12/09/06 Cruise Continued ~ Pirating Bananas DIS Geekorama Part 2 Part 2

This is one wall of her room. There will be a 8 inch white shelf above the castles with willow leaf brackets when it is all over with. The plan is to move some of her stuffed friends up there & off her bed so it doesn't take me so long to change her bed. It will be tall enough to display dolls (like the princess barbies that are waiting for her to be old enough to just look at them. )

Before you say I've done too much....only half of one wall is done in DS's room & one wall in DD's room. The crowns are all over but that was pretty simple.

BTW, the ivy going around DD's room was done 4 years ago when I changed her room from the nursery with teddy bears to a big girl room. It has gone with classic Pooh & now princesses. I don't plan to cover that up until we sell the house. It was a much easier project than this stuff now is though. I used 4 shades of green and then took a very thin brush & painted the veins onto the leaves.

John & fam are going to VB (today?) but are back at the world on Monday. (which is the day we leave to come home) I'm taking their # JIC.

I'm working. This afternoon I will go home and quilt like crazy to get the last of my graduation quilts done. It won't be finished until next week though. This weekend we go to Tifton in South GA for a Job interview for me. and then Jekyll Island for the day on Saturday. If I get the job I'll be 4 hours closer to DW and the Port!

Good Morning! I couldn't sleep so I got up to read some posts. I've been fighting some kind of virus since Friday night so between work and packing I've not had much time for the DISBoard. Maybe not being able to sleep will help keep up.

The house is beginning to look a little rough with pictures off the wall and boxes everywhere. We start putting some of our stuff in the POD tomorrow. That will make the house look a bit cleaner if not more barren.

MrsMork tell DrHug to not be ashamed to carry his "big bag". It is manly.

Speaking of moves, I am amazed Brack at how fast you are moving. They aren't wasting any time shipping you off to Baltimore are they? Will you and Annette fit in the Pod? Would that count as one piece of Luggage on the cruise?

Today is the last day of school for DD. That means that the teachers will all be outside singing "Na Na Na Na Na Na Goodbye" to the kids as they are picked up by DM's and the busses. It's the most fun all year. Except of course for the first day of school.

Lisa those rooms are looking great. Your kids are really lucky to have a DM who takes such good care of them. And I love the Princess bubbles!

Speaking of Crown Jewels. How is that arm, side, chest pain feeling? Did the rest clear it up?

Well, we're being told that "the boys will be swimming by the weekend". Now they started on Saturday. It has only been 3 days of work and they are still saying that. It is unbelieveable how fast they work. I honestly do believe at this rate there will be water in my pool by Saturday. But I told DH - they said the boys will be in there this weekend...not me....b/c there is no way that water is going to heat up to a tempurature where even my toes will enter that pool...even if we crank the pool heater to full blast.

On the good side of the pool - there has been so much activity that our nightly visitor hasn't been around lately. I stopped video taping b/c I couldn't get good night shots and he can't visit during the day b/c of the pool work. so - life is good on that side.

You guys are going to love this one! Karma bites! I just went to quiz DS on his spelling words & the first one I saw was "horray." What is that? It's not in the dictionary...book or online. When I do it on email it suggests "hooray." I am waiting to confirm with another mom that this is how her DS wrote it down before getting very upset. Here she marked DS down for misspelling a word when copying it & she gave them a misspelled word to study! I am going to print out the page that shows that horray is NOT a word! I am ready to kick some substitute butt!!!!

Lisa - It would take a lot for me to go into the school after a teacher but this...this would have me FURIOUS . Honestly after the paper the other day I would probably not have done much (that is just my personality). I tend to be a teacher backer (for obvious reasons). I would never let her "horray" fly..never! If she hadn't sent the other paper home I would have kindly called and told her about her error. Since she docked your son points or whatever it was called I would contact her in a less than kind way.

On the last day of school where I teach we dismiss all of the grades except 6th (our building is K - 6). The teachers line the stairs and hall and we clap and cheer as they walk through the "tunnel." Some of the kids are crying and I always feel choked up about a few special students. After they all leave we shut the door and CHEER!!! It really is a nice tradition.
