Lisa - that's great that DD went to school with no problems....I could already hear the argument, "but, he gets to stay home".

DD just doesn't like going to school. She hates leaving me. While I am glad that she loves me, it is emotionally exhausting to deal with her when she cries on hte way into school or after I take her to CCD. :guilty:

It seems as if DD3 has a touch of croup. Apparently she was up early this morning coughing a lot, but no one woke me up. :confused3 She is fine all day though, but has that "seal-type couch. Her teacher said it seems to be going around. Back to school is sooooo fun!

okay - i can share this with you guys....

I just had a jerk come into my office...not one of my workers but some othere office. Anway - he caught an attitude..we went back and forth...bottom line...I realy had to put him in his place...not very fun...but when he left I was fuming....then another lady in my office came in and said she heard all that and thought I needed a hug. I was fine till she came in and then I started crying. I HATE WHEN I CRY IN THE OFFICE. DH gets down right ANGRY at me if I cry in the office. So all you other DH don't need to comment here!!! I know it is that femaile thing...but geesh!!! And then I get more mad at myself for crying so the whole thing becomes this downward spiral.

Anyway - YUCK! Just had to get it off my chest....I keep checking to see how red my eyes are. I think it will be Margaritas for lunch today!

:sad2: :sad2:

Oh that is the worst!!! :( They seem just fine during the day but sound so terrible at night. :grouphug: to DD from DS.

:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: Karen!!!

Do you work with DH? Just know that you are not only a woman, but human as well. With feelings. That gets upset with %@#@ men. Who needs some crying time. No matter WHERE it happens to come about. At least woman usually cry instead of doing something that can be destructive!! :teeth:

Yes!!! That bothers me! I will allow my daughter to get her ears pierced...when she is old enough to beg! My son will not be allowed to get his pierced. Call me what you want...maybe in some ways I am a bit old fashioned. I seriously do not care what other people do with their children in this regard, that is their family and personal business. I am just not a fan myself. Anyway....if I want to treat my goose and gander differently that is my right...but I don't want others (their school) to do that!!!! I hope I didn't open a can of worms with this remark...it is just my opinion. :stir:

I will let both of my kids get their ears pierced at some point in time if they really want to. I want my kids to be old enough to take care of them mostly by themselves so I probably would not go much younger than 8/9 or so. If they ask for pierced ears I think it is something that I will make them wait 4-6 months after they ask just to make sure it is not something they are asking for on a whim. After that if they still really want them then I think I will allow it. Although only one set of holes until they are teens. No other piercings or tatoos, etc. until they are 18.

I think I tend to be fairly liberal on this issue. I think of it kind of like a picking my battles kind of thing. In the grand scheme ear piercings just don't seem worth the battle to me.

seems all four of us have a touch of this as well. Haley and John are the worst. I plan to take the girls to the Dr. tomorrow.

Karen - I don't like crying either, but sometimes it makes you feel much better afterward. Hope you have a better day and just think ~ tomorrow is Friday!

Awwwww, thank you!

DH was surprised when I took her to school. I had no idea she had been up since 4:30!! She was acting fine and wanted to go. If he had woken me up, I could have taken her into the bathroom with the steam. I've become a very sound sleeper lately and DD would much rather go to DH if she wakes up since he will not put her back in bed.

I didn't think about that. If you get the car for the pre cruise then you can go to dinner, or walmart, or anywhere you might want before. Then for post cruise get the limo to pick up at the port and drop you at the airport. Then you can have both!;)

Brandi - this is what we always do. I already have our rental car from budget but I don't have the limo set up for the return. Is anyone hearing good or bad stories on the limo companies lately on the regular boards?

Karen, I think that it is a human thing. :grouphug: I've been there done that...even with PTO stuff. Some people just suck the life out of you.

Karen,
Hang in there. I totally understand that downward spiral: if one tear escapes, then they're all coming.
Now, someone needs a silly story to get Karen cracking up in the office and forgetting about the jerks!

I was planning on doing a mommy/daughter day when getting DD's ears pierced. If they even want them pierced.

I have a feeling they will, both are obsessed with jewelry. I had to move my jewelry box to keep Samantha out of it!

I thought about this today. I doubt that it will be the same with another group. Lisa, can your magic powers allow us to keep this up if we want to after the cruise for as long as we want?

I talk to you guys more than my extended family these days.

Oh boy, it is really raining outside now!

BTW - can't sleep yet because dinner was Wendy's drive thru at 10:00 - great for the challenge!

John1

Actually I was wondering about this just last night. I know there have been offshoots of the DIS on ezboards so I thought maybe I would look into creating a board over there that might be a way for us all to stay in touch. Then again if the DIS will let us just have this thread go on and on forever then maybe that will work as well.

How is William feeling Lisa? :grouphug:

He is resting on the couch now listening to the TV and trying to get some sleep. I think it has been an hour since he ran to the bathroom and the water is staying down!!! :thumbsup2 He wants to go to the store but I am going to keep us here.

Too bad the dates for '08 aren't out yet. Maybe they'll be out by our cruise, and we can discuss. I know we can't all make it for December as several have said so . . . I would change times of year to have fun with this group!

Some of us have been together before, Angie, Lisa, V, and us . . .

Do the rest of you guys think of this as kind of a weird "blind date"?

Who knows - when we meet in person, you may really want to run for the hills!

John1

:rotfl: This will be the strangest blind date I have ever been on! ;)

DH and I have decided that we really want to rebook for '08 with this group if possible. We have some restrictions on dates but we hope that we will be able to make it work. :)

Actually Lisa at our church we have more girls that serve then boys. For our Good Friday Service, no boys volunteered so the girls had to carry the cross.

Luckily with Devon so tall, she really helped out.

A couple years ago i heard there was a faction of the catholic church who wanted girls removed from the altar.

I'm not a screaming women's activist but the thought of removing them saddens me. :guilty:

I think it comes down to needing the people. For whatever reason (and I know ther are many) there just aren't the men/boys to help serve. Some diocese need the women/girls to fill in or else we would be there for 2 hours distributing Communion. I too don't believe that women have any demands...I consider it a privelage to serve.

Lisa - growing up, we didn't have girls serving...but times change. We couldn't exist without them.

I seriously doubt that! I think we have all been so honost with each other we already "know" each other!

After the cruise we will have to change out thread name to...Post 12/9 cruise dis geeks unite to get through the depression.

:lmao:

Part of my trip planning spreadsheet actually includes time to cry at the end of the cruise. I know it will be so hard to disembark and start the looooonnnnggggg drive home.
