HAPPY 4TH OF JULY

I must admit. It doesn't feel like a holiday to me...just another day! My DH decided to work this year so it is just me and the kids. He works for a small company. They are given holiday/vacation days. You can use them whenever you want. Some guys never go on vacation and use them for holidays...court dates (I'm not kidding) or Fire Calls. My DH likes to use his for Disney!!!! This year he has 11 paid nonworking days. It isn't bad because if he needs a day she will let you take one without pay. He always takes off Memorial day, so he just does a day without pay and then works long hours the rest of the week...KWIM??? I am rambling...sorry.

Good morning! Heading out in a few to watch the township parade for the Fourth -- very fun (firetrucks, kids on decorated bikes, local elected officials, a Mummers string band).

Like Brandi we have no grand plans today. DrHug will be finishing the inside trim on the new sliding door downstairs, hopefully. He did the upstairs yesterday. I'll keep the sweet tea poured. Kids are out and about, DGS is working a 7 hour shift today, he gets double time and a half so he is excited.

We had a great day at the Beach, hot, but calm ocean waters, and Lisa and Family are here, and we will be having a cookout tonight and watch the fireworks that everyone sets off at the beach.

Mummers? Please explain?

Hannah's here, Elizabeth is at her grandparents (just switched to the other grandparents yesterday!)

Mummers are hard to explain...
groups/clubs of men (and some women) dressed in sequins and feathers, playing music and strutting, most notably at a New Year's Day parade, but they play at events all year long.
Part Mardi Gras, part Vegas act, part circus, part tradition going back to the 1700s...

It's been a rough week.

DD needs your thoughts these next couple weeks...She's away right now getting help for a problem that DH and I just couldn't find solutions for any longer and where she is at..they have specialists that should be able to help better... Hoping she can come home in a couple weeks.

Brack....It's over in your neck of the woods in Tysons... Maybe one of the days we're over there...you guys could meet us at the Rainforest cafe for dinner one night. Give me a call and i'll see if our schedules ever link up...

PS...No picnic here..It keeps raining... We went to see DD this morning (family therapy visit)
Drove home...Went to get some nearly free Pantene shampoo/cond at Walmart...
Now home...DH just took some burgers out to grill between rain showers.
