Just in case anybody is wondering, I am recoding inventory items in our system at work today, YAWN.

I am watching the Today Show coverage and remembering that day. I took DS to 2 yr PS at 9 am then DD to her 1 year check up. On the way there I heard about a small plane hitting the tower. With images of a crop duster type plane bouncing off the building & falling to the street below I said a prayer for anyone it woud have hit on the ground. While in the room waiting for the doctor, I heard the nurses talking about a terroist attack. On the way home they announced smoke coming from the pentagon. I turned on the TV & was stunned to see both towers burning. I sat on the couch clutching DD until 11:45 when I had to pick up DS. I went right back to the couch watching TV until DS asked why someone was knocking down all the buildings. DH was at his parent's. His mom had her first tumor removed on 9/10, or he would have been out of town at meetings and I would have been even more upset worrying about him flying home.

I guess this is our generation's "where were you" event. Before this, I thought that was when the first shuttle exploded. I was a freshman in college on my way to class and heard about it from a friend on the sidewalk.

DD had been up all night with an ear infection and fever so she was sleeping next to me and, remember there is a 2 hour time difference, we got a phone call from work saying a plane had hit the world trade center. I thought that is horrible but why are you calling me at 7:30 to tell me this. Little did I know.....

The dining thing sounds great. I hope they put the stations close to one another as well. We are going to have so much fun. I cannot begin to tell you guys how much I am looking forward to meeting at all of you. I only wish we were on a much longer cruise together.

I've had a cigar ONCE....and it was at DTD/PI...it was in 1997 the first time I took DH to Disney....we went to HOB and somehow somewhere along the way ended up with cigars....I have a picture with it in front of the Virgin sign.


that was my first and last.....we aren't smokers, not sure what we were doing?? One too many I guess.

I am going to my first WW at Work meeting here in a few minutes. I really need to get serious about all of this. Hopefully the extra accountability here will help me some. I know the program works if I follow it but I just have no will power.

OK, I just went thru the dining stuff again and added Diana's people to the list. I was off on the count on the site and the spreadsheet so I went thru and checked each one. Vanessa's dad wasn't on the site and Carla's DH must have gotten to my spread sheet. Everything is current now.

We have 139 people linked for dining with the DIS group!!!!! Some are completely unaware of what they will be going thru. Some facts....
86 people in early dining - 5 full stations - 15 tables
53 people in late dining - 3 full stations - 9 tables

This is going to be fun!!!

The whole linked dining thing is totally awesome! I love love love it!!!!! I can't wait to cruise!

I got up lazily on Sunday morning and booked excursions. Everything went just fine thank goodness. It was probably easy because we didn't want much to begin with. I'll PM them to Lisa for the website in a little bit.

I am really looking forward to the dining "experience"

Since John has become the official spell checker I'm a little nervous about posting too much. I guess I'll just have to keep it brief.

I am a strong confident woman...spelling mistakes and all!!!! I don't care who is checking....unless it is for a grade!!!! I can't wait to talk like a pirate. My DS always sings "What do you do with a scurvy pirate, make them walk the plank." That is from the backyardigans

We'll be making sand angels at Jockey's Ridge this weekend! DS6 and I were just talking about how he totally wiped out running down one of the steep slopes last time and did a big summersault. He had sand in his ears, mouth, etc. He likes to call it Sandyland.

It only takes us about 2 hours to get there from home, so we try to go to OBX a few times a year.

I was lucky this year because we went two times! I am sure DS6 loves Jockey's Ridge! I love it there at sunset! My DS gets so worn out from the long walk to the top. Then he runs around like a maniac when we are there. I wish I had one in my backyard!

My 9/11/01:
It was the first day that the construction crew arrived at my house to build our addition. Also, teachers in our district were on strike, so my oldest did not have school. She had to ride along to take her little sister (3 at the time) to preschool (seemed so sad at the time that she had to watch her baby sister go to school and she couldn't go!). Then we had to stop at the church office to pick up some CCD paperwork. I had heard a radio report on the way about a small plane (also thinking NOT a jet) hitting one of the towers. Mentioned the report to the CCD director and we both chitchatted that we prayed for the best for all. Got home 5 minutes later and the construction guys (just 3) were in the TV room watching the news. We all just stood and stared. The construction crew chief is a volunteer firefighter and on the county HAZMAT team, so he was called to that job instead. The construction job was delayed, and I think I watched TV constantly for days. Most of the news sites on the net were really jammed.
