Last year the boys started before labor day this year after. I don't want summer to be over yet. Got a call last night that our water trampoline and slide had uprooted the 5 gallon ceament bucket and dragged it about 6 docks down the lake. The wind has been so bad there.

Sorry I was on cruise critic, trying to decide if we are going to the school to take supplies in costa or if we should just go on the ruins tour and do it. I know I can send them with Lisa, but I really want the boys to see the school. I would like them to do some sort of report on it for thier classes with pictures and first hand exp.

A report is a really good idea. I think I will tell DS to let the teachers know that Aaron is going to get some history as well as just have fun. He could take pictures of the ruins back to school with him also. Great idea! :thumbsup2

Hey you guys are a wealth of information....and I can't find this answer on google...

We bought about 10 very large ceramic flower pots for around the pool. As summer starts to die, I'm beginning to wonder if I can leave them out over the winter in cold PA or do I need to lug those heavy things inside..where I really don't have room. Is anyone a gardener? And I'm sure Becka will have a smilie for you! :)
I am not a gardener but my parents are...they always bring their pots inside for the winter. They live really close to me and we have the same kind of winter as you...

You could leave them out but they will get weathered and could break.

I am not help on the gardening thing because I have a "black thumb". I manage to kill even the hard to kill plants. It really is pretty sad. :sad2:

It really is a wonder that my kids have survived..... ;)

do you have plants in the pots or are you worried about the pots cracking? They are ceramic not terra cotta?

The boys are fighting, and DH wants me to go get a ton of pellets today. Last year we had a pellet shortage here, as one of the nearby plants burnt down. I want to start scapbooking again after the boys start school. I am trying to find the boys size 10-12 peter pan and captain hook costums for the cruise and wdw. I am going to wally world today to see if they have a pattern, hate to really have to sew it thoe. see ya.
Disney store has those costumes! Try there!!!! Save on the sewing. My DMom often has sewn costumes but they are often cheaper to buy premade than to buy the material, zippers, elastic, and all of the other notions!

Thank the Good Lord that kids are hardier than plants...or mine would be in the same boat as your! ;)

Becka - I got the teething pills today. Now I just have to hope they work!!!!

I killed an air fern once. :sad2: Went to one of those home decorating parties and we all got an air fern. Was told to just set it in your bathroom and it required no care at all. All of my neighbor's ferns thrived. Mine died! I do silk plants very well though. :)

Silk plants.... I can handle those! I have some that look very real!

I do have 3 planters on my window sill with african violets. They do well and bloom all year round. I think DH helps them along! :thumbsup2 It is hard to believe I was raised on a vegetable farm!!!!

Honestly, I could grow stuff...I just don't want to! Growing things is like work!

Hi all! I don't usually post during work because I have so much to do, but I thought I would give you all a big THANKS today! This morning, I had a workmans comp issue that made me so angry I was just shaking. I could not concentrate, I kept reading the letters over and over and I just could not calm down. So what did I do you ask? I came over here and read all your posts. I have to say it was amazingly effective. The only side effect now is that I am exhasted from expending all that energy. But I am calm and have put everything back in perspective. So THANKS everyone!
