Amy, I think that was your crockpot brisket recipe.....well I made it yesterday, and it was a big hit! :thumbsup2 Thanks for sharing.

Growing up here in the deep south, we always would go get a "Coke". And we always "Go to the beach". Of course as a small child, going to the beach involved a one block walk! :teeth:

Just dropped in for a few random posts...and off to bed.

Just trying to do my part :teeth:

Has anyone rented a bicycle? It says the kids have to ride alone if they don't fit into the chair - we are still riding with training wheels. I can't believe they don't have bikes to accomodate this age group.

anyone?

elaine
They have bikes with training wheels. Someone else may have already commented on this. I'm catching up.

I have a question for Angie and others - you mentioned that there were specials in the spa on shore days - what time would these end? would the price still be good after everyone re-boards or only during the hours when most people are ashore.

Just curious if I could afford to squeeze something extra in if I do it on a shore day.

do they ever reduce the Rasul treatment on these days. It might be fun to do it twice.

thanks.

elaine
It seems that when they do this it is to get some business going when lots of people are off the ship. It usually ends late afternoon. You could probably do a morning excursion and get one of the specials.

I have been busy, busy, busy cleaning tonight. I cleaned the living room and the bathroom and I still have some laundry to fold up. DS has been "working" on his room and DH has been tackling the kitchen and dining room. DH and I are tired so he took a break to go grab us some dinner. Don't want to cook and make more dishes. :rotfl:

My parents are supposed to get here around lunch tomorrow but I have to go to the grocery store first thing in the morning so I really need to finish the cleaning tonight. I also have a bunch of laundry I need to fold.
:scared1: Mom's coming!! :laundy: :lmao: :rotfl2: We do that too!

There are still some in chat Angie and Mickey.
I'm off to bed!

Actually we just turned off the light.

Fun chat as always guys!!!! :)

Angie, does Dr. Hug rotate between stores or is he just assigned randomly?
He works for an agency. He works for everyone. He has worked in all the Safeways in Oregon except a couple. When he first started working for an agency he did a LOT of assignments in the far corners of the state and even down into Nothern Calif since he is liscensed in both states. He spent over 260 nights in Best Western motels the first year. He got paid his regular hourly rate while driving plus mileage so he was willing to drive 6-8 hours each way and cover that stores in the boonies. But now they just pay mileage so he said not more than an hour or so away. Not worth it to spend a day on the road each way when he could be working locally and making $$. I went with him alot and prowled around the small town histoy museums and antique shops while he worked. It was fun seeing the whole state and having our hotels, gas and his food covered.

No beach in Missouri....we are as landlocked as you can get. :rotfl: We do however get to go "to the Lake". Lake of the Ozarks is a HUGE lake just about 75 minutes south of us. It is centrally located so people from all over the state can get to it within a few hours.

We drove past that, and drove past that and drove past that several years ago. We drove from KC to Ft Leonard Wood for our DS's graduation from basic training then back up to Des Moines. It was on the way back that we went around and around and around Lake of the Ozarks. Very pretty country.

Hmmmm. Should not have stopped and fed DrHug on the way home and I would not have missed chat. :sad2:

Caroline, how did your day go? I thought of you this morning and wished you a :grouphug: .

I am very surprised that Lisa got on the plane with no ID. Can't wait to hear that story!

I will turn out the light here. Setting it up close to another milestone for you east coast folks in the morning. G'night.

they must make a lot of money on prescriptions if they are willing to do that. They would be better off sponsoring someone on pharmacy school and make them a lifer - I wonder why more people don't go into this? I know the hours are tough - I haave a cousin who did this and she retired at 50 - just couldn't take the hours any longer.

thanks for the info about the bikes - they couldnt tell me at DCL. We really have to get the kids riding before Dec. - they will be the oldest kids still with training wheels. We have a gravel driveway and our road is not good as a training spot so we really need to drive the bicycles somewhere to practice. They are the only kids who ski, snorkel, rock climb etc. but can't ride a bike. LOL.

oh that was another thing that I could not add myself to after booking other things. I think I got all those fixed but they can't check about the catamaran sail until Tuesday because of the holiday.

I did coincidentally get a reservation for Palo on Monday at 10:30 am so maybe I will see you all there. I also have dinner on Thursday at 8:30 pm.

And tea at 3pm on Thursday - is this the only time offered for tea? I might just skip that - the food at the GF tea is BAD but it is relaxing to just go there and sit down for a while. The pics I saw of the ship's tea looks like it is the same food.
