Hi all,

DDs and I just got back from seeing Pirates 2!!!!
(Note to Todd/Captain Jack Sparrow: No, you did not read that it took someone a month to see the movie. Move right along.)
So fun, as you all know!

Hi all...
So was thinking about the whole trip thing again. Would anyone have any ideas as to what I can bring for the Dis goodies... that I can bring for everyone. I looked at the list on the site and you are all sooo creative!

let me know what you think?

I have not seen pirates 2 either. Mostly because DD can't see it. I have heard from everyone that it is very scary for small children. Any thoughts on this? For those of you with 6 year old girls, would you take yours?

Elizabeth, here are the other idea's I had before I decided on the bands.

1. If someone was bringing pencils. little pads to go with it.
2. Lime Green Nail Polish
3. Tree Ornaments
4. Stickers

just thoughts....

Kim (kimerinc),
Help me with the lime green bracelet procedure:

Put a 5x8.5 cushioned mailer, addressed to me and stamped appropriately, inside a bigger envelope and mail it to you.
Do you need our family info (number of people, sizes) in the envelope or in a pm or on the board?

Sorry, this should be simple; apparently these brain cells were lost to one of my children.

I have a sony die cut printer. I love it because it does not smear with water and looks exactly like a professional printer. It is also very small and I can take it anywhere. We did DD's School Halloween pictures with it. We took pictures of every kindergarten student in thier costume and put it in a halloween cover. They looked great! The downside to ours is that it only does 5 x 7 and smaller. You can buy the bigger ones, but it was our first try with a die cut.

You can send me a pm and I will put everything in for you, or put it in your envelope. Which ever way is easiest for you. What I need is how many in each size, plan on the kids getting 2.

Thanks!

DD8 went, but she's also seen the first one. I think this one has a bigger
"Ewww gross" kind of scary. I also think there's a lot that little kids would miss and would get frustrated, either because they can't follow the plot or some of the accents are harder to understand.

We went to monster house and she cried because she was so scared so we had to leave. Does that make you think a No is definite?

I haven't seen Monster House (just a couple of clips on the commercial) but I probably would say no to her on Pirates. We do let our kids see scarier stuff than others do because it doesn't seem to bother them (only reason I haven't gone yet was because I didn't want to take DS because he won't sit through a movie--and today was the first time DH has been home and reasonably sure that he wouldn't get paged back to the hospital).

The other thing, I assume it will be playing on the cruise, so you could try there with no pressure.

oooh good idea! I did not even think about it being on the cruise. These movies seem less scary in the daylight and when you can walk away or fast forward. That's what we have done with the Harry Potters, we buy them and just fast forward through the parts we think are too scary for her. i.e. the graveyard scene...

It would be hard to do anything if you never knew if your babysitter were going to have to leave at any minute... I am glad you finally got to see it.

It's not always that bad with his schedule, but they've been shorthanded this summer with vacations, a new hire, and one guy out with shoulder surgery. He's planning to "veg" out a lot during the cruise, so don't think he's antisocial!

Elizabeth - we always pick up some Mickey lollipops from Walmart. They are neat to pass around.... also those glow in the dark bracelets/necklaces, especially for pirate night.

Half the fun is just discovering something and saying- NEAT!!! But goodies aren't mandatory....POSTING is mandatory...we gotta get this thread count up!!!

Kim- DH takes the boys to many movies that I wish he wouldn't. He thought P2 was very scary for them. I'd not recommend it for a 6 year old....especially a girl...there are just too many negative reports.

Kim - DH took the kids to P2. I took the kids to Monster House. The boys say P2 was much much scarier!!

I was surprised at how scary Moster House was. I figured there would be a nice little moster ghost inside....but noooo!!!!!!

Gosh - 5 posts in a row with no one else chatting...I'm feeling like John.

Okay then, I'll just have to tell you all about my weekend of house guests...

I guess it went okay....
