There is a huge shortage of pharmacists and therefore very competetive. Lots of bigger and bigger sign on bonuses being offered. They have to agree to stay 2 years for the bonus but then are recruited by other companies in desperate need. It is very tough on your body and mind though. DrHug works some 12 hour shifts (9-9) without a lunch or break. He now works fewer days since he can say no to a job offer but the hours are long. When he worked for WM he would sometimes work 12 or more days in a row without a day off. That was because of the shortage and he was the manager. If there was no float to cover days off he just had to work. It is that way with all the retail companies. Needless to say they have a big turnover of managers! A few years of that is all one can take.elaineteresa said:they must make a lot of money on prescriptions if they are willing to do that. They would be better off sponsoring someone on pharmacy school and make them a lifer - I wonder why more people don't go into this? I know the hours are tough - I haave a cousin who did this and she retired at 50 - just couldn't take the hours any longer.

He is thinking of doing agency work right out of college and doing some traveling before he settles with a family. One of the few professions that they start at around $85,000 right out of school. There are agencies that have contracts with federal facilities (VA, Indian Health, Public Health Service, etc) and if you are working for a federal agency you don't have to be liscensed in the state you are in, you just have to be liscensed somewhere, thus he could travel to many states. There is a job right now open in St. Thomas that is a federal job so with any liscense you could work it. BOY!! I thought that sounded really fun, but it requires a 1 year committment and we were just a bit leary of committing to a year in a place we have only been to for 3 one day trips on vacation.

. Not having a reservation for the bikes is not a problem. They have TONS of bikes and walking up and scheduling on the spot is not a problem. Same with the floats. I don't think they would ever run out of floats or snorkel gear.elaineteresa said:thanks for the info about the bikes - they couldnt tell me at DCL. We really have to get the kids riding before Dec. - they will be the oldest kids still with training wheels. We have a gravel driveway and our road is not good as a training spot so we really need to drive the bicycles somewhere to practice. They are the only kids who ski, snorkel, rock climb etc. but can't ride a bike. LOL.
oh that was another thing that I could not add myself to after booking other things. I think I got all those fixed but they can't check about the catamaran sail until Tuesday because of the holiday.

Just ask them to seat you near the private room!
DrHug and I stopped in the Disney store here last week and they had NO clearance area at all.elaineteresa said:I was hoping for another price reduction at disneyshopping before the weekend was over - but maybe it won't happen. Our nearest Disney store is an hour away so we are going to check it out today and see if there are any good sales.

I was very disappointed. I did not know what to do!
I won't pay full price, but I just don't know how to leave the Disney store with out buying SOMETHING!
They have two shops. One with higher end stuff, jewelery, clothing, etc and one with more souvineer stuff. LOTS of DCL stuff. I don't recall how late they are open, but they are near the Walt Disney Theater and are open before and after shows for sure. They do close while in port, laws I think.elaineteresa said:my daughter helped me pick out some cruise sandals yesterday - we have fun shopping together. she loves accessories - she doesn't care that much about the clothes but loves going to Claire's and Bath and Body works etc.
How is the shopping on board the ship - is it the same merchandise that is at Downtown Disney or different? Lots of cruise related stuff? I hope we won't be too busy to look - do they stay open until midnight?

That means a quick stop at the store on the way to the party.
