I spent my childhood in Colorado. Beautiful state, but you WILL find snow there! ;)

My dad was stationed in Colorado Springs for a short time when I was little, I guess it had to be around winter time because all it ever did was snow. I hated it because it meant I couldn't go out and play as much as I liked and I was always freezing cold!

shouldn't you be packing?....starting a TR???? ;)

How's the spider bite? Hopefully she is ok!!
I'm packed, just have to put my toothbrush in tomorrow morning. We have to be at the airport at 9 and it is an hour drive so we are in good shape.

Your grandparents made a smart choice! I came here as a baby on a green card from Canada; my parents thought they would move back but they ended up staying and moving around the U.S. a lot. I lived the longest in California but married Paul who is from Minnesota. I became a US citizen here. Paul's business is here and he's self-employed... so we'll probably never leave. I wouldn't mind moving to Florida if I could stay away from the hurricanes!! For now I will have to be content just vacationing there as much as I can. I'm also really intrigued by Colorado --no humidity and bugs. The three things I can't stand are bugs, humidity, and snow -- all standard fare in Minnesota. We're planning to visit out there next year.

A great place to avoid bugs, humidity and snow is the southwest. I grew up mostly in Arizona and have lived in Nevada for 15 years and if you can handle the heat it's great.

Thanks Angie!! She has it on there both ways so I won't bother her. That's cute, we have a PJ and a JP.

Any news on the spider bite? I hope they went into urgent care after all!
:sad2: I called and her DH thought it "don't look no worse than yesterday", and he did not see any red streaks, so they put some drawing salve on it tonight. If it is not better tomorrow after work she will go to urgent care. :confused3 Her DH is a, ah, let's see, Larry the Cable Guy comes to mind. Been going on since Monday morning, so I guess one more day will be ok. Probably just make the healing process take longer. :sad2:

Our DS and DDIL live in Phoenix and they love it.

Goodnight. I'm going to get some sleep so I will be :Pinkbounc :yay:  for our trip tomorrow. Hopefully I will have a minute to check in tomorrow morning. We will be taking our laptop for ressies Sat night, but I don't know how much time I will devote to this.

I guess I will be the insomniac tonight. I can't sleep and my stomach is not feeling so great. I really, really, really hope I am not coming down with what Aaron had. I think it is probably just stress.

How many posts have I now given you Aaron? ;)

You guys were not kidding about the slow boards. This is not going to be fun to deal with this weekend.

We are in a fairly small town and would be easy to find. We have been on this board for several years and no crazies have looked us up yet! We are still waiting..... :teeth:

yet.....

Have a great trip Angie!!! :sunny:

Kim - you are looking at the GF adventures ? we have done all of them - I think she would really like the cooking school - I think she might be a little old for the Alice tea -although my kids are doing it again in 2 weeks.

In the cooking school - you make an apron and they exit with their toque and apron on - great photo ops. They had fun.

The tea is only an hour. My kids thought it was kind of silly when they were 4.

My DH once had a pimple or mosquito bite on his elbow that he scratched and it became infected and swelled up his whole entire arm. It felt hot to the touch even. We took him to urgent care ASAP and they started meds. It still took another weeks or so to go down. (luckily they didn't have to lance anything cause he's a baby when it comes to doctors. He had an MRI once and had to take a sedative. Oh boy was that day fun. He was very loppy and tripped on a curb and so i had to hold his hand and take him around that day till it wore off.)

oh my I forgot to ask one more question. DD is seriously allergic or has a horrible reaction to the fake smoke, like in the nutcracker during the snow queen part. She gets a very intense headache and then starts screaming (or at least she did the first 2 times we had this). Do they use it in any of the shows? As long as we sit pretty far back, she is ok, but it would be nice to know in advance...

Thanks!

kim

We too have seen the shows multiple times . . .

I do believe they use the "fog" if that is what you mean, in Disney Dreams - for sure when they "fly". There are also "pyrotechnics" - fireworks in some of the shows. I would ask to make sure - the concierge should be able to get an answer for you, but I would NOT sit up front.

Now I am in core dump mode. sorry! Today we got a call from a former employees sister. We really liked this employee, but had to fire him for sexual harrasment about 6 months ago. Nothing overt, but he had been warned. Anyway, he committed suicide today. I just feel so sad for him and his family.

One of the first employees I had to fire (for theft) ended up in the same result. That was 17 years ago. I knew him since we were young kids, and knew his whole family. While I never forget those kinds of things, you have to deal with it by understanding that you are not responsible for the actions of others. I never fire people really - they fire themselves by their conduct. If anything further results from that I just try to understand that we all have responsibility for our own lives. Sorry to hear that Kim.

I checked on our ressies. CC number is there, PIF, we are set to book midnight Saturday! :woohoo: It really is getting close now! :Pinkbounc :bounce: Now if I could just find some decent airfare!! :sad2: I'll give it another 2 weeks or so, checking daily, and then just bite the bullet if they don't come down. :surfweb:

Angie - Can you see PIF on the disney site? or are you checking your DU?

we have lunch reservations at cinderellas royal table at 12:30, do you think we could get back by 1:30? Also, do you know what time the cooking class is? that was the best info on the tea!

No. You may not get in right at 12:30 - and then you have to eat, walk back to the monorail, wait, ride the circuit to GF - nope, don't think you can make it.

Does that mean that we should not continue to talk about the talent show on the ship where you volunteered him to sing the solo piece from the musical "The Sound of Music" - "Climb Every Mountain" , while dressed as a nun and using a banana for a microphone? :confused3

Should I not say anything about that?

John1

Ummm... a nun. A NUN?!?! You never said anything about a NUN! :scared1:

You said pirates..not Nuns...what does Pirate night have to do with nuns ?? :headache:
