Joy, only you know what your kids will do. It will be an hour bus ride to the ruins from the city each way. The guide will be telling us the history of the ruins & village while we are driving there, along with answering questions. We will spend 2 hours at the ruins.

I was going to leave my kids in the club but after the way they acted on our trip to DC, I am confident that they will behave and be interested enough to learn something. We spent 5 10-12 hour days in the district, 2 of them on my own with the kids, and they loved all of it. On the metro back to the apartment they asked me if we could move up to DC because they want to go to the museums all the time. They also did well on the hour metro ride with no food or drink...or bathrooms. Now THAT really surprised me! :lmao:

My kids were bored silly by DC, but that was 2 years ago...

I think we're going to pass on the tour... there's always next time!

Just thought I would catch you up on the softball situation. They did play today and we lost. Really not a big deal. They tried. But, I got screamed at by the opposing coach when I got there!!! :furious: I was like, you've got to be kidding me!! I was so ready to just take the girls and walk! She did come over and apologize a little later and used the excuse that her parents were yelling at her. You guys have to realize that I am such a laid back person who rarely gets very upset. I am the one who lets things slide and don't make a fuss. I don't yell at the girls and never argue with the umps (of course I will question things that can be questioned). I don't believe that winning at this age is the most important thing. I was actually hoping that we wouldn't win until she yelled! I wasn't even the one who pushed for us to play!! I am so glad the season is done. The only reason I will probably keep coaching is so that some of the girls can have a good experiance playing!! :teeth:

:sad2: Kids could have so much fun if the parents would just grow up!! :sad2:

Caroline - Thanks for the Softball update. I think you have the exact right attitude! I can only hope that my children have coaches who have their heads on the right way like you! Winning isn't the end all or be all of existance.

Your tour sounds wonderful! We just can't join you guys this time. We feel that our kids are too small. Eliza may or may not be walking at the time and if she is I am sure it won't be very well. We are going to go to a beach, shop, or other things that don't require hauling a baby around without a stroller. I am sure you guys will have a great time!

I feel very broke today. I just sent in my payment for a summer masters class which was over $1,000. I also booked our flight today and that was over $600.

We got what I feel to be a good deal with the flight and we didn't want to wait any longer. I will get reimbursed for my class when I go back to work. Usually that isn't very long but since I am on maternaty leave it won't be until Jan. :sad2:

After this class I only have one more and I will have my masters degree....then...I guess I will have to work for my doctorate :confused3 .

Just wanted to give you an update on Linda's son. He had to have surgery on Wed night. But I did get an email from her today saying he was supposed to be released today. He is to go home on crutched and an IV, but after 14 more days should be able to resume normal activities. :cool1:

WOW! That is incredibly scarey, Cristi. That sure happened fast. Glad that they were able to fix him up!

Carolyn - You are setting a great example for the girls on your team. (((HUGS)))

Brandi - ITA. This is the first cruise we are booking an excursion at all with the kids. It is much easier to stay on the ship with little ones. :)

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone!

I know I haven't been around here much, but with the nice weather, work, and my school board responsibilities, I have been pretty busy.

I bought my own birthday present right before we left for our WDW vacation . . . I got myself a new laptop, a new Macbook! Great computer, and I can now boot into Windoze too if I really want to.

For my birthday though, we went out to dinner (just us three, it is also DS's birthday, but he is away at school) at Bravo Italian restaurant - one of my favorites, and then went to see "Cars". I really liked the movie, as I have really enjoyed EVERY Pixar film. I don't think those guys can make a bad movie. We had a nice family night out.

I'm looking into the 12/1/07 cruise, but am disappointed in rates. I have a quote from DU for a Cat 8 in their "special group rate" but guess what? Only $50 less than the rack rate right on the DCL web site. Some deal. More people are traveling now, more people are cruising than ever, and I think the days of awesome deals when booking real early are gone for awhile. Time had an article about that new ship RCL that holds 4,000 guests! About twice as many as the DCL ships, and cannot even dock at St. Marteen because it is too big!

Have a good weekend everyone. 90's here tomorrow, so Sophia and I are hitting the local pool for the day.

John

Thanks for the update Christi! What a scary situation that muxt have been! You would think the dog bite was bad enough, but to turn into such a bad thing as to have surgery?!?! I am so thankful he will be ok in a relatively short time. :Pinkbounc

Brandi - congrats on being so close to finishing your Masters!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

My little old Associates can't compare! :teeth: And I still have 2 classes to take. WOnder how long they will take me?? I have been taking classes on and off since 1997! :lmao: :rotfl2:

Thanks Caroline but I won't be doing the happy dance until December. That is when it will be compete!

I hope everyone has a great weekend. We will be enjoying beautiful weather here in PA. We are going to Hershey Park. We have free passes. There are a few times each year that they give them out at the Hershey Bears Hockey Games. My aunt is a season pass holder and she lets us know when ticket nights are so that we can get the free passes! We are going to spend the day with my parents and Grandfather. Later everyone~ :Pinkbounc

Good morning everyone! :) It's an earlier start than I would have liked today but DH had to get to the bike race. His part is over today so we will have tomorrow morning & early afternoon to spend with him before he goes back to MD. The kids & I will go check out what is going on a little later this morning.

Regarding the ruins tour, the cost is for ALL children ages 11 and under.

Where is brack?? :confused3 I hope they had an easy move!! :teleport:

I am still very much interested in getting together at the Baltimore Aquarium. Heck, us eastcoasters could meet almost anywhere!! :goodvibes Hershey Park, Sesame Place, Great Adventure..... Does anyone go to Sesame Place?? We have season passes this year and hope to get there a few times this summer.

Brandi- have a great time today! :cheer2: The weather sure has gotten warm! :sunny:

Lisa - I hope DH does well! It's HOT out there!! What a good example for the kids!

I got my cruise docs the other day for RCCL!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc My mom's friend is already packed! I haven't even thought about it yet. Softball is over, but DD7 still has coachpitch softball. Summer camps will be starting soon also. 22 more days til a much needed break!! :cloud9:

Good morning. Sounds like lots of nice weather back East and lots of activity for you all. It is still in the 60's here, still getting showers most everyday, but also some sun breaks with it. Oh, what that does to the grass!! :sad2: I just mowed the front last weekend and it is already so high that I HAVE to do it today or it will get out of hand again. We still have not gotten the back 1/4 acre mowed. I need to take the bagger of the mower and just do it. It is too high, wet and heavy and the bagger plugs then the mower dies. DrHug did some weedeating last weekend, but there is lots more to be done. And of course with the rain, :sunny: ,rain, :sunny: , rain, :sunny: all week the parts he got done are starting grow up again. Sheesh! We need to sell this and get a condo!
