lbgraves said:I may as well tell you guys what else we found out over the weekend because I think that it is going to affect us quite a bit in the next few weeks. DH's parents met us at the hotel after he picked us up at the airport on Thursday. Later they told me why MIL was walking so slowly. She had surgery two days before to insert a tube thru her back to drain her kidney. The stint that they put in due to the tumor closing off drainage from that kidney became infected and had to be removed...the second time this has happened. That kidney is now shut down & needs to be drained. Her other kidney is opperating at 67%. I don't know what is going on and will have to get DH to call her doctor to find out the prognosis. They are not going to remove the dead kidney, which isn't a great situation from what I can imagine and what I have been able to read tonight. After everything else she has gone thru, this doesn't seem to be able to be overcome and we need to prepare quickly IMO. Renal failure is a possible side effect of the chemo drug she has been taking the past couple years.
Thank you. Ah, DrHug, we are getting a reputation here you are going to have to live up to!!RealMickey said:Thanks!
