Silly girl.... ;)

The number 1 always comes before the number 2. The first definition listed in a dictionary is the most popular most used definition so I am with the majority on this one! :thumbsup2

Dad Recording Football Game Mistaken For Sniper
SWAT Team Called In For Man On Roof

POSTED: 6:43 am CDT October 18, 2006

MIDVALE, Utah -- A parent attempting to record a middle school football game from the school's roof was misidentified as a sniper, causing police to evacuate hundreds of people from the field.

James Kranz wanted to shoot video of his children playing on Saturday. But an officer spotted him climbing a ladder onto the school's roof with what looked like a rifle, said police Sgt. Gregg Olsen.

"An officer saw a man on top of the roof, walking around, pacing back and forth," Olsen said. "He was acting extremely suspicious."

This posted on a tech newsletter that I get . . . "Good Morning Silicon Valley" . . .

No, you can't check your BlackBerry -- this is an intervention, dammit! The headlines are all referring to "Net addiction," but that's just a convenient shorthand for what Stanford's new nationwide study of Internet use found: Between 6 and 14 percent of computer users in the study showed signs of compulsive behavior online. "We worry when people use virtual interactions to substitute for real social interactions -- and seeing their real relationships suffer, as a result," said psychiatrist Elias Aboujaoude, leader of the research team. "Sneaking out of bed, once your partner is asleep, to go online. Missing deadline after deadline at work, while visiting chat rooms. And when you cut back, feeling irritable, anxious or restless. Those are red flags." If you had to put a clinical label on it right now, Aboujaoude said, "impulse control disorder" would probably be closer than "addiction."
Wait until he hears about the DIS!

School sued over vacuum cleaner attack
Published: 18th October 2006 16:36 CET

A school in Uppsala is facing a 25,000 kronor compensation demand after a teacher attacked a child's face with vacuum cleaner.

The Child and Pupil Ombudsman (BEO) is handling the case against the Grundsten school after the matter was reported in June.

According to the report the pupil, who is in the intermediate level, was fooling around with a vacuum cleaner with which he was meant to be clearing up sawdust. The teacher saw red, slammed the pupil down on a table and began sucking his face and mouth with the vacuum cleaner.

After the incident the pupil had difficulty sleeping and was afraid to go to woodwork class. The pupil's father was told by the school head that there was nothing she could do about the situation and that he was entitled to take it further if he wished.

Uppsala municipality has confirmed that the teacher lost control. He was said to be devastated by the matter and tried to apologise to the child. He also offered an apology to the boy's father.

The teacher was off on sick leave for the rest of the school year and is no longer employed at the school.

According to BEO the treatment of the child was abuse.

In April this year a new law against discrimination and other abusive behaviour in schools was introduced in Sweden. Under this law, it is highly likely that the child will be awarded compensation.

'Anatomy' Star T.R. Knight Says He's Gay
By Associated Press

This 2005 publicity photo, released by ABC, shows actor ...
NEW YORK - "Grey's Anatomy" star T.R. Knight says he's gay, but hopes people don't consider that "the most interesting part of me." The 33-year-old actor addressed rumors of his sexuality in a statement to People magazine Thursday.

"I guess there have been a few questions about my sexuality, and I'd like to quiet any unnecessary rumors that may be out there," Knight's statement read. "While I prefer to keep my personal life private, I hope the fact that I'm gay isn't the most interesting part of me."

Knight plays Dr. George O'Malley on the popular ABC drama. A former stage actor, his television credits also include "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" and "Law & Order: Criminal Intent."

Knight's "Grey's Anatomy" character, a bumbling, puppy-eyed surgeon, has long been in love with Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo).

Ahhh, you're Pennsylvania Dutch. :thumbsup2 DH also grew up in PA....in the Poconos.

One time during our "dating" years (i.e. I still tried to impress him with my culinary skills)....he mentioned how much he liked chicken pot pie.

Seizing the opportunity to score some brownie points, I decided to make a homemade one for him. Cooked a chicken, cut it into perfect pot pie pieces (this was before the days of pre-packaged cooked chicken in the grocery store), sauteed the veggies, rolled out a pastry crust for the top.....even bought a new dish to cook it in.

I was working in D.C. then and he lived in Maryland, so the plan was to transport it to his place and finish the culinary masterpiece there. All was going well until I opened the oven door, took out the dish and went "ta da!" His response was "What is that?!?"

Me: It's chicken pot pie. :goodvibes

DH: No it's not. :sad2:

Me: YES, it is! I made it from scratch. :lovestruc

DH: Well, it's not like any chicken pot pie I've ever eaten. :sad2:

Me: :furious:

Turns out, chicken pot pie made correctly (IMHO) is baked and has a crust on top. Chicken pot pie made in DH's world was what I'd call chicken & noodles.

Never made it for him again.

:rotfl:

Did he at least like your version? :Pinkbounc

what's 80's night? Just playing 80's music? From pictures posted it looks like there is a skit or dress up? Anyone been?

and for those who have had the pleasure of nighttime entertainment what do you recommend (aside from the main shows)? Between my dad and Flounders and the club, I plan on painting the town!

It's at the club one night.

I'm not much of a painter but I do like to watch the painters so we go to the club for awhile. We usually end up at the piano lounge.
