any Aerosmith fans?

ETA: they are coming in concert to the Ford Ampitheatre in Tampa 11/22 - a WED for crying out loud! Why can't they do these things on a Friday or Saturday night?

Love Aerosmith! :thumbsup2 :cool1:

Well I for one am glad to see tax dollars FINALLY being spent on something useful! DISing!!! :lmao: :rotfl2:

:lmao:

Why can't all of these stupid political campaign ads tout something as wonderful as the DIS! It would make me change the channel a lot less frequently! ;) :rotfl:

We're looking to go see Trans Siberian Orchestra either in Charleston, WV or one of the venues in PA later in November.

It is a great concert! We saw them in OKC last year.

OK, now that most of the moms have weighed in, and had the chance to have their fun . . .
My object in posting was not sympathy, or to get you all riled up. Hopefully you all had fun reading what incredible dorks we guys can be, and how changed our world has become from that of our fathers.
And on behalf of Dads everywhere . . . a little secret . . . it is no longer just the mom's world . . .
(let them keep thinking that if they want to - it's more peaceful that way)

BTW - where are all my guy friends? Too chicken to come to my defense? :rolleyes1

Sorry John,

We do not have kids, so when DW is away, I live like a bachelor......not the same thing! :teeth:

Okay , I will give you some what of the short version

My Mom went in for Back surgery Friday, she is fine but I have been running back and forth to check on her when Dad has been at work , Because of that my plane building has been delayed so I am behind on that . DS 14 became ineligible for football with only 2 games left cause he getting an F in Band ...Holy s#it Band ??? I couldnt believe it ..It appears that when he was supposed to be performing at the Varsity game he decided not to perform but just watch the game with his friends and he got caught ...Dumb a** ..anyway since the band director saw him he loses 65% of his grade in band ,,,which he had an A now its an F ...He is the starting receiver for the freshman team and Coach wants him on Varsity next year , they were undefeated till last week couldnt play and they lost big time ..DS feels like crap cause he let his team down , so he has been bummed ...other then that ...its okay ...Im stressed cause being a coach myself I know what it feels like when you have a player you need out there ...and hopefully this wont effect his aspirations to play for USC after High School ...Okay , you gotten more out of me in this post then over the last 6 months ....lol

Todd,

Dealing with ill parents is one of the toughest things about our stage in life - I feel quite helpless with my mom.

As for your son, someday he will look back on it, and have hopefully learned a valuable lesson. It's tough, and sounds harsh, but at least it is Freshman ball, and not Varsity. Good luck.

As to working on the plane - surprised you did not get at least one Wahhhhhhhhh!
(maybe it is still coming)

Just a warning to my fellow geeks:
You know you've been trying for the pirate: posts too much when you find that you're driving the car, glance at the odometer, see that it's at 68,022 and immediately think: "Aww, how'd I miss the pirate: ??"

 :rotfl2:

Me too ..... except the DISDog is almost like having a child. At least I don't have to get him dressed for school.

Well, partner sent a note to the clinic manager to see if we can get him in that day. Otherwise he will contact his agency and see if they can book him somewhere. Pretty short notice though and the jobs for that day likely are filled. :rolleyes1 Oh well.
Angie - good job of breaking your long story into several posts...John,take note!!!!

You are SO right Lisa ... I am glad the Band Director did stick to it ..Hopefully it is a hard lesson learned for Dylan ...He knows he let his Team mates down , His Bandmates , Coaches and of course us ...He went to school the following day and apologized to his whole team and coaches in front of everyone and also the band and director ...He said it was the hardest thing he had to do , trying to explain to his other team mates what he had done ....He also wrote his band director a 2 page letter just to say he was sorry and he would accept his punishment and would move forward from here in a positve light rather then take it negative ....

I know its hard for him ...but hopefully he will understand that its time to start making the commitments and sticking to them ....

pirate:

We all need more kids like Dylan, and more parents like Todd.

Hi all...
Heard a report on the radio about this (after shopping in the complex that includes IKEA) and had to share some of the info from a new Stanford study on internet addiction (or "problematic" internet use). Now, this wouldn't apply to anyone here, I'm sure.
13.7 percent found it hard to stay away from the Internet for several days at a time.
12.4 percent stayed online longer than intended very often or often.
12.3 percent had seen a need to cut back on Internet use at some point.
8.7 percent attempted to conceal non-essential Internet use from family, friends and employers.
8.2 percent used the Internet as a way to escape problems or relieve negative mood.

I think as a group we need to discuss our problem :teeth:

nope...we don't have money for lights....except when the coach makes all the parents turn on their car lights and shine them on the football field...

...don't laugh...he has done this in the past...AND FOR THIRD GRADERS!!!
They have done that around here for the soccer field! Crazy!
