Ugh, mergers - been there gone through that many times. Don'tyou love the "behave as nothing has changedapproach" Sending :grouphug: on the timing and planning with your trip.

I'm too high up on the food chain to pretend like nothings has happened -- although that's the line I keep telling everyone else (giggle).

Unfortunately I'm way in the thick of it. As her admin, I'm pretty much in charge of a good portion of the tracking of all the tasks that we have to complete to get to closing.

Carla - I on the other hand don't want to post anything negative about MIL on the board. LOL. but privately - now that is another story.

If you all come across me grumbling and/or fuming you will be sure to know why. :furious:

DH wants an SUV and I LOVE MY ACURA so we are looking at the Acura MDX. It is 4 WD and has the side curtain airbags. Safer for DD always trumps everything.
Without a doubt Kim. The new CRV is based on the MDX features and European features. The only thing DH didn't like about the MDX is premium fuel.

what kind of Acura do you have?

I'm on my 3rd Acura Integra. It's my commuter car (I drive about 45 miles each way).

It's in the shop right now -- I had a faulty head gasket that caused some major radiator/water pump damage. Luckily I had an extended warranty and it's all covered. I might even get to use their loaner car while it's being fixed -- I hope I get the TL -- I *heart* that car... Satellite radio and GPS!

We were looking at the new Saturn Skye. Wowza! DrHug and I thought we would look really spiffy in that little car. Nice lines! It would not hold any grandkids though. Just the two of us!
Cool!! Saturn Sky

Hubby just mentioned that Chrysler is coming out with a new SUV that has a V8 engine but can revert down to V4 when not being used to tow or whatever. we are going to look at that.

Our minivan has 120,000 miles in less than 6 years and has had almost no repairs. well except for the time that the porcupine ate all the rubber hoses underneath and we had several thousand dollars in replacements that needed to be done.

I have the TL, but it has 125,000 miles on it. I have done all the maintenance I am supposed to and it has never broken down, but it needs a new battery cable and for some reason with that car you need to take the car apart to fix it and DH does not think it is worth adding the money, he is worried about the cold and the battery problem and the miles. But dang, I love that car!

FYI, I bought my 1999 in 1998. So no satelite or GPS... I heart that car too, but DH thinks I need 4 wheel drive and that DD is safer in the winter with 4 wheel drive and side airbags.

A what? a PORCUPINE? Where were you?

right in our driveway - we had to spend the next 2 years trying to squeeze both cars into the garage - I think he must have found other cars to eat by now. LOL.

he damaged both cars for over $3,000. ugh.

I came back from disney shopping and catching up and found out I had been talking to myself. The only thing worse than pulling a John is pulling a John and not realizing it!

Do you ever sleep? Good grief! You are on the go all day with your kids, I would be comatose!

one night we left the salt for the front walkway sitting on the front doorstep and got woken up around 1am with someone banging on the front door - I was terrified. But it was the porcupine wrestling with the salt bag - he thought he found nirvana. they love salt. it's some kind of adaptation from living around humans I think.

aren't you on the go all day with DD? and work.

plus mine are at K for 4 hours - wow. more time for cleaning. LOL.

plus I just hit 500 posts. Worth staying up for.
