My grandparents....they are English - green card and all (well just Gma now) but they took the boat from the UK....(on a 2 yr waiting list) and ending up in Minneapolis MN as their first US home......then moved to Lakeland FL!!

Your grandparents made a smart choice! I came here as a baby on a green card from Canada; my parents thought they would move back but they ended up staying and moving around the U.S. a lot. I lived the longest in California but married Paul who is from Minnesota. I became a US citizen here. Paul's business is here and he's self-employed... so we'll probably never leave. I wouldn't mind moving to Florida if I could stay away from the hurricanes!! For now I will have to be content just vacationing there as much as I can. I'm also really intrigued by Colorado --no humidity and bugs. The three things I can't stand are bugs, humidity, and snow -- all standard fare in Minnesota. We're planning to visit out there next year.

I was weary at first but then figured if someone is going to get me/us....it's very easy to find out about people without them posting.....not usre how great of a thing that is...

you're right -- the phone book or google is about all you need to track someone down. Actually if I get kidnapped the police should look first to the door to door salespeople that I seem to keep getting into conflicts with!

We have those and those pesky HURRICANES!!! I am a native Floridian....and while I know what to expect it still makes my tummy go in knots for 7 or 8 months out of the year!

Will Jackson be 4 on the cruise? If so he and my DD Samantha will be in the club together.

Now I am in core dump mode. sorry! Today we got a call from a former employees sister. We really liked this employee, but had to fire him for sexual harrasment about 6 months ago. Nothing overt, but he had been warned. Anyway, he committed suicide today. I just feel so sad for him and his family.
Kim, so sorry to hear this. :grouphug:

I am hoping for a better night's sleep tonight. Last night I made the mistake of staying up until 2am, then had to convince Paul he had to go to the E/R for a toe injury that was hurting him really badly, then Jackson started in waking up every hour or so to grumble about his stuffy nose. Finally Jackson went to sleep and Paul got home around 5 and everyone slept for a grand total of 2 hours. Paul dropped some boards on his toe in the garage and really banged up his toe. They numbed the toe and then burned holes in his toenail to let out the pressure. Is that gross or what?? It was still numb this afternoon which was probably a good thing. Now he can at least sleep, it's not too painful.

So I am off too bed now, goodnight!

What a sad situation Kim! I am so sorry!

thanks, I will go by that too. I am not sure yet what I am bringing other than the bubbles.

I see you are bringing green leis -- thank you! My family won't be wearing green tees so I was going to buy some green leis so folks would know we are with the group, LOL.

Now for the stocking thing, could someone confirm this for me? Lisa is bringing 1 stocking per family and we are going to hang them from the outside of our doors.. and then we deliver goodies to each other's stockings? Sounds very fun, I just want to be sure I am doing everything right and planning what to bring!!

Thanks,
That is right.

7 or 8 months?? Somehow I thought they were only a August - October thing. That must be pretty stressful!

Hope I am ok in assuming that even newbies like me can get in on this... Our info is correct, but please use my son's nickname : J.P. -- rather than his given name which is Jacob. Thank you so much, it must be a lot of work to make Mickey magnets for everyone!
Of course we welcome you to join in on as much of the fun as you can! Send Lisa a PM so she doesn't miss it and she will change JP's name on the website so we will all get used to that. Just PJ backwards!!

Nope, he turns 5 in November so he'll be in the 5-7 year olds with his older brother. I'm a teensy bit afraid he won't be in the clubs at all; last year he wasn't comfortable there without us. This year he is much braver and he will be in more situations this fall that will help him make some strides in this area. So between that and being in the same room as JP, I am really hopeful that dh and I will get to go to Palo!!

But, I am sure Jackson will play with Samantha at other times, he is a big football fan and she's the cute cheerleader isn't she?

Pretty far from the East Coast -- we're in Minneapolis, Minnesota. My parents live in Charlottesville, VA so we go out there frequently. Looks like you are in Florida so you won't have much of a trip to get to Port Canaveral? Lucky girl!

you just prompted me to add that to my profile.. hope no crazy internet people kidnap me now that they know what state I'm in!
We are in a fairly small town and would be easy to find. We have been on this board for several years and no crazies have looked us up yet! We are still waiting..... :teeth:

so it's just me....TG Johnny Depp is the first guest - he is SOOOO HOT!!! Letterman is talking about 21 Jump Street --- that was my first intro to JD as well as Richard Hottie Greico!!!

I fell in love with Johnny Depp when I was a teen and saw him in Nightmare On Elm Street. That movie scared me to death but I couldn't help watching it over and over to see Johnny. :lovestruc I can't believe how much his career evolved.

Thanks Angie!! She has it on there both ways so I won't bother her. That's cute, we have a PJ and a JP.

Any news on the spider bite? I hope they went into urgent care after all!

I spent my childhood in Colorado. Beautiful state, but you WILL find snow there! ;)
