because the producers are going on strike!!! Stock up now!!!!! :lmao:

Another silly from the Morkerts...DrHug had a quad bypass and when they came to take him to surgery my BIL put a sticky note on his forehead that said "cut here". :lmao: :rotfl2: The surgeon had a great sense of humor and thought that was very :rotfl:
:rotfl2:
I have a friend who was having surgery and the anesthesiologist was a friend of his. When he woke up after surgery, he found that the friend had drawn big flowers around his nipples while he was under. :rotfl2:

Our neighbors (remember we live in the country) had a peacock for several years. It was the most annoying animal I have ever had the displeasure to deal with! It was beautiful but man are they LOUD...

Oh my gosh i would be there every day. Did you make cookies and take them over to them, you might get on TV as the nice neighbor!!

It's close to my office, but I can pretend it is close to my house! We drove by today. Lots of awnings, tons of garbage trucks and rows of big dump trucks. They have those huge flashing signs up on the streets around that say Extreme Makeover in process slow down. They have metal barriers on both sides of the street for spectator area. They even have a spectator bus stop!

I am considering my timing on this myself. Since we just went to WDW - I thought it would look bad if I announced the cruise shortly after returning. I was hoping to wait until parent conferences - but that may not be until Nov. and I feel funny waiting that long - seems sneaky.

We don't tell the teacher anything... Sophia tells her, hse already knows, the teacher brought it up at PT conferences and told us she knew because Sophia already told her. Nothing is ever a secret with that girl!

I wrote a note to the teacher the first week of school giving her all the days DD will be out until January and why. She has not said anything, Parent Teacher Conference is next week so hopefully everything is cool!
