I have a Blue guide to Mexico and they list K. as one of the significant sites - I figured I would save Tulum for an actual week long trip to Mexico - some time in the distant future. I see you are going there as well. That is a site that I studied when I took a class in Mayan and Inca civilizations.

I was in Guatemala several years ago and went to the big site there too.

I thought the sounds of the jungle were as amazing as the ruins themselves. I can still hear the monkeys and birds etc. The sunlight through the canopy is beautiful.

My little girl, Jaea, would love to spend time with your daughter I am sure. She loves big girls now. But she is quite a chatterbox and I can understand wanting to have some quiet time. Otherwise, please consider joining us for part of the day if you would like. Hubby also is a social butterfly

I have always thought that Moms acutally all have mutiple personalities. Mommy, Wife, Employee, Cook, Housekeeper, and occasionally, they just get to be the 18 year old version of themselves.... (oops i forgot the all important Grandma)

Yeah but what about DH and DD? What am I saying - of course they are already all set - except for the transport that is. Isn't that always the way.

Because my BIL is an idiot? We were leaving the hall with everyone blowing bubbles with the street lights hitting them. It was like a dream and we were telling each other how perfect the day had been. I was really hoping for a good picture. We were walking thru to the car and someone said something so I turned to answer them and ended up with a mouthful of silly string. The gloves were then off. DH didn't realize what had happened...I was trying to spit it out and it was over my entire face & flowers & dress & hands. I yelled above the crowd to get the "mess" off of me NOW! DH realized something was then wrong and led me to the car to help me get it all off. By this point I was a mess...crying...which IDK how a bride doesn't cry at some point on her wedding day with the lack of sleep the night before & the level of stress you are under whether you think you are or not. Well, he calmed me down and we got into the car. The picture that was taken after all of that is so much better than I thought it would be.

Oh, so we were at the same hotel as his family and we stopped by to see his SIL & both BILs when we got back to the hotel. SIL was telling me that she was so sorry that DH's friends had done that. I was close to tears talking about it & noone said anything. It wasn't her DH ... another BIL. Anyhow, it wasn't until we were at their family's Thanksgiving dinner at his GP's house that I found out he was involved. DH's aunt told me that she tried to warn BIL about what he did. I was so upset at him at that point for being a coward & not coming forward and appologizing. The next week we got the proofs back and there he was with a can in his hand so I would have found out then anyway.

Well, he got married in 2003. (We were married in 1997.) I gave them a gift with a can of silly string wrapped up in it and a note basically saying that as much as I would love to get revenge, I was too classy to do that to his fiance. It turned out that he had told her that he was worried that I would do something because of what he did but didn't know if I knew about him or not.

When I arrived at our weekend wedding site I found that they had set up tables for 6 when they had told me 8 - so the whole guest list needed to be reconfigured. I just threw my hands up and said it would have to be open seating. Hubby and one of my girlfriends had to re-do it because I was just too fried.

You really do need a few things to look back on and laugh at.

I lied to the bride a little bit. I thought it was my job as her matron of honor to keep her calm and clueless! She thought that just the hook broke and we were sewing it back on...nope. She had over an inch sewn up the back. We never told her. She called me on Sunday to ask about the dress. I told John (her DH) at the reception that she was sewn into it and that she didn't really know. She said she was shocked when he went for scissors!
